Venerdì Restaurant

Food was delicious but service was average. I called ahead to enquire if the restaurant could accommodate a guest of mine with gluten and dairy allergies and I was informed they could. However, when we placed our order, the first waitress said they could only serve a salad. I explained we had called ahead and told differently so we were passed to a second waiter. He had a small amount of knowledge of the menu and had to go back and forth with the chef. He didn’t seem too confident with the kitchen, by saying, ‘legally, I have to so we can’t guarantee it will be completely gluten free’ which doesn’t fill anyone with allergies with confidence. There was no word of reassurance that the kitchen will try their best to not cross contaminate the food. We’ve eaten at plenty of Italians who are understanding of other people’s food requirements and can accommodate with confidence. We felt like an inconvenience to the staff and didn’t feel welcome. As I said, the food was delicious but the staffs attitide was poor and didn’t make it an enjoyable experience. I would not be returning.

Such brilliant service and usual, buzzing atmosphere and tasty, tasty food. It was my mum’s birthday and she was treaded amazingly. We are regulars here and there’s many reasons we go so often!

Venerdi is a lovely restaurant with very stylish decor and the food was delicious, homemade pasta is great and lots of choice. Only gripe would be everything came a bit too fast.

Really lovely food, hearty portions with really good service . Felt very welcoming, waiting staff volunteered my name when I advised had booked. We were late! Road works, however they fitted us in with no fuss.

Food very good. Aubergine pasta excellent plus very good chicken in breadcrumbs. Service excellent total bill very reasonable. Very pleased with the overall dining experience.

The food was really awful. The egg avocado dish with chilli was a poached egg on (bad bread) toast with unseasoned avocado sliced on the side with some random jalapeños also on the side. We thought maybe they just can’t do brunch but my friend didn’t enjoy his pizza either. The staff tried but it was just a terrible meal.

The pasta dishes were very small, so several of my party were left hungry. We were told one of the desserts would take 15mins to prepare but it was more like half an hour. The atmosphere is nice however and they accommodated a bigger group than I had booked for.

Amazing food and service - food was very quick , fresh and cooked to perfection - drinks were offered as soon as glass was empty and the staff were very friendly and efficient

We've been going to venerdi since it opened and love it. Great service, atmosphere and pizzas. Overpriced first courses though, especially the filled zucchini which was tiny and disappointing.

Starters good, wine very nice, main courses a bit dull. Quite expensive. Decor nice, music good. Nice to have another Italian restuarant in Hack ney.

Always great: the food’s really good: they serve calzone as big as your head, fresh homemade pasta, rosemary focaccia to start... Also: the service is super friendly and attentive. Love it here, innit

This restaurant had a great relaxed vibe, with dark inviting decor inside. Friendly service. Good Italian food, not fancy, but reliable for a good value night out. Recommended.

Great pizzas with interesting toppings. The venue itself was really comfy and stylish and the staff were so good. They went the extra mile for us and were patient as we were hanging about late. I would 100% go back

Although the food was to a good standard, the level of service and attitude of certain members of the staff was poor. We would not return

Pleasant atmospheric Italian restaurant. They seemed to have over booked which was not our problem but after a bit they stopped trying to make us worry about it.

Excellent food and friendly staff. Nice ambiance and reasonable prices. Drinks could come out a little quicker but very enjoyable evening for friends and family

Poor service and unaccomodating for vegan dietary requirements. Also we’re not told about the set menu on NYE despite asking many times to check and bring reassured the menu would be the full usual one.

Great local restaurant with great food and service. Recommend this Italian restaurant, only wish they would start making gluten free pizza or pasta dishes like many of the competing pizza places in the area.

Always great atmosphere, great service and great food. My colleagues and I always return every 1-2 months and it is a great place to have a catch up.

I have been there a couple of times and always really enjoyed it. The waiter with the pony tail is especially helpful and he does a great job!

Amazing homemade pasta! Great wine list, lovely setting and attentive staff, all in all a great meal and evening. We would definitely return back here.

A great local Italian restaurant, wide selection of pasta, pizza and mains. Alongside daily specials. Been lots of times, the food keeps bringing us back. Service was a bit shaky after refit, but its improved and staff are so very friendly.

My first time at this place and I really enjoyed, the food, drinks and the atmosphere are lovely. Definitely, I will be back soon with my wife. Thanks guys

Friendly service form our local Italian. Great Nduja pizza - spicy sausage paste - totally lush. Delicious pints of Peroni. What more could you ask for?

The food was of a high standard, but was spoilt by really bad service, had to pretty much chase every stage of the meal. Shame as the staff seemed nice.

I like the look of Venerdi and it's local to me but ... we waited 25 mins for our (cold) starters and even then they managed to forget 2 out of the 3 starters. And we also waited 50 minutes for our mains - with no offer of even a comp drink while we were waiting. The food itself was 'ok' but no more. So, overall not a great experience, especially given it wasnt busy - 5 people serving should be able to handle 50-60 covers without "getting confused by the children's menu".

Used to be the go-to place for an awesome pizza. Not they seem to have changed kitchen staff and the pizza was just terrible. very sad it's changed that much

The decor's really smart but it keeps the relaxed cool feel. The staff are friendly and helpful, the food was delicious with a huge range of options so there's something fro everyone. The drinks were really good - the Peroni Negroni & the Bloody Orange Negroni were so good! The main courses were a little expensive but they have lots of fish and expensive ingredients in and are the standard prices for the area now :( The pizza and pasta options were more reasonable.

I have eaten at this restaurant several times and had a good experience, so invited my family who had to travel from all over for a birthday lunch yesterday. The service was very poor and I spent most of the lunch feeling uneasy & anxious trying to catch the waiter's attention for the items they had forgotten to bring. The prosecco was warm so I sent that back, I then reopened another drink but it didn't arrive so I had to leave the table to retrieve it. When the waiter eventually took our order, items were missing, we usually are offered pepper & parmesan, but had to ask. I then ordered a glass of wine to drink with the meal, which never arrived. Very disappointing for a what should have been a special occasion which we had travelled a long way for.

Food was fine, but quite standard, waited 1 hour to be served (including drinks), service was quite abrupt and a 12.5% service charge was applied automatically..

Perfect night out! Staff are accommodating, professional and caring. The new restaurant's interior is beautiful down to the last detail, good selection of wine and cocktails with mouthwatering food to go with it. Highly recommend!

Had long relaxed lunch. Table for 3. Friendly, good service with nice atmosphere. Excellent Italian food, with visible kitchen, varied menu: good vegetarian options. Nice organic house white too. Fabulous hot chocolate pudding with ice cream (which we shared). Felt in good hands. Will return.

The food was absolutley amazing, the restaurant is very nice and cozy and the staff is very nice and friendly. I can wait for my next visit to Venerdi, I really recomend this restaurant.

Small portions, expensive prices,there was an"event on"which we where unaware of which included two DJ's playing very loud music so we had to shout to be heard. Don't recommend.

Lively atmosphere and friendly staff, though the service can be a bit slow. There is a wide range of pizzas and pasta and a smaller range of "mains". Booking is advisable!

Great service great food great atmosphere I can't wait for my next visit. I had an amazing risotto and dessert. Next time I will get a seat away from the front door.
