Although my companion was over half an hour late, I never felt hassled. The staff were lovely and friendly.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was well cooked and hot but the plates were very cold to touch. Warm plates would have been very welcome on such a cold, wet day. I had egg and chips but I was charged for ham egg and chips.

Shame they ran out of the beef roast dinner at 1.30pm and there could have been more vegetarian / non-red meat options.

Service with a smile but the quality of the food was very uninspiring although there was plenty of it. Not nearly up to the standard last time we were there

Overpriced tourist trap selling meals straight from freezer to microwave. Staff were friendly enough though.

Had the trio of meat for my roast dinner, it was really tasty. Apple and Rhubarb crumble for pudding, which was equally as delicious. Service was good and pleasant surroundings. Will definitely be going back.

Really good attentive service. Best Lasagne we have tasted for a long while. Food arrived quickly and piping hot! Good value for money. Would recommend.

Food was good, however the roast was a bit sparse (meat, potatoes, veg). We were also charged £2.50 for extra gravy with our Roast... Extortionate regardless, but especially since the vegetables are served separately and therefore require gravy once on the plate. Service was good during the meal, but we were left 15mins after requesting a card machine before actually being able to pay. Overall, I'd certainly go back for a drink or 'Pub grub' but possibly not for the roast.

Service very good and quick, I would say that the Sunday lunch was only slightly better than average.

The service was great, but the food was not. We came for the highly rated Sunday roast, but found it lacking in any flavour other than the super sweet gravy which swamped the plate. The meatless roast, expected to be a vegetarian roast, was just a plate of potatoes and the steamed veg that accompanied the roasts, smothered in the same gravy.

Good pub fare, with a choice of sea bass thrown in. Nice pint of Wadsworths 6X. We were a party of ten. Plenty of room at the table and food arrived at the same time.

OK, but not brilliant... a little rough round the edges but the food was tasty, but ran out of quite a bit of stuff... even though early

The Talbot is a classic English pub. Very welcoming! Lovely food and drinks. The staff are very kind and polite and we were well accommodated with our baby and dog.

Great food. Had the Sunday roast, meat was melt in the mouth, lots of fresh vegetables and lovely gravy. Friendly service, had reserved table and it was waiting for us when we arrived despite being a little early.

Had Sunday lunch of roast lamb and vegetables followed by dessert. The food was very good and the service was very pleasant. Very nice atmosphere.
