Located on the picturesque Solway coastline, The Steamboat Inn offers much more than just spectacular views of the sea. This quirky spot boats a British-inspired menu, and the dishes you’ll find here and up there with the best in Dumfries. Take up a spot in their beer garden and tuck into a steamboat seafood casserole brimming with haddock, mussels, prawns and smoked salmon, or go for a true British pie with proper pastry, mash, vegetables and gravy, all the better when washed down with an ice cold lager or real ale that’s for sure. Our advice? Take yourself off and take in the beautiful Carsethorn Seafront for a pint and a meal – there’s really not much better in our books.
Food was cooked to order piping hot and very tasty. Quirky restaurant and bars lots of historic pictures and curios that I like, very nice staff friendly and efficient. Will go back again would be brilliant but much busier in summer but the location and views will enhance the experience, the restaurant do warn you because everything is cooked to order it could be up to an hour to wait at busy times but as indicated above have a drink, admire the view, have a chat and the time would fly. Very nice indeed.
Amazing food, Huge portions fantastic atmosphere. Families welcome. Including dogs, there's also outside sitting area facing the coastline. Either for eating or sipping cocktails. very friendly. Travelled 2 hrs just for lunch
Delicious meal, beautiful setting. Thank you for making my mother feel special on Mother's Day. I have been going here for years and would highly cocommend the Steamboat
A great position and good food, interesting menu with lots of seafood. A good place for a birthday lunch and walk along the beach afterwards.
