We enjoyed our Sunday lunch at the Tomahawk Steakhouse. The service was quick, a lovely thick slice of medium cooked beef with Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, stuffing and lots of gravy. It came with some delicious red cabbage, cauliflower cheese and green beans with broccoli. The only reason for deducting 1 point was the vegetables were a little too undercooked for us, but that is just personal taste. We decided to have dessert, and they were very accommodating to my husband's request for sauce on his ice cream. I had creme brûlée with a delectable warm shortbread. The meal was rounded off with a coffee and a glass of port. A lovely way to spend a Sunday, we would recommend you try it.
Lovely location, though the view from the restaurant is mostly car park. Nice interior, busy but spacious, the tables are not crammed together. We went on a Friday night and though every table was taken, they didn't seem rushed and didn't hurry us out. Good service, quick, discreet. Don't bother going if you are a veggie, but for meat lovers the menu is great. Some familiar starters and some bit more unusual. I really liked the lobster mac and cheese balls in tarragon cream - 3 golf ball sized pieces in a crisp shell, delicate flavours but so nice. Most of the mains come with 2 sides which you can select from a long list. I definitely recommend the pulled pork and bbq beans. I had an after dinner cocktail of salted caramel martini which was sublime. Didn't use the facilities, cant speak to those. We were there for a birthday celebration and it's quite expensive so perhaps best saved for special evenings. We do want to go back for the Sunday lunch soon. Best place we have been in a very long time.
We visited the Tomahawk after numerous friends and colleagues had recommended it; both for the food quality and the service. When we arrived; the building itself seemed very well cared for, clean and tidy. The decor is modern and inviting, without feeling cold or impersonal. Our server, Sara, took us to our table and offered to explain anything from the menu. We chose main courses (with a view to having dessert!) so missed out in starters. My partner and I had the Chateuxbriand (medium rare) with Mac and cheese, hash browns, sweet potato fries and creamed peas. The food is exceptional. Every part of our meal was fantastically prepared and delicious. The steak was cooked brilliantly and the sides were just as good. We then shared the chocolate brownie and peanut butter chocolate bar for dessert. Again; absolutely fantastic! Delicious; without being heavy and stodgy. Sara was an excellent server; attentive, friendly and engaging. I couldn’t recommend the Tomahawk highly enough.
Weve just returned from Sunday lunch at the Tomohawk Steakhouse and it was fantastic. We have been trying to book for a few weeks now but always left it a little late and missed out. We were greeted and seated immediately upon our arrival and within 5 mins had drinks and menus in front of us. After ordering our lunch we had only a short wait until it was served, 2 beef and 1 pork Sunday lunch with a nice selection of vegetables. This isnt a fill your boots eating place more a top quality food cooked and served beautifully. The waiting staff all seem to drift about keeping everything flowing smoothly without any drama or confusion at all. The food was truly delicious and presented perfectly. The restaurant was quite busy but it was just peaceful and a really pleasant place to eat we will definitely be returning to try an evening meal very shortly.
Not what I was expecting. Upon arrival we got asked about drinks, my wife wasn’t sure what she wanted so we asked for some water whilst she decided, the waiter didn’t say there was any other alternative so just brought us a posh looking bottle of vossi water which was already open by the time it got to the table, these bottles have seal on them which was obviously broke by the time it reached us, he charged us £4.50 for this (the bottle was swiftly moved from the table once empty.....but the empty pint glass was left). Ok if there wasn’t an alternative but whilst sat waiting I overheard a waitress asking a different table if they wanted tap water or a bottle from the chiller? After we’d ordered our steak we sat waiting & chatting to again hear the table opposite being offered fresh bread & olives whilst they wait for their meal? We did not?, Maybe our waiter was new & just getting to grips with things?.......My wife’s steak (the fillet) was excellent but my Yorkshire Wagyu was quite disappointing. All in all not what I was expecting but would try again!!
Lovely food All that let this down was the booking Miscommunication and misunderstanding A gesture was made at the end however no understanding prior to attending and when explaining my disappointment on arrival with the way our meals were handled I tried to explain by calling several times first when adding on to make a larger table then it was that we were sent a large menu and miscommunication was then in flow as no one realises we wanted an early bird menu for the group We originally were a table of 3 that grew to 8 due to my idea to ask more clients and I would on reflection of avoided having to explain myself as I tried to iron out the confusion of the menu we were sent as it was the wrong one Not only that but we were sent an old on not even current So not as good as it could of been I will be returning as I really enjoyed the food but my experience was not as outstanding as I originally expected as I’d heard lots of good reviews
