Besides The Tommyfield’s sterling British cuisine, made from only the freshest, locally-sourced and seasonal ingredients, there is a lot to be said for the physical form and Lambeth location of this excellent gastropub. The same standards of design and attention to detail apply to The Tommyfield’s heritage architecture and decor as to each and every one of the Three Cheers Pub Company’s stunning renovation projects. The Tommyfield, located along London’s Kennington Lane, features six distinctly decorated hotel rooms on the top two floors, plus a Master Bedroom, a private-hire function space that is both decorated in a tasteful vintage style and kitted out with the latest audio-visual gear for pumping parties.The Tommyfield’s remit may sound high-class, and indeed the trappings of buttoned-down English aristocracy are all there, but this spot in the Lambeth neighbourhood of Kennington is, at base, a classic London pub. Unpretentious, but with well-considered trimmings. A well-stocked bar is but the beginning – turn to The Tommyfield’s menus and be blown away by the range and sophistication on display there, all at reasonable prices.
