The crowds and frequent queues at this Indian restaurant prove that Vanilla Spice has a recipe which keeps locals very happy. The first ingredient seems to be friendly service, as each guest at this Indian favourite on Howard Close in Bishpool is greeted as if an old friend and guided through the diverse menu by knowledgeable wait staff. Of course another key ingredient is the food. Portion sizes are good, prices are great and the taste is even better. Particular favourites are the chana lamb stew with chickpeas, the chicken nawabi (enhanced with garlic and boiled egg) and a super spicy fish maas jalfrezi, but you really can’t go wrong whatever you pick. Vanilla Spice’s elegant dining space and perfectly manicured tables make it suitable for a romantic dinner, but it also caters well for large groups – just be sure to book ahead because Vanilla Spice is ever popular, night and day.
They didn't seem to have enough staff we waited far too long for the food to arrive and they got one meal wrong. We had young children in our group and they got bored. The wait was unacceptable.
Lovely food and great service. Lots of choice on the menu. All of the dishes we tried were delicious and we could not fault the service.
Friendly staff, the restaurant itself was quite modern, the food was served promptly and well presented, but my and my partner's curries were quite tasteless.
