Allestree’s Park Farm Shopping Centre has been around for over fifty years – at the time of its opening it was one of the largest such retail and entertainment complexes in Europe – and it’s still the default destination for many Derby city and Derybshire residents when they need to hit the shops or have dinner out. There are many restaurants to choose from #, but if you’re after a South Asian meal with distinction, head round to Park Farm Drive and up to the second floor to find The Royal Raj, a fine Indian restaurant that takes inspiration from traditional Mughal cuisine to table. We can recommend all the chef’s specialties, from entrees like the battakh ki boti barbecued duck fillet, to the ‘mother’s own recipe’ dishes like dhegi channa dall, or Raj house specials like the Kashmiri chicken chaska.
Excellent service, varied menu, good food served nice and hot, good waiting staff, quick service and children friendly, we had a very enjoyable family meal.
Wonderful service ,good ambiance and fantastic food as always. Never had a bad experience at this do local restaurant. . Well done Freddie and team.
Pleasant staff, but had to ask twice if we could order after 30 minutes. The meal was nice but not exceptional, the Pashawri Naams had no coconut taste, just tasted like a plain Nnam bread. The first round of drinks only came with three instead of four drinks, and when a later second round of drinks were ordered, there was a delay in bringinging the ladies drinks. A little disappointed overall, but would probably return to give them a second chance.
