Quiet Sunday Lunch. Probably because England were playing in the World Cup. Everything fine except for raw pastry on the bottom of the pie and black roast potatoes.

Had a disappointing night at this place. No atmosphere whatsoever and very young inexperienced staff. Meal was only average and very limited choice as a couple of things on menu where unavailable although the specials board which was far more expensive was available and staff seemed to be pushing this.

Consistently top quality dining experience in a very comfortable environment, a place you want to keep coming back too. Staff who look after you are the best you'll find anywhere.

Nicepub nice staff, food second rate. Overcooked, soggy greasy chips (how can you make chips inedible??) And overcooked roast chicken. It was like cardboard. Pretty poor fare to be honest.

Excellent Sunday lunch with great service from staff and very popular with locals. You should probably book in advance. Easy parking and easy to find overlooking the green in Thorpe Thewles

We are so pleased we found this little gem. We had scallops and scotch egg for starter. My partner said the scallops were cooked perfectly and the scotch egg was delicious. Mains we had burger and fish a chips which were so good! Food was reasonably priced. Will certainly be going back!

We enjoyed our meal here once again. Great food great atmosphere attentive staff warm and cosy on a freezing cold night. No rushing between courses just great. One small criticism fries with the battered cod chips would of been much better. I’m sure if we gas realised and asked this would of been accommodated

Unfortunately our main course was served warm rather than hot, especially the vegetable served in side dishes, this spoilt the main part of a 3 course meal. Enjoyed the rest of the meal.

Greeted with a roaring fire on a very cold day which was lovely. The staff were very friendly and efficient and the food was very good. Excellent winter lunch accompanied by some good real ale. Recommend the wild boar and apple sausage with mash and red cabbage.

Beautiful quirky little pub with vg restaurant. Limited but well appointed lunch-time menu and great evening al carte. Nicely constructed wine list and interesting specials board. Introduced here 6 months ago by a business colleague and been three times since. Well recommended.

A beautiful country pub with roaring open fires and friendly staff that all help to create a really lovely atmosphere. It's that nice little hide away that's actually on your doorstep!
