December 2018 Christmas lunch party for 8. Food was excellent and service was attentive without being intrusive. Everyone enjoyed it. Always a warm atmosphere here.

Delicious, good quality food and a welcoming atmosphere. There is also a lovely selection of cosy sofas for snuggling up by the fire with a drink from The Gin Shed.

A delightful setting and helpful staff, serving tasty and well presented food to a high standard. One attractive feature is the comfy sofas and cosy sitting area to have or retire to for coffee after the meal.

Really nice friendly, clean, modern little village pub/restaurant B&B, With a great Gin Shed! Food exceptionally good, I would of given a rating of 6 if the final presentation was tweaked a little, I have the steak which I have had on different occasions, but just the faboulous steak and bowl of chips on the plate looks flat/dull ! A little salsa salad or leaf or sauce drizzle would look stunning, although tastes amazing and cooked to perfection. Highly recommend this place

Very quiet and lacking atmosphere on a Saturday lunchtime - only one other table eating. We had burgers which were quite disappointing. Limited vegetarian options.

Excellent welcome and very pleasant inn. However the food was the reason we’d chosen this venue and it was disappointing mainly because it wasn’t served hot. This was our second visit but sadly our last.

I had a business meeting and the food was very nice and the service swift without being overpowering. The Guinness was up to scratch too. We even shook hands with the chef.

lovely pub food very good, but only 2 people in there. I would say limited menu more like a restaurant. Could do with having lighter options for lunch.

Had “early bird” menu - limited choice and some of items on wider menu not on early bird menu despite being same price or cheaper! Pub now nicely decorated with cosy lounge area and log fire.

Food was ok although quite small portions. We were there for Sunday lunch - I had pheasant which was quite tough but tasted ok although a bit lacking in taste. My son had lamb which he said was good and his girlfriend had chicken on mushroom sauce which was very small. Desserts were very small and probably frozen - very average. Staff were not very friendly or attentive and the place generally lacked atmosphere

The food was delicious and service great but the evening was ruined by a wedding party with a young child that cried loudly the whole time we were there we left at 9.15 and it was still crying what a pity not the childs fault just inconciderate parents

LOVELY MEAL, I had Fillet Steak, medium, perfect cook, my wife had Pork Escalope, it was really lovely but it’s far too much, enjoyed the evening, the owner, Chef & waitress are made us feel welcome, we definitely go back again, many thanks.

We absolutely loved it! We'll definitely return and bring our friends - especially for the gin shed (and the breakfast Heinrich!). Our 2 night stay, to attend a friends wedding, turned into a delightful mini-break.

Stayed at the village inn for one night for our wedding anniversary, booked the restaurant, lovely atmosphere, staff friendly and knowledgable regarding different steaks and fish available. Treated ourselves to the chateaubriand steak for two and we both strongly agreed that it was the best steak we've ever had, melted in your mouth. Chef Heinrich also managed the impossible , one half medium the other medium rare! Delightful. Can also recommend the white bait to start, fabulous! Also had fun choosing from the many many different gins from the gin shed. Lovely after dinner drinks. Peaceful nights sleep and lovely soak in the tub. Thank you Village Inn

Food was fantastic. Love warm plates and hot food you need to blow on before you eat it. Service was excellent. Happy to pay a bit extra for pub food which is really good. Sticky toffee pudding to die for. Decaf coffee the best I've had in a long time. We will be back. Well done guys.
