Sadly a lovely lunch was blighted by the dog owners who gave their dog (which you could smell) a bone to munch on in the restaurant. I personally don't think that dogs should be in a restaurant so probably won't return. This is a shame as it's one of the few nice coastal pubs in the region. Sadly, these days no one seems to consider that some folk may have allergies or asthma or simply may not wish to eat their food beside an animal.

Very accommodating as the online booking was supposed to be closed down as it was Mothering Sunday and they were fully booked, but they honoured our online booking and made a table available for me and my 3 children. The food, service and place were excellent. Definitely worth another visit.

Unfortunately the kitchen was closed and so we were limited to soup and baguettes. These were very nice though.

Lovely food, the fish and chips was amazing and the portion of mussels was huge. Sausages on the kids menu we’re great and again, a good sized portion. Service was very efficient and staff were lovely. We’ll definitely return if we’re in the area again

Lovely atmosphere, good service and pleasant staff. Not the usual “pub grub “ food, which was a relief. The duck was exceptionally good and thoroughly enjoyed. My partner has a large appetite but was left pleasantly full, which makes a change !! The big bonus for us both was that you had Diet Pepsi, albeit in a can, but that just made our experience perfect. We’ll certainly be making return visits. Thank you all.

Easy to book and a comfortable place to enjoy a meal. The meal was served promptly and it was very good. The haddock in beer batter was lovely. The scampi was also cooked from proper fish meat not prawns and was also great. All in all well worth a visit the view over the Solway was also good.

This place is in a wonderful location, with the area for sitting outside being right on the beach. The weather wasn't quite good enough for this when we visited, but the conservatory where we were was lovely and bright, with a good view. There was a warm welcome when we arrived and the whole atmosphere of the place was friendly and inviting. The staff are very good and the service was excellent. The drinks weren't overpriced and the local beer was very good. I can especially recommend the local Golden Ale. The food was well presented, and the portions were generous, but sadly the battered fish was not good. The batter was far to thick, soggy and unappetising and the fish was rather dry. However, the rest of the dishes were delicious. I can definitely recommend this place, and we will be returning for sure.

Food was cooked to order piping hot and very tasty. Quirky restaurant and bars lots of historic pictures and curios that I like, very nice staff friendly and efficient. Will go back again would be brilliant but much busier in summer but the location and views will enhance the experience, the restaurant do warn you because everything is cooked to order it could be up to an hour to wait at busy times but as indicated above have a drink, admire the view, have a chat and the time would fly. Very nice indeed.
