With its sleek modern design, The Townhead Hotel could easily pass as a chic modern bar, serving up a great range of wines, real beers and creative cocktails. Instead, The Townhead Hotel doubles as arguably Lockerbie’s best British restaurant, serving up delicious pub meal classics with their own twist. For something heart-warming it’s hard to pass up familiar British standards like the locally sourced lamb rump or smoked Barony salmon, but if you want some authentic Scottish tastes then definitely try the towered haggis, neeps n tatties with whisky cream sauce, or an ‘Arbroath Smokie’ (traditional spring onion fishcake with tomato chutney) is a real local treat. There are plenty of vegetarian (don’t miss the vegetable Kiev with new potatoes), gluten-free and vegan options, as well as delicious housemade desserts and a dedicated kids menu, so The Townhead Hotel is great for families and large groups looking for a satisfying meal in Lockerbie.
First time at the Townhead and certainly won't be the last. All round great experience with first class food and service to match. Keep up the good work.
Delicious food in an extremely comfortable hotel with a very friendly atmosphere. A cut above a typical pub meal but without all the pretentious rigmaroll of a 1st class restaurant
Lovely food. Would of been a 6 but given the conversation from the people sitting at the bar when others are eating in the restraunt it was unpleasant. No one really wanted to hear about people being sick down them selfs. Wasnt impressed! Portion size of cheese cake was poor but was lovely to taste
