Located on the picturesque Solway coastline, The Steamboat Inn offers much more than just spectacular views of the sea. This quirky spot boats a British-inspired menu, and the dishes you’ll find here and up there with the best in Dumfries. Take up a spot in their beer garden and tuck into a steamboat seafood casserole brimming with haddock, mussels, prawns and smoked salmon, or go for a true British pie with proper pastry, mash, vegetables and gravy, all the better when washed down with an ice cold lager or real ale that’s for sure. Our advice? Take yourself off and take in the beautiful Carsethorn Seafront for a pint and a meal – there’s really not much better in our books.
Delicious beef Sunday lunch! Beef slow roasted for 6 hours. Nice friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere. We would definitely come again and recommend to anyone.
Easy to book and a comfortable place to enjoy a meal. The meal was served promptly and it was very good. The haddock in beer batter was lovely. The scampi was also cooked from proper fish meat not prawns and was also great. All in all well worth a visit the view over the Solway was also good.
Beautiful day to sit in the garden, watching the waves and enjoying a fabulous combo sharing plate of prawns, scampi, chicken goujons, onion rings, wedges and spring rolls
