Tom’s Kitchen Birmingham knows a thing or two about creating an infectious atmosphere, menus packed with creative takes on British classics and expertly mixed drinks. Founded by award-winning chef Tom Aikens, in addition to this space there are several branches peppered across London and Istanbul, all becoming go-to dining destinations for quality British fare and seriously delicious drinks. What’s not to love? You’ll find this stylish spot on Wharfside Street in Birmingham city centre where you’ll be wanting to arrive with an appetite and a reservation as Tom’s Kitchen Birmingham is a local favourite for a very good reason.
Tom’s Kitchen Birmingham, located in The Mailbox in the very centre of the city, is the newest addition to the Tom’s family and one that Brummies can’t get enough of. It’s a pretty relaxed, informal spot consisting of a restaurant, a bar and a deli, and British comfort food classics are to be expected from the menu. That said, given that seasonality and local produce is placed firmly at the forefront by Head Chef Tom Wells & his team, some outstanding seasonal specialities are to be expected as well. For lunch as well as dinner, Tom’s Kitchen Birmingham is the real deal.
Every menu at Tom’s Kitchen Birmingham is brimming with quality, of course, but it’s the dinner menu we’re most excited about. Start, perhaps, with salt cod brandade with pickled cucumbers and a dill oil, or an indulgent steak tartare with black garlic mayo, turnips, puffed rice and mustard seeds. For your main, there’s everything from a proper plate of fish and chips to roast topside of lamb and steamed mussels. Tom’s Kitchen Birmingham is true British dining and, if you haven’t tried it already, we’re sure you’re going to love it.
