The Food was good,generous portion and the waiter was polite.

Food was delicious and the service was exceptional highly recommend

Sadly there were very few people there, so there was no atmosphere. It was very cold, obviously no heating on.

Had a meal booked 12 15 Doors were locked said no staff someone had done the rota wrong . Would not let us in

Waited 15 mins to get to the disabled car parking bay as a delivery lorry was blocking entrance. No driver in sight! When he finally appeared, he made us wait even longer until he'd completed his delivery when all I needed was an extra 3ft of room to clear his metal lift. Steak and kidney pudding was actually a pie, not suet pudding, so disappointing. Only one friendly member of staff on duty- taking drinks orders, food orders, collecting and delivering food, clearing tables so delays inevitable- but not her doing.

Found the menu quite limited (not being a fan of burgers or baguettes). It was cold so kept my coat on. Paper had run out in the ladies and the hand dryer not working. Staff helpful and friendly.

We had a awful experience food lousy, no wine, room was cold, looks like they are going out of business. Will never go there again after some lovely times there.

A quiet birthday lunch for my 99 year old mother

The two members of staff on duty were very polite.. Even though we had prebooked and the place was not busy the staff didn't know where to seat us. We were seated in the darker side of the pub not the restaurant. The carvery was ok and could of done being a lot warmer. When asked if everything was ok we explained about the food was warm and could of beena bit a bit warmer, the member of staff said she appreciated the feedback and it depends on how long the carvery has been out to how hot it was.

The two staff who were there were great but feel they were let down by management - two staff had not turned up. Food was just ok they did their best, not their fault.

The experience was not as good as on previous visits. The choice of meals was limited to carvery and although we were booked for 12.30 the food was very dry as though it had been standing for ages. The service was satisfactory even though only one person serving. The bar was not fully stocked and 2 out of 3 drinks were unavailable.

Very disappointing. Looking forward to the all day carvery but veg was very overcooked, and potatoes undercooked. Stall very apologetic and highlight pigs in blankets. But we just wanted a nice meal

We had reserved a table for lunchtime, but there didn't appear to be many staff on and there was a problem with the supply, so we couldn't select anything from the menu.. only vegetable soup or carvery!!! My two friends had the carvery, but it was NOT hot!!! The food was only warm!!!We told the waitress and she said that she would tell the chef.... very disappointing 😞 response!!! When my vegetable soup arrived, there were NO vegetables 😕... only a watery soup 😕.. very disappointed!!! We did half expect a part refund, or complimentary return, but it was NOT forthcoming, despite half the carveries being left on the plates!!!!

We arrived to find out that the menue had been dramatically reduced so we left without eating. We have previously used the stables and had always enjoyed our meals and the staff were very accommodating.

Arrived and was told they didn’t have a reservation In my name, but could find us a table. Menu limited to five items no starters and only two sweets Staff not helpful at start, but improved during the evening Overall we were content, but we had been there a few months before for my partners birthday and had a lovely evening. large menu Good service. So had taken friends there, a bit disappointed

Had booked weeks ago and the waitress kept asking on several occasions had we booked? The restaurant was completely empty. They had run out of most of the menu because they were preparing for the sunday roasts. Did not feel welcome at all. Will not be returning

Beautiful food - and not overly busy, so a lovely atmosphere

Glass drink served in was dirty. Drink exchanged. Wrong pie served to wrong 2 people. No refund or exchange. Very, very slow service.

Had a great time. It was slightly disappointing that the menu on the website was not the same as the one in the restaurant. One of our guests was looking forward to Hunters Chicken but, this was not the case. :(

Food was good but nothing to write home about. Menu was extremely limited compared to on the website. New chef so will see next time we visit if the menu has expanded.

All four of us really enjoyed our meals today. It was a special Results meal for two grandsons who received A level results. Thoroughly enjoyable with lovely staff.

New menu disappointing, limited choice but food and service very good

A very pleasant lunchtime venue. Very good food and service.

6 of us visited on a quiet Monday lunchtime. It’s a modest establishment but perfectly fine. 5 of us had fish and chips and there wasn’t a scrap left on our plates. Prices were very reasonable and all of us agreed if we were in the area again we would happily use The Stables. Best of all was Gilly who looked after us. Very personable, attentive and a sense of humour!

Since our last visit they have changed the menu so our favoutites were not available which was disappointing. Though the service and everything was very good the new menu was not as good a value for money, but that's the cost of living for you!

Fantastic service (bar staff and waitress) atmosphere was pleasant, we were however very disappointed with the potion size of the meals. 2 of our party had the fish and chips, the size of the fish was on the smaller size and the chips were- you would think a child's portion! For £16 it was disappointing to say the least. For this reason we wont be rushing back or recommending it to friends.

Restaurant was being staffed single handed due to staff sickness, but the guy was calm, helpful, smiley and very efficient. Food was brilliant too, as usual

The food was lovely. It was not so good that as soon as we arrived we were informed there was a few things on the menu which was no longer available due to changing menus, and then proceeded to list off around 8 items! Then once taken order we were again informed that another item was now sold out. They must have known in advance, so I was not impressed that we were not informed when asked the day before for confirmation.

It was a great meal. Food was amazing. Staff very kind
