About Tinto Tapas - West End
Glasgow may be more renowned for the Barras than its barrios, but at Tinto Tapas on Hyndland Street in the West End, you can experience a taste of Spanish cuisine in the Dear Green Place. Its location is enviable – right by Kelvinhall subway and a short hop from Partick railway station – and its welcome is as warm as an afternoon by the pool in Benidorm. The menu features all the favourites beloved of anyone who’s ever had the pleasures of the back streets of Barcelona, so what are you waiting for? Gather up your amigos and dander on down to the Costa del Clyde for a superb Spanish supper.

A splash of Spanish sun is sometimes necessary in the often grey climes of Glasgow, and at Tinto Tapas, you can be sure of finding one. Their tapas menu is among the finest in Glasgow, and their drinks list is packed with wines guaranteed to get your night out rioja-ing and rolling. If you bring enough folk with you – and, if you’ve ever had tapas, you’ll know that a large group is the way to go, amigo – you can get the full spread of Spanish favourites on your trip to Hyndland Street in Glasgow’s West End.
Of course, when feeding a large group, it can be hard to please everyone, but at Tinto Tapas, the Spanish small plates selection is guaranteed to have something to suit all tastes. Seafood specialists will love the range of prawn, squid, hake and cod options – as well as, of course, the paella – and landlubbers will appreciate the meat and chicken tapas selection. That isn’t to forget the vegetarians either; they’ll be well-served by the patatas bravas, the Spanish omelette or any of the other choices on the extensive meat-free menu. All we can say is that if you’re planning a party, or looking for a place to start off your West End night out, then you will struggle to do better than this Hyndland Street tapas bar – so book your table now and head on out to the West End.
What a fantastic evening we had. Although the restaurant was quiet, the ambiance was welcoming and as for the food .... simply stunning. Would highly recommend Tinto Tapas to all
Absolutely love going to Tintos, even on the tasting nights you get really good portion sizes and the food is always delicious. Have literally made it a goal to try everything on the menu!
We had Wonderful food. Had the wine of the month which was terrific. Fantastic service. Fantastic variety of tapas. And good value. What's not to like?
The food was delicious and well presented. The service was efficient and staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant has a lovely ambience and would highly recommend it.
Good ,authentic food with an excellent choice. Nice homely feel to the place too. I did not feel like i was in a chain restaurant. The salt cod with chorizo and black pudding which i ordered was as good as anything i have tasted quite possibly ever. The Churros were also outstanding. A couple of dishes were just good rather than great but nothing was poor. Friendly service too although perhaps a little slow but i like to take my time in restaurants when i eat out so that suited me fine but might not suit everyone. I would definitely go back and hope to do so in the near fiture.
This is a very good relatively small but comfortable tapas restaurante. Conveniently located with reasonable on-street parking and good public transport links. Staff were very welcoming and attentive and mainly native Spanish speakers. Menus are available in both English and Spanish. Food was well cooked and presented. Prices for both food and drink were good value. I would certainly recommend Tinto as an authentic Spanish eating place and plan to make a return visit.
Great place for an informal meal with friends or family. Friendly, helpful staff, tasty tapas in a relaxed environment. We went on tapas Tuesday and it was busy but we felt neither hurried nor ignored by the Spanish staff, who tolerated my amateurish attempts at a few Spanish words with good grace. Great to visit with a group & share tapas to enjoy a great range of flavours.
Nice pleasant experience , offered a nice able following our reservation. Only criticism of the evening would be that one of the dishes / tapas did not arrive until meal was almost over, when it did arrive the food was cold. However, pleasant service and nice ambience helped our party of four to experience what was expected, a nice calm quality early evening supper.
really good food and wine at Tinto's. Good service and nice staff. I happened to leave two concert tickets for a nearby venue on our table, and the manager found me in the queue to retunr them before I was aware of the matter. A 300m sprint each way was a kind gesture.
Authentic Spanish food at a very reasonable price. Wine fine, staff friendly, seating comfortable BUT the lighting was so low that we couldn't properly see our food. Ambience might be what they are going for but, sadly, the effect of the extremely dim lighting on me was actually a dulling of what might otherwise have been a very pleasant experience. Sorry, but I can't see me going back, certainly not in the evening or on a dull day.
Fantastic restaurant. Selection of food is brilliant, atmosphere is lovely and is great value for money. We had a three tapas deal with drinks included deal. The wine included was much better than we expected and the draft lager is top notch too. Look forward to going back soon.
Food was superb and the range of dishes is outstanding and varied. It was my first visit to Tinto to celebrate my first wedding anniversary with my wife and we were both very impressed. We will be back. Top marks for everything from the food, decor and the staff.
Quality of food good service not so good but compensated by free coffees etc. Staff lovely just one waitress not enough with not the best understanding of Glasgow accents. Took at least an hour before anything arrived Have been with small groups and service was fine - just not staffed to deal with a party of 11 which was a shame as you couldn't falt the food or how pleasant the staff were
Fantastic menu, great choice! Good was delicious and staff lovely! Great value for money - we had 9 tapas dishes, 1 kids meal, 1 dessert, 2 large glasses of wine, 2 beers and 2 soft drinks - £45.....fantastic! Enjoyed every minute of it!
Lovely food, wine and service. Great place to enjoy the atmosphere, surroundings, music and culture. Staff were attentive but not intrusive and had good recommendations on food/wine. A lovely night, thank you.
Had a wonderful early Mother's Day here on Saturday, great food, great service and great price! I was so full! Thanks for the great time we will be back soon!
A very enjoyable evening in a nice restaurant. The choices on the menu were excellent and very varied and the food was excellent. Very welcoming staff, will be back.
Great food, great service. The Tuesday night deal is exceptional value and definately gives you the opportunity to try things you maybe wouldn't normally. Happy to go back anytime.
We had a lovely evening. The food was excellent as always and the different taps mean you have many flavours in small dishes. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Great food and service, we had the chicken and mixed seafood paella for two which, was excellent. I will definitely go back to try the tapas menu 😀
Lovely attentive waiter, varied selection of tapas, seafood salad, gambas pil pil delicious as was black pudding with duck egg & a nice wine to wash it all down, then a strawberry daiquiri ,will definatly be back
We always have a great experience at Tintos West End. The food is fantastic, authentic Spanish Tapas and the friendly Spanish staff are very helpful and accommodating!
Amazing food, great value for money! Staff are lovely and great atmosphere in the restaurant, love this place! Best tapas in Glasgow! Will definitely be back soon!
Very nice service, tapas were authentic, real food!! The red wine we chose was very smooth. a good busy atmosphere, Good value. First visit .Will go again
Excellent, food was quick and had a good choice of menu, would definitely go back, although it was the Uddingston restaurant me and my girlfriend tried.
Excellent value, friendly staff, great Sangria and an extensive menu give this smallish restaurant an authentic Spanish feel, I would recommend to anyone who likes Tapas.
Food really lovely, great choice. Atmosphere, slightly louder than I like, but it was the weekend before Xmas. Service slower than expected, but staff really pleasant and polite! Overall highly recommended.
Fantastic restaurant with a wide range of amazing delicious food and friendly staff who do everything they can to make your visit an enjoyable one
Lovely food and excellent service, this was our first visit and won't be our last. Really nice relaxed atmosphere , the chirps were really lovely.
Food was excellent, staff very friendly and helpful although restaurant was busy, nothing was too much trouble. Restaurant is very clean and very busy. Excellent.
Great food and very friendly knowledgeable staff who made recommendations based on our preferences. Very good wine choice as well. We will certainly return again.
Very good tapas restaurant - the food was delicious and staff friendly and attentive. The wine list was carefully chosen and even the house wine was excellent. Definitely going back!
Superb, would recommend to anyone. Thanks again for a pleasant evening. Had to wait a wee while due to the busyness of the place, which is always a good sign.
the service was quite slow and laid back but I rather enjoyed it! Good was delicious and the atmosphere was fantastic, loved the music and the cocktails also!
I would have given it 4.5 if I could have. The service was fine and friendly without being intrusive The house wine was good. The food was tasty but the chicken (skewers) was dry.
Food was lovely and friendly service , in a quaint atmospheric restaurant . Dishes were all delicious with plenty of choice from the menu, recommend the meatballs
A good lunchtime deal - three tapas for £7.95, with a good range of choices. The tortilla had been reheated, but everything else seemed freshly made. Service quick and pleasant. Would go again.
Good food and very friendly new staff. Fair prices for both food and drinks. Portions still slightly on the small side (including desserts) versus similar establishments.
Very pleasant staff, but waited too long for our meal to arrive, food was good,a little disappointed with portions. But we did enjoy the atmosphere and decor, not sure of a return visit though ...
Very good food and ambience!! The staff is extremely kind and efficient!! Excellent selection of wines!! Strongly recommend it for a good meal!! To repeat!!
Food amazing, every dish we ordered (All 14) so tasty. Great service and the house wine was very good . Can't wait to go back.
Love this place, slightly disappointed this visit as most of our choices weren't available. Management were very apologetic and gave us complimentary soft drinks but for 6pm on a Tuesday not really the best! Hope our next visit will redeem itself
Pleasant environment in the West End of Glasgow. Under new management. Food was nice, but portions could have been bigger for the price. Especially the Morcilla!
Decent tapas, reasonable service. Some fish portions small. King prawns very good. Tapas Tuesdays good value. Tables a little small but it is cafe style eating.
Having been to the tinto tapas in Uddingston we were a little disappointed with the food, although nice. Not as good as our local Tinto
Usually rave about this tapas bar as one of my favourites but this time Not as good as usual am afraid , not a good move if it continues like this
Nice service great staff . Good fitout.hreatbwine. But poor food. Not flavoured enough for a Spanish restaurant. Far too mild and subtle. Missed and stale parts of some dishes .
Service good, food has been better on previous visits, thought the restaurant was a bit untidy, wine boxes lying around and dips etc not covered
