The food was very good but the service was very slow. This may have been because a wedding was taking place. Would like to see what the restaurant looks like after the refurbishment as it looked rather sad with the floors having been prepared for the refurb.
The restaurant wasn’t busy but we struggled to get any attention from the staff. The food took over an hour to come out and nobody checked to see if we had everything. There were missing parts to meals and no condiments. The food was lukewarm and not worth the price. When complaining, the waitress and manager just shared very flat apologies with no gesture of goodwill or enquiries to ask how they could improve. Never going back. It ruined what was an otherwise lovely day in Greenwich.
Lovely atmosphere, but - we had to ask for the butter for the starter, it said there would be butter, we had ti ask for salt and pebber, the salt was empty.., it took 20 minutes befor our starter plates where taken, and again 30 minutes befor the main course came. I afsked for one glass of wine, I was afsked if I wanted a bottle, I answered, no one glass, I was then asked, two glasses, NO. So unfortunately it did absolutely NOT live up to my expectation for a lovely evening on our last day in England. Best pub along the Thames, dont Think so...
Excellent venue, friendly and accommodating staff, fantastic views of the river. Would recommend this venue for a quick drink or a formal dinner. Will definitely be coming back.
Incredibly slow service. Also got our drinks and food orders wrong. Felt forgotten about in the corner inside whilst it was busy outside. Main courses were cold. Disappointing.
Great food for meat eaters and vegetarians who want dairy free, plus a selection of real ales. Superb service by the team. Recommend a visit.
Fantastic location especially on a sunny day. Food was good. Staff were obliging and friendly. Not just one for the tourists! Worth giving it a try.
Really lovely location and staff are friendly, but the service is really slow and a bit chaotic - they were understaffed for a busy Saturday lunch time and we were constantly having to flag people down to chase things we'd ordered but hadn't received, ask for cold, dirty starter plates to be removed before the mains were put down, etc. Food itself was OK - nothing to write home about, but serviceable enough pub grub.
Been here 4 times over the past 5 yrs for the “Sunday Roast”! The best in London!! Delicious food, great service, wonderful view and atmosphere!
Trafalgar Tavern is in a very nice location overlooking the Thames. Food and service very good. Our experience (there were 5 of us) was very good.
Terrible service and inconsistent food - also overpriced. Would like to go back - great location - but based on our experience will have to pass and go elsewhere
A restaurant I like and frequent fairly often but I have never thought about it in detail before and have never been asked to complete one of these things. I had lunch today with a friend who had never been before. It is therefore best to reflect her reactions. The ambience on a sunny spring day with the Thames practically in touching reach outside the window, the period feel, the history, the decor all very impressive - 6; the service wasn't rushed but was attentive and correct - 6; we had to have the whitebait - I always do - but so did she and it scores a 6; the main course was well cooked and very tasty but perhaps could have been better presented - 5. I didn't pay but the price was good value in my view. RS
starter was great. Rack of Lamb very small for the price and not very tender. Service was very extremely poor considering the very high prices
The place was buzzing. Staff were attentive and helpful. The food was excellent. Our party of four all had a great time and the location, overlooking the Thames is wonderful. It was so difficult not to automatically choose the whitebait but I opted for trout salad - delicious. One of the party is ‘gluten free’ which proved no problem at all. The remaining two had the Sunday Roast - wow, what a good amount of food! And puddings - could have eaten them all. Love that the place smells kind of wood-smokey - owing to the fire. Will definitely return.
Service was rather slow; the vegetables with my hake main course were very underdone; likewise the apple and pastry of my tarte tatin. My wife liked her fish and chips - the chips were the largest we have ever seen! Just seven chips were more than enough. In fact she passed two over to me and left one on her plate. The view from our window table was great. Interesting place with all its nautical history so well worth going for that alone.
This is a rare and very special location in London. I'll never get used to the view out onto the river. The food is good too !
Food and service are very good (roasted squash and kale appetizer was amazing), but I had forgotten how incredibly noisy it can get in there. All hard surfaces and highish ceilings. No tablecloths or curtains or anything to soften the noise. We tired of shouting at each other.
It's a lovely looking pub with an incredible view. Our waiter was very friendly. Unfortunately the food was not great - not a great deal of love had gone into it.
The food is very average, wonderful scenery and service good. I love this pub and was disappointed that the quality of the food is not as good as it used to be.
The Trafalgar has the best river view in London Spectacular specially at high tide. The food was very good . Except for a very over cooked hamburger and at full cheese. Board(£10.59) Fish and chips were excellent , as was the very rare rack of lamb , though it came as 2 chips rather than a rack and was a little overpriced at £23. Good deserts. The occasion was made by the service and our delightful waitress . She was funny and sweet and very helpful .
Food good. Service very poor. Room was cold. Generally felt it was overpriced. Unlikely to go again in the near future. It was disappointing really.
I always say the same about this fantastic place but it’s the truth. Amazing views, delicious food and great service.
Seated In cold ingested area, food took 70 mins to arrive, was cold when it did arrive, and lamb and beef was tough. Skipped dessert and won’t be returning. Seems to have gone downhill.
Fantastic as usual. To come back again and again. Amazing views. Great service.
The most excellent location on the Thames overlooking Canary Wharf and the O2. Very friendly service and great menu, Had the risotto, it was tasty but a little cold - offer a student discount which is helpfukl
Fantastic setting, great food. would definitely return. Was perfect for works do.
Excellent traditional meal in a famous, and delightfully unspoilt, river-side tavern. The menu was not over-long offering a good choice. Service was good, not fussy. Terrific river views.
Really lovely setting and great views of the river. Food was OK, we had chicken and pork roast dinners. Both of which were warm, not hot, and the taste was average. Service was poor, we had to strain to get attention for basic service and had to ask for the bill 3 times.
Great venue. Lovely food and good and good service. A great way to warm up on a frosty Sunday in London. Nice river view ad well.
Was very cold in the area we were sitting. The food was nice though not hot and Yorkshire pudding burnt. The merlot was lovely though. Staff not very attentive apart from when we were paying !
The ambience very nice, with a great view of the river, and the décor looks authentic. I had a chicken salad that was poor but the chocolate fondant dessert was one of the best I've had. Friends enjoyed their meals...more hearty than a salad. I'd go back and try something else.
Very atmospheric old pub on the banks of the Thames in historic Greenwich. Small but decent brunch menu, with some breakfast classics. Service adequate, but maybe a little quiet on a Sunday morning.
A great place to enjoy Sunday lunch with the family, whilst enjoying wonderful views of the River Thames. Need another seven words for word count.
The restaurant has a great location and the service is adequate rather than brilliant. Pies were delicious and the fish and chips and the mussels were very good. Plenty of garlic bread with the latter. Calamari starter, nice but overpriced. 8 pieces £8. Wine choice good.
Very smart pub in a great location. The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent (homemade fougasse, lobster ravioli). Nice wine too, reasonably priced.
A lovely pub, located right on the river front - which is a little disconcerting at high tide! Wonderful staff, delicious food and great views...recommend for all types of diners/pub-goers
Waited an hour for our starters , the squid was soo over cooked it was just crumbs . Then another 40 minuets for the main . Had to ask twice for sauce, ketchup and salt and pepper . Staff completely not interested .
Great location - literally on the river. Love the vibe inside & the food was great. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Greenwich and in need of a good pub lunch.
We sat in one of the bow windows with a glorious view of the Thames. Overall we had a lovely visit to this historic venue. Would recommend.
The food was excellent and so was the service. I was a little disappointed that everybody was clearing up to go home - chairs on the tables etc. Before we left, which wa snot very late. DY
