Having undergone a recent refurbishment, The Ship Inn has as much contemporary chic in its industrial design as it does historical charm in its picturesque building on Lower Park Row. That’s a killer combination, but even better is the combination of deliciously satisfying pub meals and vast selection of fine cask ales, good wines (over 20 offered by the glass) and spirits from the bar. The Ship Inn is found right by the University of Bristol in the city centre, and you could hardly come by a more convenient spot for a pint and a feed at great, student-friendly prices. However, the range of classic British fare, refined pub grub, vegetarian and seafood options (not to mention the vibrant, cosy atmosphere) make The Ship Inn suitable for all types, from young families to corporates.
I reserved a table for myself and four friends for supper, as we had a limited amount of time to eat before going to a music event. We were made very welcome and the landlord and chef were incredibly helpful in ensuring there were no delays. The choice of beers was excellent, and the food extremely tasty. I look forward to my next visit.
Friendly pub with excellent wine and quality food, especially burgers. Pleasant staff. We found a table that was not under a loudspeaker so it was reasonably quiet. Will certainly visit again.
Excellent food, really friendly staff. Lovely atmosphere and a nice location. Would definitely reccomend the burger and friends had the fish pie, Russian parcels and falafel burgers. All really good.
