The crew behind Tomahawk Steakhouse Newcastle have been busy lately. Very busy, in fact. Sister restaurant to the original in Potto, this Argentinian steakhouse has a lot to live up to – and it does just that with flying colours. The layout and design of the restaurant itself is chic, elegant and stylish – allowing for intimate meals for two, as well as livelier nights with all your crew. Then, of course, there is the food. Steak is quite clearly the name of the game at Tomahawk Steakhouse in Quayside and you can take your pick from a variety of cuts, sourced from all around the world, as well as fresh seafood and other dishes that are well worth a look. Located along Quayside, Tomahawk Newcastle is a must for lovers of all things bovine, but reservations in advance are essential to avoid disappointment.
Now, let’s break down the menu at Tomahawk Steakhouse Newcastle, shall we? To get you in the mood for some juicy steaks, we advise ordering up a few starters to share. Some of our favourites from this Quayside restaurant include the crispy lobster mac ‘n’ cheese balls served with tarragon cream and watercress; the baked camembert with marinated vegetables, garlic toast and onion chutney and the extremely moreish pork, chilli and red pepper meatballs. This, alongside a bottle of wine or your favourite cocktail is the perfect way to kickstart your meal at Tomahawk Steakhouse Newcastle in Quayside.
Then, it’s time for steak. There is an extensive selection of cuts on offer at Tomahawk Steakhouse, so whether you’re partial to a perfectly seared rump; chateaubriand or rib-eye fillet, you’ll be well catered for. With each steak you can select two sides to accompany it, and the team can recommend the perfect way the cut should be cooked. If steak isn't quite your thing, the seafood selection is exquisite and we can’t get enough of the lemon sole served with saffron potatoes, salad and a lemony king prawn butter. Tomahawk Steakhouse Newcastle is a steak lovers paradise, so get booking and make your way to Quayside!
Absolutely lovely tasty food and nice atmosphere. Lovely cocktails too and friendly staff. Nice outside seating area to have drinks in the sunshine. Bar upstairs nice too
Lovely restaurant, great deco, attentive staff, delicious food, varied menu, good house white wine, great views, and generally good atmosphere, plus love the cows!! 😊
Probably the best sunday dinner i have had in a long time. The beef for myself was perfect but other would find it too pink. I would suggest the staff actually ask customer how they like it. Cant wait to come back and try the rest of the menu.
Fantastic food and great staff / service. We had a lovely evening. Will be back! I also love the Tomahawk at Potto which is fab too!
Lovely restaurant and bar, service was good We had the steak and the lobster Steak was amazing loads of choices if you like your meat would definitely recommend the porterhouse cooked rare delicious and the sides were great Lobster was tasty but on the small side, maybe I’m just greedy! Would go for the steak only When I visit next time
The staff were lovely and couldn’t do enough for us. When my starter arrived cold, three different members of staff came over to apologise. We had the early bird specials which was great value for money. I’ll definitely recommend to friends and family and will probably come back myself. I hope they manage to succeed where others have failed in that location.
My wife had the “Wagyu” burger which tasted more like a slice of meatloaf. I had the “Yorkshire” Wagyu steak. Having only had Wagyu steak once in Thailand in an American restaurant which was the original from Japan (Kobe) some 5 years ago I was really looking forward to the Yorkshire version. Needless to say I was very disappointed as one third of it was just fat not a nice piece of nice marbled meat and very tender that I was expecting. It was also overpowered by the barbecue grill taste. I did not complain to the young, very polite and attentive waitress but cowardly decided to do it this way. As the restaurant has only been open 2 weeks and 2 days we probably made a mistake. Great looking restaurant but don’t be sucked in by this watered down version of Wagyu.
Restaurant was lovely but not impressed with an “optional” service charge being put on with the customer having to request it taken off otherwise automatically charged.... I understand it’s something that’s added to large parties but not couple! I can imagine people will just pay as they will be embarrassed to say no!
Over priced when you pay that much for steak, sauces should be part of the price as they are at Miller and Carter. Paid £100 but came out not feeling satisfied. Sides tasty but small. Large plate with not much to place on it. The setting was nice but not very warm, why have air con and drafty windows when it's freezing outside. I like to eat my food in the comfort of a nice warm restaurant. On the plus side cocktails very nice.
Service was excellent, staff very attentive, first round of drinks came garnished looked lovely and what you would expect at 6.50 a drink, second round of drinks didn't, starters were nice, mains were good except steak wasn't cooked how ordered ordered medium rare, came well done, no pink at all, desserts were nothing special, everything else was good.
