Moonlit chicken tikka masala with ground pistachios, chasni prepared with chardonnay, and almond and cinnamon-infused makhani – just some of the special breeds of Indian dishes growing in The Spice Garden. This superb Indian restaurant in Glasgow’s Laurieston, set under the railway bridge along Clyde Place just south of the river, might be unprepossessing from the outside, but within lies a paradise of refined and inventive South Asian cuisine. Such is The Spice Garden’s authenticity that critics and diners alike have showered the restaurant with praise for dishes like the tandoori lamb chops and the tangy zeera achari balti with okra. And, from Sunday through to Friday you can bag yourself a great value set meal for one to four people. A short walk from either St Enoch SPT or Bridge Street SPT Subway, pay a visit to The Spice Garden now.
An absolute hidden gem of a restaurant, don't let the location/exterior put you off, the interior is lovely and clean, the staff are friendly and welcoming, and the food is honestly some of the best Indian food I have ever tasted. Good big portions too and great value for money!
Excellent food, excellent service. You couldn't ask for any better. We will definitely be back for more and would have no hesitation in recommending it to everyone looking for a superb Indian meal in Glasgow.
