Great starters, atmosphere was lacking, sat on a strangely positioned table. First visit here for us, but I don't think we will be returning. The food menu is great and I liked the choice.

I had the Sunday lunch menu. Very generous with the beef. Husband had other menu and pasta dish wash lovely. Eat there often, lovely staff and great service, value for money served food to perfection. The menu has enough to please all.

No atmosphere so very quiet and horrible smell of drains in the bar and outside the toilets . Food was acceptable but not amazing! Pate looked like any supermarket provides 🙈 Was much better last time I went approx 3 months ago

We have been staying at hotel across the road for the weekend and as it was our 26th wedding anniversary we wanted a very special meal without having to travel in the car. We booked a table at The Sparling and then read some reviews and nearly cancelled. How glad we went as we had the most wonderful evening a fabulous meal from starter to dessert with not one complaint, we will most definitely come back again and again even though we live in Cheshire it would be worth travelling for. We were sat at a table 5 of us as a family laughing and joking and when my son went to the gents we were approached by the manageress who enquired to see if my son was okay and inferred he was very noisy and that we were in a restaurant

Lovely service and tasty food,my first visit but definitely will come back again.

Food was okay but they forgot my pudding and staff weren’t helpful or prompt about sorting that so missed eating with my friends.

Relaxed lunch and friendly staff . Glad to have the over attentive waiters gone. It was far less invasive with their presence constantly at the table . Previously they would too frequently appear at the table to ask if the meal was ok , which is alright up to a point but to have it happen every 10 minutes or so gets very wearing . Food was excellent and the menu is varied and interesting . There is a great choice of food . Setting is lovely

This is a Lovely restaurant with lovely staff and amazing food. We will defo be coming back again. The paella chicken chorizo was absolutely delicious I 100% recommend it.

Lovely place , first visit . Two course price very reasonable . Disappointed with pate (tasteless just like a supermarket cheap buy) Main course was delicious (liver and onions). It was our anniversary . Will return

Disappointed that they didn't have tapas on the menu last night as that is what we had planned on having. Food was nice however. The service on the other hand was dire. There seemed to be 4 staff members on and the restaurant was full. We were there 35 minutes before anyone took our drinks order! Then we had to get someone's attention to order food as again we were left waiting, as were other tables who were also looking round for staff! Have been to this restaurant before for lunch on a Saturday and had a much better experience. I don't think I would go again on a busy weekend evening sadly.

Food and service very good. It is a great place to meet and chat without feeling rushed. The menu has been condensed but there is still a great variety and choice of dishes .

Couldnt find our reservation. I had the surf and turf paella which stated it had prawns,mussels,clams,chicken and squid.There was no mussels or clams at all and it was extremely salty. The waiters went past the table more times than I could count and still didnt clear away empty glasses or ask if more drinks were wanted.I ordered a dessert and waitied and waitied before eventually giving up and asking for the bill -explained what had happened the order had never been placed in kitchen. They did apologise by taking the dessert off the bill and a round of drinks but it was just really disapointing really as was a special occasion birthday meal for my future hubby.Can't say il be returning sadly.

Very good lunchtime meal. It's a pity that staff decided to drag out the Christmas tree and other decorations while we were there. I think that sort of thing should be done when they are closed to customers. Slightly confusing £5 voucher deal which clearly said per person but in reality was per table/ bill. Should we have asked for separate bills to achieve the £5 off each? These vouchers are never all they appear to be which is probably why most people don't try to redeem them. As ever the food was very good and usual attentive staff. Will definitely be returning

Lovely restaurant and good food. Thinking it would be quiet on a Monday night, but lots of diners eating at 8:30 pm when we left. Highly recommended

Excellent food Took my husband for the first time and he was very impressed Decor and ambience is great. We both chose Mediterranean food rather than traditional English food. Paella and Turkish casserole were very good. Great presentation of the Turkish dish
