Birmingham’s city centre’s popular stretch of nightspots along Broad Street is blessed to count the Velvet Music rooms among its number. Spread over two floors, Velvet Music Rooms has something for everybody, from your favourite tipple to quality pub meals, to music that runs the gamut from house and R’n’B to Birmingham’s best bashment.
Birmingham’s Velvet Music Rooms operates as a warm and welcoming city centre pub by day, and it’s a popular spot at the top end of popular Broad Street for hungry Brummies to grab a spot of pub grub. Velvet Music Rooms’ menu is fantastic, with bites and starters leading to the main events, with perhaps a little on the side. Grab a posh dog, pizza, or indulge your sweet tooth. Recommended and fresh from the grill is the Drunken Bullock, which we won’t elaborate upon here! Just try it. Whopping big burgers are a popular fixture, with the house special Fat Face Burger one to keep you fuelled for when the sun goes down…

Myself and friend had lunch using a groupon offer. Fantastic value. Good food and lovely friendly service, only request would be for a larger choice on groupon menu. Will definately return.
staff where very polite service was really good and most of all food was well nice freshly cooked lovely and hot it was a really nice lunch thanks guys
It is a very unique venue with unusual memorabilia like a limited edition of a Duran Duran disc ! The menu for our deal had lots of choices so it was difficult to choose as we wanted to taste them all ! We had the garlic mushrooms and the onion soup both of which were delicious followed by green thai curry and lasagne which were equally lovely. The bubbly was also very nice. The food is very fresh and perfect portions and they don't take ages to serve either so all in a very enjoyable experience ! Heartedly recommend
good is amazing. Good service always have a good time at velvet music room. Very polite staff! Burgers are lovely and very good price. Thanks
Probably the best value restaurant on Birmingham's Broad Street, an area where most eat-in places can charge what they like as the majority of customers do not use their own money. Friendly staff, quick and attentive service and nicely cooked food. However, be aware that Velvet Music Rooms transforms into a busy nightclub as the evening draws on, so if all you want is a quiet (ish) meal, go early!
It was early evening on a Friday, there were a few people inside but plenty of seats. We were shown to a table and seated within 5 minutes of arriving. Because I booked online the member of staff was aware that a voucher was being used. We were given a menu and it was explained what we could order. The order was taken quickly, the food arrived after a few minutes and was hot and tasty. Overall a pleasant experience, the only reason I have not rated it is six is because some of the music was a little bit too loud for that time of the evening, maybe it could have been louder a bit later into the night when all the younger people come out.
Good service, good food and drink. The manager and staff were excellent we had my daughter and baby with us they were quick to offer us a high chair. They also served our drinks to our table. Will definitely go there again. Highly recommend. Please bear in mind it is a bar that serves good quality food at a reasonable price. It is not a Michelin star restaurant.
We were going to the theatre so arrived just after 5.30, it had been a warm day and the big windows were open on to Broad St in rush hour! so had to sit almost as far back as we could away from the traffic noise. They had a special menu for the voucher with limited choice, a price limit on the normal menu would had been better. We both enjoyed the bubbly but the food was basic pup grub of reasonable quality but not good enough to say we must come here again. The service was good but as was said by the staff they were quiet so we got there full attention. All in all you get what you pay for, we will not be calling again on our way to the theatre.
I was a little worried about bringing the children to the velvet rooms at 7pm on a Friday evening as I know they prepare for a busy club night. However, on arrival we were warmly welcomed and the food was very well priced and of a high standard. Bar staff were helpful and attentive. Would def visit again. Thank guys !
We went on a deal in the afternoon. It is easy to get to, food was very tasty, just needed to be a bit hotter, we had lovely service from a young lad who informed us of all the offers as well as looked after us very well. We will go again
