Very friendly and helpful staff. Great drop of Timothy Taylor's Landlord. My guests enjoyed their fish pie, my wife enjoyed a big portion of fish and chips, and I had a very tasty plate of calves liver, with colcannon and bacon. A really good experience for each of us.
We found the the Food was very nice and the general atmosphere was good with nice warm log fires, the staff were friendly, but what let it all down a bit was we felt it was just a little overpriced.
Made to feel very welcome with super, friendly service. Not at all rushed and the food was out of this world! We've never had a bad meal here.👍🏻
Great ambiance, great food, great beer (for those who were not driving), great service. We will definitely go back there even though for us it is an hour's drive.
There was a lovely atmosphere here, with friendly staff and lovely food. The slightest mistake, in my opinion, was not being asked what size glass of wine I wanted. I would certainly go again!
Excellent as always. Thoroughly enjoyed and the fires were lit. Lovely
We had a really pleasant evening in one of our favourite eating places. The ambience is always excellent and there was live music. The staff were pleasant and attentive. We'll be back soon.
We've been a few times and always enjoyed it but were both particularly impressed with our food on this occasion. I only had a burger but it was one of the tastiest I've had. Definitely will be back soon!
Brilliant trip for a special lunch at the Scotts Arms. Our friend was celebrating his 96th birthday and we booked a table for lunch. We were given directions by email before we arrived so that we knew how to find the best way in (disabled entrance) , the perfect table (number 27!) with ease of access to all the facilities. We were served a fabulous lunch by two exceptional waitresses who went above and beyond to make sure it was a wonderful time. The Lamb Sizzler from the specials' board was delicious and the portions were very generous and we were able to exchange salad for vegetables for our older guest. The chicken mango salad was again generous portion and beautiful balance of flavours. It really was a wonderful celebration for our special friend. Thank you Scoffs Arms and especially the waitressing staff; they deserve gold stars from the boss for their perfect service
Good clean gastro pub. Lovely setting, really friendly attentive staff. Good sized portions delightfully cooked. Went on a quiet evening so the atmosphere fizzled out, however not the fault of the restaurant. Can imagine booking being vital at other times. Would certainly return.
Excellent food , good service , good value , lovely traditional pub . Can't fault it . We will definitely return again very soon .
One of our favourite eateries! Great friendly service. Disappointed as ordered lamb but there was none. Had guinia fowl instead-nice but v.small portion. He had steak - very happy man! Children's menu good and just right portion sizes for small children. Lovely atmosphere, music right type - mellow and not loud.
Greeted with a most friendly welcome, all of the staff working hard with happy smiles. We all enjoyed our food, I chose the swordfish & it was the best I have ever had! The salted caramel cheese cake was divine as well. Each of my dining companions were equally delighted with their choices.
A Traditional pub with good atmosphere, a varied selection to choose from the menu and specials board and local beer. Set in an idilic, Yorkshire village it is a destination for both locals and tourists.
Great venue, good food. I was with a new friend and we both had a good time good atmoshere, warm welcome. we would recommend it.
Had previously had a run of good experiences at the Scotts Arms and so decided to take goods friends for lunch. Now I'm totally embarrassed that I did. First, our first two choices of white wine (from a very short list) were unavailable, as was some of the menu courses we requested. Perhaps this is because we went on a Monday lunchtime but to be honest, that is not my problem. Food presentation was bland. For example, my fried fish (£12.95) was simply laid on a few limp chips. Are mushy peas supposed to be dry and grey/black in colour? Not where I grew up. I could rant on. I'm afraid we will not be returning until we hear some good reports.
The food is always good along with excellent service and the atmosphere of the most charming & friendly picturesque pub which is second to none!
Excellent food with a good choice of wine and real ales in a relaxed, informal atmosphere. Table reserved and ready on arrival but no rush to sit down and eat.
One of the best old traditional pub/restaurants in England, The food is fantastic, and the service is top notch. The Scotts Arms is our favourite place to eat.
Lovely food, good portions and great service. My partner had the pie, which he said was really nice. I had the chicken caeser salad which was a good size with plenty of chicken. Would definitely return.
Young, enthusiastic, attentive, happy smiley staff, who gave us a warm, welcome on arrival. Great layout and comfy seating. The food was absolutly, delicious, fresh, local produce and piping hot. Highly recommended
Fantastic little pub. Staff amazing, good exceptional, the menu is dicieving, it's so much more. The atmosphere was brilliant, staff couldn't have been friendlier and the food really was top quality.
Love this pub/restaurant . Great food in a lovely location. Chicken liver parfait is delish and the Sunday dinner is plentiful. Went to celebrate my parents ruby wedding anniversary and they really enjoyed.
Cosy pub, lovely staff and fab food! Menu is extensive and will appeal to all diners everything reasonably priced. Looking forward to the next visit.
A pleasant evening with good beer and food. Staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive. I Would definitely return here at a future date.
Food was lovely as always. Only comment I would have is it took a while for someone to come take our order. Would definitely return though.

Good food, excellent atmosphere and attentive staff, a very pleasant evening.
Excellent food and nice atmosphere. Allowing for the fact all food was cooked fresh we felt the wait was worth it. Will be back soon.
Gorgeous food, great service, good atmosphere and live music on a friday night. Steak and ale pie and chocolate fudge cake are a must have!
Lovely Christmas cheer and tasty food! Warm welcomong fire and friendly staff, all added to a very pleasant evening with friends. Thank you Scotts Arms!
top notch food, great atmosphere, brilliant staff, ever changing menu and just a fantastic place for a night out
As usual, the food was very good, particularly the soup and roll which never disappoint. Warm, friendly, candle-lit atmosphere, although very quiet last night so lacking some of the usual atmosphere.
window table available, food and drinks ordered at the bar, and served within 15 mins. Good range of choices, and all 4 of us very satisfied with both quality and quantity.
As usual a very pleasant meal. Prices are competitive and value for money. Always enjoy going there for lunch. Has a wide selection on the menu, which should enable anyone to find something.
Excellent service and food in a great atmosphere. Would highly recommend
Lovely warm, cosy atmosphere are usual and excellent service, although our table was not shown as reserved (several others were). The food was very good, particularly the soup and roll. Another enjoyable evening.
Good pub food. Really helpful service. Steak and ale pie really nice. Small portion of sausage and mash was well big enough for an adult
