Amazing food and great service. Will be visiting again :)
Nicest steak I’ve eaten, will definitely be coming back 😊
Great venue and atmosphere to catch with old friends....food was great so made the night as none of us had been before. Thanks
First time visit & will not be the last, waiting staff were fab, food amazing & great value!
One of our party had some intolerances and the staff could not be more helpful in resolving menu choices around the intolerances. Food was superb. Again one of the party did not get a medium steak but a medium rare one but could not attract a waitress to correct. Ate around the outside medium cooked bit and mentioned when collecting plates. Manager most apologetically, took it to show the head Chef and removed it from bill and provided gratis coffees. I had the waygu rib eye steak (£37) , a little more pricey but fantastic. Ate at some great steak places around the world and this is up there with them on taste. Cooked to perfection at medium rare. Fortunately we were upstairs, (by negotiation) , as the ground floor is quite noisy. They put 10% service charge on the bill, which is not something I like as I assess the quality of service and the tip, which in this instance was more for pretty good service. Only one of party made it to deserts with a fab selection of icecreams. As for the rest of us, too full, I couldn't even eat breakfast next morning. Wine list could do with a review as the Shiraz was a young 2018 one, although quite palletable, and we had three. Overall, not cheap, but that was through choice of cuts, from £17 to something like £60 if you can eat more than 2lb of steak. Bill for 4 people two courses each and one had ice cream, two gins and three bottles of wine, 3 coffees, £260 if we had paid for the one steak deducted from the bill and coffee. Plus tip.
6 of us attended Tomahawk for the fist time for restaurant week to try the place out. Excellent choice. The food was divine and there was not a scrap left on anyones plate. Three courses for £15 especially for restaurant week. Amazing value. Wine very reasonably priced starting from £17.50. Calamari delicious, Chicken supreme best chicken dish ever, creme brulee is what it is but the others jam roly poly and rice pudding was devoured without any sharing. One of the group is extremely fussy and only ordered chips. When ordering a dessert from our menu it was explained that the chips and dessert would incur a £15 charge so we needed to order dessert from the a la carte menu. Excellent customer service as ive been to many a place where this would not be pointed out. Having tested the place with a good value menu we will now not hesitate to return. Fab.
Staff were absolutely fantastic and the restaurant was very clean and tidy. Service of food was efficient and nicely paced without being rushed. My only concern was the price of the menu for steaks. Don’t get me wrong, I like a good steak and don’t mind paying for it but a charge of over £25 for an 8oz fillet steak per person (especially when a child’s 4oz is £6) and the prices increase from there depending on what cut of meat you want, is way too expensive. Our meal cost £70 and we have alternatives on the menu (none steak) which were cheaper but still delicious. We did figure it out that a meal for 2 adults and 2 children (teens) to consume 8oz fillet steaks each, with a starter and drinks, would have cost in excess of £150. Sadly, we won’t be returning as a family but may return as a couple to enjoy the seriously good Chicken Katsu which we HIGHLY recommend.
After seeing some lovely reviews of this place I booked up for my boyfriend birthday. We sat and choose what we wanted the starter was lovely. And the extra prawns and lobster were super tasty on the mains but the let down was most definitely the steak. My other halfs was the wagu steak and was very fatty too fatty. My steak was overcooked and very tough. The ribs that went with my meal the sauce was not explained and was too hot and ruined them. When the waiter had came over to see if everything was alright we had only tried the prawns so we had said it was lovely. When the server came to take the plates away and noticed the food left on the plates we explained and she took 20% off the bill. Which was good however I hadn't ate half of my steak and hadn't touched my ribs. So to be honest paying £105 for not overall great meal was disappointing. May try it in the future but won't get steak foe the price of the steaks ans quality not worth it
I booked Tomahawk for a birthday meal for boyfriend with 7 other friends. Upon arrival we ordered some amazing Pornstar martinis which were on 2 for £10 which is amazing for a Saturday. Then when it came to being seated we were placed in the private dining area which just amazing. It made his birthday meal so much better and it was a really nice surprise! The food was also fantastic, some friends ordered the sharing board which they said was fantastic, the seafood starters were all great and the steaks were also fabulous! Overall the night and meal was a huge sucess and we will definitely be returning. Thanks to all the staff who waited on us on 21st April :)
First time for us as we usually go to Miller & Carter. I had chicken satay to start which was nice my husband had king prawn pil pil which he said had no taste to it at all. We all had fillet steak for main ordered medium and was cooked perfect. For me the food was lovely but the service not so good we were given menu’s but not a children’s menu so had to get up and ask for one. When we were out of drinks my husband had to get up mid meal and ask the bar staff for a drink when they brought this they did not take away the empty glass, same happened when I asked for another glass of wine they brought the wine but left the empty glass. We moved the empty glasses to the edge of the table with some of the starter plates but this was not cleared until we had finished and asked for the bill. The bill - my husband had to get up and go ask them for the bill and let them know we had finished all the staff seemed to be hanging around at the front desk chatting we did mention this and the bill was discounted by 20 percent but this ruined the experience for us unfortunately so we are just going to stick to M&C in future.
