Located in Thorpe Thewles, The Vane Arms is charming country pub, perfect for fueling up after a day roaming the surrounding area, a traditional Sunday lunch or a cosy evening meal. The interior is just as picturesque as The Vane Arms’ surrounds, with old fashioned decor adding to its rural charm. Crafted from local produce, the menu boasts an array of hearty British dishes and traditional pub fare, with brunch, lunch and dinner options all available. We recommend the haggis scotch egg followed by the beer-battered North Sea cod with hand-cut chips. Complete your experience off with a bottle of wine from the small but carefully curated selection, or some real cask ale or cider. Popular with locals as well as visitors to the Stockton-on-Tees area, The Vane Arms can get busy, so book ahead in order to guarantee a table!
The meal was excellent. The service was friendly and helpful. In all a Good quality Sunday lunch. The trsurant was pleasant and warm and local to home.
We enjoyed our meal here once again. Great food great atmosphere attentive staff warm and cosy on a freezing cold night. No rushing between courses just great. One small criticism fries with the battered cod chips would of been much better. I’m sure if we gas realised and asked this would of been accommodated
Great as always, tried Friday night instead of Sunday lunch and it was ace
Food was gorgeous, service was excellent and the wine list was great.. 3 course for £19.95 was fantastic value.. we go to the game often and it never disappoints
The food was outstanding. We ordered from the 'set menu' and it was really good value for money. The sticky toffee pudding was the best I've had. It only loses 1 star due to it costing more money to have 4 glasses of wine, than ordering a bottle and we weren't informed of this until we got the bill. However, we will definitely go back as the food was so good.
A lovely little pub with great food. The staff are friendly and really attentive. Only criticisms I would have is it's a little chilly when you first sit down, and the lights could be dimmed slightly as it is a little bright, but these are small issues and I would still highly recommend!
Lovely meal, helpful and friendly staff and gorgeous surroundings - only the coffee at the end let it down! Latte was mostly froth (at least half a cup full) and very little coffee! They did change it, but then brought me the same thing again... so I gave up and had a a filter coffee! It didnt spoil a nice meal though.
Arrived on time and met with a friendly greeting ordered drinks and showed to our table straight away.we ordered starters and mains which all arrived looking and tasting really nice, the waiters were really good asking if everything was ok and asking if we needed anymore drinks.a very enjoyable evening and will be visiting again.
Beautiful quirky little pub with vg restaurant. Limited but well appointed lunch-time menu and great evening al carte. Nicely constructed wine list and interesting specials board. Introduced here 6 months ago by a business colleague and been three times since. Well recommended.
Greeted with a roaring fire on a very cold day which was lovely. The staff were very friendly and efficient and the food was very good. Excellent winter lunch accompanied by some good real ale. Recommend the wild boar and apple sausage with mash and red cabbage.
