We had an excellent evening with good service and tasty, well cooked food. The only reason I did not give a 6 marking was because there was no soya milk for my coffee. Apart from that it the staff were most helpful and although the restaurant was full the service was friendly and efficient.

The service was good but not great. One guy did not understand me when I asked where the restaurant was! We were brought water and a menu straight away and the timing of the food was excellent. The food itself was wonderful. Mussels in white wine and cream sauce cooked to perfection. The Pearl barley risotto was creamy and light with a little bite left in the barley. Sides of onion rings and house salad with a mustard seed dressing were also excellent. The onion rings were extremely crunchy (which I love) and the house salad was enough for both of us. Pudding of crème brûlée and a chocolate fondant with ice cream were both warm enough to eat straight away and we're both excellent. Overall I had a great time and throughly enjoyed myself. We were sat near the window so had a beautiful view of the Thames at sunset too.

Food was excellent, best fish we've had in a long time. Service was polite although lacked a little enthusiasm. Requested a table with a view when booking and we were given a table with a lovely view overlooking the Thames. Unfortunately there was not much atmosphere but this could be because it was a quiet Monday night.

Lovely afternoon tea in characterful pub 😊 good selection and attentive staff service. Extra good value due to Groupon too...would recommend it to others to visit.

Good food and ambience - excellent views over the river- great fish and chips and kids pasta - lacklustre service- a bit slow-coffee machine broken.

Really good food , stunning location and great staff who went the extra mile for me to ensure my food allergy wasn't triggered. So impressed.

Lovely food. We go back quite frequently. It's a lovely spot on the river and the menu is varied. The service is really friendly if a little in formal.

Lovely meal with a fantastic view of the river. Good service. The decor is in keeping with the period. I will definitively be returning to this gem by the river.

Lovely setting with beautiful views of the river, good service by very attentive waiter. We had brunch which was good but the tomatoes and mushrooms were cold, as was the temperature in the room.

Booked the restaurant for Saturday lunch , wonderful food as always with a lonely atmosphere. Nothing beats luncheon with views of the Thames . My friends hadn't been to the pub before and were impressed Definitely coming back again - one of my favourites in Greenwich

Nice meal in a really nice place. Could have done with a table not next to the loud and boisterous birthday celebration in an otherwise empty restaurant, but only a minor point on a nice experience. Will come again.

We were given a table with a great view of the river. Food was very good, arrived in a timely manner and was of a high standard. Service was a little hit and miss - we had to ask a few times for condiments, etc. But overall, a lovely lunch.

My mum and I love the Tavern. The food is never a disappointment and the staff are just excellent. We came to the Trafalgar on Christmas Eve and I really felt looked after despite it being such a busy and special day for everything! I would thoroughly recommend this joint to anyone wanting a slice of good quality "London", with brilliant food, service and views! We will of course be back again very soon.

Has a historic atmosphere and great view of Thames. Staff were polite. Prosecco with afternoon tea was quite good. Afternoon tea was not the best in terms of quality but nor was it anything to complain about.

nice setting but the staff would not change food order (for a steak) 4 mins after ordering it - the food I didn't want arrived 1 hour 40 minutes later. had to ask for everything - drinks. lots of people walked out as food failed to arrive.

Great building in a wonderful place overlooking the Thames. Lovely interior with a calm and comfortable atmosphere. Friendly and helpful staff. The food however is disappointing, lacking flair and flavour- all a little over cooked. The local ales perfect but that was to be expected.

Average experience, took a while to be seated despite the dining room being mostly empty. We had to ask twice and it took twenty minutes. Food was nice and the service was good but it wasn't anything special. The noise from the bar and the dim lighting in the dining room was a little uncomfortable so we didn't stay for desserts.

Really good srvice and food on quite a busy day as the Tall Ship regatta was taking place on Easter Sunday. The view was great too. The only thing is that the roast dinners are on the expensive side but then you are paying to eat in a lovely historic pub on the river.

This is such an interesting and historic building in a superb location. The service was good. The food so so. It was heaving with Sunday lunch people and Christmas parties. Nice atmosphere.

Beautiful ambience and pretty OK food. The service was fine too. No complaints. The whitebaits are a must try, deep friend but soft inside, they've been serving them here for a couple of centuries.

Positive 1st experience at The Trafalgar Tavern, re-visited recently for a friends birthday lunch. Nothing was too much trouble, staff very attentive, quick service, large Sunday roasts and lovely atmosphere with views out onto The Thames!

Great service and very well met requests of a table with loads of space around for our party's 4 buggies. Good food, but could have been warmer when it came. Good selection of beers.

Excellent food, came for Sunday roast. Desserts on the small side so expensive at seven pounds. Lovely view of the river, good service. Will come back.

Great, we really loved the food and the table staff were great and really lovely. The restaurant manager, maybe if that was his role, was a little heavy handed and a little charmless with the other staff which seem more than a little harsh. The food was great though and the location is lovely

Food Good. Staff mixed. Had to go and find a waitress and ask for our table to be cleared. Mens toilets paint word in very poor condition. Sink tap handle missing. One hand dryer not working. In other words a completely neglected area.

Great views of the river Thames but only average food and quite expensive. It was very busy when we were there and this was reflected by the relatively slow service.

Very good food from pub but high tea was stale and store bought food, by the time they served us the cakes and sandwiches were dried out. It's a fine pub with friendly staff! I'd go a gain but I'd be selective on what I order..

Excellent location overlooking the Thames. If you order by 11.45am you can have the brunch menu, which is good value and there are more vegetarian options. You place your order and pay at the bar. The only vegetarian option on the Sunday lunch menu is roasted vegetable and mushroom wellington. Not all vegetarians like mushrooms. We all went for the full English and I had the vegetarian option. Some of the items on the plate were cold when it arrived whilst others were piping hot, otherwise the food was fine. Large portion sizes. It's a popular place for brunch so there is a little wait for the food.

There were 8 of us. Only 5 starters arrived. My daughters main course arrived with her starter so we sent it back. We asked them to check the main courses and they only had 5 in their system so we reordered causing a delay. The food was poor. Goats cheese tart all tart no cheese and tasted horrible. Lamb fillets were burnt and dry. pork belly was dry and crackling soggy, mash potato dry as if it had been out all night. Fish and chips was acceptable but hard to cock this up really. I will never go back!

Booked this restaurant to celebrate the 1st Wedding Anniversary with the wife. Brilliant food (everything on the menu is absolutely delicious), reasonably priced menu options with room to have more premium options if you should desire, brilliantly attentive and friendly staff, and the restaurant is conveniently next to a warm and busy pub. Add in the beautiful views of the water, looking across to the millennium dome, and it was an ideal setting for a couple looking for a cosy break. Can not recommend enough!

Still a nice meal but food did not seem to be of the usual excellent quality today - the quality of the meats on the roasts today not as good as usual excellent standards and for £18 a roast which is not cheap a little below par today. Staff friendly and attentive and ambience of the place still great though on a sunny day hard to beat.
