The Stables Exeter

A last-minute booking for my birthday and this visit to the Stables turned into a really lovely treat. The service was exceptional; our duck breast was cooked to perfection and the berry strudel was exquisite...just didn't want the evening to end! Thank you to all at the Stables...we'll definitely be back :)

Bit of a shortage of restaurants in the Exeter area, booked at the Stables and was very surprised, great welcome from front of house and attentive service throughout our meal for 4, well done to the team

Noise was only because some of the tables are very close together

Great service. Lovely setting and atmosphere. I had the roast lamb which was absolutely delicious, one of the best roasts I've had. Cant wait to go back

We enjoyed our meal, although steak was sent back as it wasn't cooked to instructions. Tables are also too close together.

Really good menu for vegans, veggies and meat eaters alike. The specials were all tempting. Food was delicious. Service was great too. Warm and friendly atmosphere. Good parking.

Booked at last minute for a bite to eat, cannot recommend enough. The Special Duck was amazing

On arrival showed to table and serve promptly, the food was lovely. Would definitely recommend.

Staff work extremely hard as the restaurant was very busy. Food very good. We like having a smaller portion. The only other point we would make was that the desserts sold out quickly.

Friendly, lively atmosphere. Great food helpful attentive staff, fab evening!

The service was a bit slow, but it was very busy. Unfortunately a large party were sat opposite our table and were very loud and the children in that party, at a separate table to the adults, were extremely noisy to the point that I couldn’t hear what some people on my table were saying.

We had a great evening from the time we arrived to the time we left. Good & friendly service.

Took my 88 year old mother for a meal with the family after spending the day in hospital with her. Food has changed as not the sane as when we last came in July. Garlic mushrooms weren’t garlic and on one piece of bread, not the best. Fish Pie was bland, no sauce in it, tasteless & no cheese topping like before. A disappointing visit it has to be said & the waitress was advised & she said she will pass it on, nothing about a good Will gesture. Unlikely to revisit after this experience this evening
