Really nicely cooked food. We had the carvery and would visit again
Great welcome by the host (didn’t know his name) beverages served promptly. Varied selection on the menu for all tastes. Food was excellent & tasty
Service was great but the food was average this time .
Friendly and helpful staff - nice home cooked food -
Great food with good portion size. Atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. Would recommend.
Great food again, delicious and well presented. Would definitely recommend this pub.
its was very nice and friendly staff and our dogs loved it and my brother son loved the bunk beds will come again soon
Food was lovely. Felt it was a bit pricey for the portion sizes on some of the meals. Waitress not very friendly. Table in an awkward place by the doors with people squeezing thro to go to the bar etc.
The poor guy who was working on his own on the bar, we was amazing so friendly and helpful my grandson has autism and he was so accommodating for him. That guy who served us is an asset to your business.
The sunday carvery was not that good would not return
Carvery was excellent, staff friendly, would go again for carvery.
Very happy thank you, waitress was lovely and looked after us really well.
Went there for lunch with a couple of friends and we all really enjoyed it. The food was lovely and the service was great. We hadn't been for a couple of years because we had been very disappointed there but now it's back to what it always was........a lovely place to meet and eat!
The food quality was very poor - we had to send our roasts back as the beef was too tough to eat and the vegetables were over cooked and pretty tasteless. The carrots looked like they were from a frozen packet. Nothing had much taste. They provided another meal which was marginally better but still no real taste - side salad had tinned oranges on it. Unfortunately we could not recommend the swan
A very enjoyable meal when passing through. Food choice was excellent.
Warm welcome on arrival, very good service, happy friendly waiter check that we were satisfied with each course and had every thing we needed. Will be going back and recommending to others.
A lovely place, staff were very hospitable. We went for the option Carvery and it was amazing. I will be recommending it to friends.
Lovely cosy pub, delicious food and friendly staff. Thank you.
2nd visit to The Swan, this time for an evening meal. Just as great as the Sunday lunch. Great food, atmosphere and service. Would thoroughly recommend
First visit to The Swan at Stoford and a very enjoyable experience. We went for the Sunday carvery and it was delicious. The beef was tender, the yorkies magnificent and the vegetables very nicely done. Our waitress was very good, prompt attention, drinks arrived quickly and not too long to wait to order. We were asked how our meal was once we had started. Would thoroughly recommend. In fact we have already booked to go again to try their normal menu
Staff very friendly, menu needs more choice, but value for mony what we ordered was nice hot and well presented Inside could do with redecorating.
Very friendly staff who made us feel welcome and a good choice of food. We especially enjoyed the platter which we all share as a starter.
We had the Sunday roast carvery which was acceptable, but not the best. Plenty of choice with vegetables but a little over cooked and not very hot. The choice of meat was beef, gammon and turkey and that was very nice. Desserts were very nice. A nice atmosphere and staff were very pleasant and willing to help. We would probably visit again, but would probably stick to the normal menu and not have the carvery.
Really great food. Great service. Good atmosphere. .didn't take the kitchen long to prepare the food ,which was delicious would definitely go again and recommend a visit. .
Nice, local pub. Reasonably priced food and drinks, nice interior decor, dog friendly! Convenient large car park on the road opposite. Would recommend Tuesday night steak club!
The food was very enjoyable the staff were very helpful and friendly and the overall stay was very good would recommend it to friends and family
Food was great... tables and chairs felt a little too close together... service for carvery was a little odd being next door and a table tennis table in the way of entrance/exit.... staff were very friendly :-)
Room clean with all amenities, apart from 1 member of staff the others were miserable and disinterested. Food ok evening meal of lasagne was served cold and breakfast not great with a long wait for cooked option. Coffee terrible!
Having been to The Swan a couple of years ago and having had a really good experience we were disappointed today. Bar staff that didn't seem to be bothered, chef on the Carvery surly and unfriendly, low in atmosphere and mediocre food. Should have known on entering as the place was quiet whereas last time it was heaving with happy customers. Don't know if it has changed hands or whether they just had an off day - but we won't be returning. Couldn't get out of there quick enough.
A pleasant lunch. Food was good. Nice pub with friendly service. Lovely to be able to sit by the river. We chose it as it was on A36 and friends were passing by on that road. It worked well for us.
Our family of 5 stayed and ate at The Swan for two nights as we toured the local area. The service was good and the menu was excellent. It was a sad night eating our last chicken ham and leek pie with a pint of the local ale.
Lovely staff, lovely sitting by the river! The local beers were really good and we had a lovely early evening meal- ploughman’s was very good !
The food was good, plenty of it and good choice, the staff delightful. Easy parking, can book table online, menu reasonably priced, excellent location on a main route.
First time visiting this pub. We had a lovely meal, very pleasant staff where nothing was to much trouble. Good atmosphere. We would definitely visit again.
Not great.starters ok. Mains sloppy, fried fish horrid and cold chips. ’new’ potatoes with the salad had been around before, presentation needs addressing. Waitress needs a humour check. Not expensive so that mitigated. We travelled over an hour. Won’t bother another time.
Friendly welcome, with choice of restaurant, bar or garden at the time we went. We'd expected only Sunday carvery to be available, but in fact the whole menu was 'on'. We chose from the main menu, beef stew, game pudding and fish and chips. All came promptly and at perfect eating temperature, and in generous portions, even the two 'smaller plates'. Our choices were deliberately non-spicy, but were well-flavoured with traditional herbs and all went down a treat. The dessert menu too featured some unusual choices. We went for a gin fizz, elderflower and lime cheesecake, an affrogatto and a treacle pudding. Some there were three well-satisfied and full customers!
Friendly atmosphere with no irritating background musak helped us enjoy a very good meal. A higher standard than much pub grub, an interesting menu, we enjoyed their substantial portions. Good ale, well kept.
The price they charge for their meals..Have to say we were really surprised the mash potato was packet mash potato! Other than that..a lovely meal.
Family friendly and food was excellent. Would definitely go again. Both the pub and the restaurant was clean, fresh and appealing. Staff were friendly. Parking opposite, plenty of spaces.
Very good service would recommend very friendly staff very helpful food is lovely and dog friendly pub i would go there again in the next mouth or so
Ham egg and chip meals were tasty and good portions. Sweet potato curry contained much rice but very small portion of curry - nevertheless it was tasty. Waiter was pleasant, but service was very slow indeed, due, I think, to insufficient staffing. We had to forego a dessert due to lack of time, and could easily have walked out without paying.
The food and service was very good. The staff were very attentive to all the guests dining. The pub was lovely and warm on such a cold evening.
We had a lovely lunch at The Swan. Service was prompt and courteous in a very pleasant dining room. In particular, we really enjoyed the food. A good range and also just the right portion size. The pies were particularly good! Only very slight criticism was that the acoustics were such that it got quite noisy at times but this is probably common in pub lunches.
Service was good, friendly staff. Sunday lunch was average. The meat selection was Beef or Turkey which was fine, however the meat portion you got was on the small size. There was plenty or roast potatoes, Veg & Yorkshires though, so that did make up for it.
one meal came before the other three carvery ones which left me waiting for the rest of the party to rejoin me subsequently my meal was cooler. Slightly disappointed.
Really good food all served in a welcoming could try pub.
Excellent service and proper food well cooked. Reasonable prices. A very nice visit was had by all our party Would definitely recommend this lovely pub
Lovely food and very attentive service. Mousakka especially good and the lime and basil ice cream was fantastic! My companions had pies which were very nice. Really enjoyed our evening.
We had a lovely time. Staff very pleasant. We took out dogs which was great but the bedding was white and we were careful about them getting on the bed ... but the white was a worry. I would come again the area was very pretty even in November and walking the dogs was a pleasure I would come againxx
Felt food could be hotter was however very tasty. Staff very attentive. Even though it was a Friday night seemed very quite compared to pubs in the "old days" when you had get in early or not get in at all.
