Lovely pub with friendly staff and good service , food limited on a Sunday night but still a nice choice, everyone had a great meal

The food was amazing and the staff were so friendly and chatty and were interested in where you came from etc. It was a really enjoyable evening in a lovely village inn.

Excellent food as always, however, this week there appeared to be a lot of confusion regarding the order in which tables visited to carvery so we were sat waiting whilst other tables did so even though we were seated way before. On previous visits this has not been a problem so not sure what was going wrong. Also music wasn’t appropriate for family Sunday lunch again not had this issue previously. Food amazing my favourite place especially Sunday lunch

There was a problem with the electrics at the restaurant so we ended up with pizzas. Disappointed, we had to wait 1 and a half hours too!

Food very tasty and presented well. I would recommend you book a table as busy. Waitress very busy felt like they could have done with an extra waitress/waiter as we had to wait a while to place our order. Staff friendly. We were all happy with our meals.

Can't fault the Sunday carver, food and service excellent. Seating was comfortable. We took some special friends, and they enjoyed our 'new local' pub, hope to come again soon.

Lovely meal! Glad to be able to enjoy Darren’s food nearer to home again. Had the hake and the steak pie, no room for pudding!

We booked online for 8pm we arrived at 7.50 and waited 10 minutes for a drink and then were seated. Food ordered at 8pm by memory as a large party had all the menus. Ordered a pizza and steak pie and chips. Food not served until 8.55. This length of time not acceptable and had we known food would be so long we would have gone elsewhere. Staff very friendly just not enough of them and food good. Sadly won’t be back.

We arrived at the tavern at the appointed time to find an empty restaurant. The barman simply stated that as a result of a problem in the kitchen no food was available. No valid explanation was offered other than it may or may not get sorted. We were not offered a cold food option and the barman seemed happy fo us to go elsewhere. We have recently moved to the next village and had walked a mile or so to try this pub for lunch. To say the least we were not impressed! No effort was made to contact us to advise us of the problem. We couldn't help thinking that just maybe, owing to low demand, they simply had not opened the reastaurant that day, however we will never know.

Beautiful Sunday carvery on Mothering Sunday and again yesterday, looking forward to coming again!

Busy restaurant is a pleasant clean pub. Service was slow but courteous and menu was excellent with options for all. Chef personally apologised for lack of pesto for my sea bass (kitchen delivery error) and offered alternatives. Food hot and plentiful. Didn't feel rushed. Recommended.

We had Sunday lunch at the Tavern. We have been before and as always found the food to be excellent with regards to quality and quantity and with service to match

Great service made to feel welcomed fantastic food plenty of variety as well presented well worth the money and great time too we will be back again and will recommend this place for any one who like quality food and service with a relaxing atmosphere

The Tavern offered wonderful food, well presented and tasty. The room was beautifully decorated, clean and welcoming. The desserts were fabulous. We had a fabulous Sunday lunchtime experience.

Five of us had the Sunday lunch carvery on Mothering Sunday. The meal was beautiful, both mums really enjoyed it and we will definitely be back!

Very good, hot plates, hot food. Very good brilliant fresh chips fantastic food. There were 6 of us for a birthday meSl and everybody had really really good food. Can't wait to go back. Would recommend.

This is a brilliant pub with exceptional food and always a lovely warm welcome as the owners do go that extra step in terms making you feel at home.

Very friendly staff and lovely food. We had starters (camembert and scallops) and main course (rump steak and sea bass). All were well presented and delicious.

Lovely village setting. Great choice of food and good selection of beers. Local band were also playing which was great and will definitely be back.

Another lovely meal and great atmosphere. We have been coming here for 10 years and it never fails to deliver good service food and drinks.

Excellent food, drink service and a super atmosphere, this isa real gem of an eating place in the Staffordshire countryside, it is highly recommended, but book early as it is very popular

Good food. Slow service (but they were busy). Main issue is satff (not the manager but one of his team), he wasn’t welcoming, didn’t communicate. I had to go chase him to go to the table after being there for 30 minutes, he didn’t give us menus. Just made our party feel a little unwelcome. Just didn’t seem to be the type of personable customer facing individual you’d expect to find.

Good restaurant pub with great selection of Gin's and Ales. Excellent Sunday Carvery !!! We would recommend this place to anyone. Give it a try and see for yourselves!

Very poor overlooked sea bass No flexibility over potatoe selection Extra selection ordered & payed for but. Chef dumpted original selection on plate Carbonara greasey/ swimming in oil & just tasteless - left 50% just got bored !

Staff all very friendly and helpful. All of our meals delicious, from a lovely selection. A couple of slips on the orders but nothing serious.

We have been to the Tavern a few times now since moving into the area. Excellent carvery on a Sunday. Good restaurant food and service all year round. Well worth a visit.

Good food served in a nice atmosphere ( even though there was a live band playing), but it was slow service to order food and very slow to finally get the food- but it was tasty and delicious when it arrived.

We went to the Tavern on a Friday night. We had great service & delicious food. Is there any more that we need to say!

Great Sunday Lunch - as always consistently good. The pub carries a great range of real ales, having been awarded many accolades by CAMRA and also has somewhere around 30 different gins.

We enjoyed our lunch very much the staff were very welcoming and the food was very good. We shall definitely be going back there soon.

The Tavern at Denstone - Excellent service even though it was very busy, food tasted beautiful, was freshly prepared and piping hot, staff were friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend.
