8848 Restaurant

Extensive menu reasonably priced. Food freshly cooked and served by very pleasant waiting staff. We will have no hesitation in returning to this restaurant when back in Aberdeen.

Great service great food and great acoustics! (Yes you can hear each other speak and there's no need to shout. A top curry venue in Aberdeen.

I would say as a semi- regular, the food was to its usual very high standard, the staff as always were very friendly and welcoming, and the service were excellent. Looking forward to my next visit.

Unfortunately this visit wasn't as good as last visit. One of the starters arrived cold. The main I had although the curry itself tasted nice the lamb was dry.

Tasty food and attentive staff. We were a family of five and the menu suited us all. Staff encouraged us to try different dishes and the chef also sent out a couple of complimentary dishes for us to try. Food was delicious and portions were of a good size. Will definitely be back!

It was very nice, prompt service although we had booked an early evening table so it was quite. Good food and would go back. 😄

Excellent food and service at a reasonable price. Best Nepalese/Indian fusion food in Aberdeen. Have recommended it to many friends. That was our fourth time there and plan to visit again soon.

This was the first time I had been to 8848. I found the Service and food second to none. Would certainly recommend to friends. A very pleasant evening.

It was our first time to the restaurant and had a pleasant experience. The recommendation of the set menu was good, allowing us to try the different type of Nepalese food which suits the group. Staff were helpful and friendly. We'll definitely visit again to try some other dishes :)

Very nice restaurant food excellent. Only complaint they offer spicy carrots instead of onions with poppadoms-not a hit with our party. Staff very attentive and efficient.

The menu has changed with some new options to select from. The food was absolutely excellent. One of the best Indian meals I've had in Aberdeen for a long time. Service was first class and very busy restaurant which is always a good sign.

Very fine food, but not the best I've ever had. Servce was very friendky and professional. We would certainly return, should our travels bring us back to Aberdeen.

The staff were very friendly and explained the food well. They were attentive but left you without interrupting conversations. The food was different but beautiful and presented well. There was not too much food leaving you feeling bad that you'd wasted lots and you weren't encouraged to order too much either. We had a lovely meal out and will go back again for sure.

Excellent food in a lovely setting, the staff were friendly, attentive and helpful. I had a lamb Rogan Josh, the lamb was succulent & the sauce flavourful, I prefer a slightly crispier Naan than normal and that's what I got. My neice had the chicken Pasanda and she enjoyed her meal too. Thanks

Simply top top notch food, great service too. Poppadum's, lamb, duck, vegetarian options all really good. Thoroughly recommend 8848 whether you're a tourist or a local.

My Fiancée and I had an excellent quality meal here. The service was attentive and friendly. Once the owner knew it was my fiancée's birthday he added a drink on the house for her. Really class. Would recommend.

Excellent service and food. All staff able to advise on dietary intolerances and allergies. Lovely decoration on the ground floor level. Improvement would be to redecorate the toilet facilities, they were slightly bizarre.

The staff were excellent, friendly and with a sense of humour. There was a good menu choice, it was well cooked and prices were reasonable.

Great service and delicious food - a great evening! We visited 8848 for Fathers Day and my father-in-law received a complimentary drink at the end of his meal which was a lovely touch.

Great meal ,service was excellent. Will certainly be going back. Waiter help decide what dishes to have and we were glad we took his advise as the dishes were excellent.

The food we had was tasty but not really what we like to eat, we should have picked spicier dishes. This was our first visit and would know better the next time. We also would like to say that we felt we could have had slighter more meat in the curry

The food was beautiful, my husband (who's fussy) complimented it too. Vast menu so plenty to choose from. Would definitely recommend and go back again.

Food was very tasty and fresh, and their menu had plenty to select from. Drinks were perfect. Service was excellent - staff very polite and attentive.

First time at 8848 and we were ETA 3 disappointed. We were given the option of sitting downstairs or upstairs and we went for the more relaxed and quiet area upstairs. Service was exemplary and waiter was very knowledgeable about the dishes and wines. Food was very nice, especially the starters of Chana and chilli chicken and all food was flavoursome and piping hot. Enjoyed our meal and will be back. Thank you.

Lovely food, staff were attentive but didn't look sure we had made a reservation and said they had a table free for us upstairs which made it sound like they were fitting us in. Much quieter upstairs with less atmosphere, would have preferred to be where it was more lively but they were full. Would go again but book over the phone and request downstairs.

8848 is first rate in every respect. The staff are attentive and good at their jobs. We have never had a bad meal in this restaurant.

This was my first visit to 8848,my partner had visited on several occasions & gave glowing reports. I must admit that my first visit was extremely enjoyable,the attentiveness of the staff,the ambionce along with the food on the plate which was faultless. I have been won over - I will become a regular...

A refreshingly different menu served by friendly staff in a really nice setting. The food was great, and all in our party wanted to come again. Recommended.

Our food was beautifully spiced, cooked and presented. We could not fault it if we tried. We eat early, at 6 pm, and it is good to see this excellent restaurant deservedly becoming more popular even at that time.

Service was very good and food was prepared and cooked well. The menu selection was varied and accommodated all tastes. Good selections of drinks and good restaurant ambiance.

We booked for a Saturday night for 4 of us. We enjoyed super food, but the service was terribly slow. Would go again, but on a quieter night of the week.

Food lovely and portions were a good size staff helpful and friendly only down side was they took ages between starter and main course but more time for an extra drink

Good food and served at exactly the right pace. We enjoyed it very much. Only negative was that the restaurant was a little cold during our visit which dampened our enthusiasm a little.

Lovely restaurant, great location, excellent food - we were 4 people dining and all had different starters, mains etc and not one of us was disappointed - we will definitely be back; and soon I hope. {:O) x

The food was superb, the atmosphere relaxing and the staff attentive without being pushy. Highly recommended, we will be going back again the next time we have a night out in Aberdeen.

Think food was better last time I was there but maybe wrong pick from menu for me, was chef signature dish though. Service for drinks and dessert a bit slow even though restaurant was not that busy.

Lovely food, not over spicy. Staff could be more attentive and the music needs improved....a little dated. Glad we went but would not be rushing back.

Excellent meal with a good and varied menu. Only let down was that when we first got our pompadoms they served a dip tray that had been used and had dirty spoons. Otherwise great food and we will return. Cost was not too bad for a city centre restaurant. Atmosphere was good too.

Beautiful restaurant and seated quickly. The food was amazing and good portions, also plenty of choice. Only negative is that our order for food was not taken for some time. Other than that loved it.

We had an itison voucher, and the deal was ok. Waiter was a bit vague on what was included, some dishes have a supplement and it varies as to the dishes. I asked the waiter to recommend a spicy lamb dish, which wasn't very spicy (even my wife thought that, and she doesn't do spicy). Drinks are reasonable service to start with was a little slow, but as more staff came on, it evened out. All in all was OK, but don't know if I'd rush back. On a separate note the itison vouchers have to be seated before 5, and the staff seemed to change at 6. Our parents were ther yesterday, and it seems the staff tried to charge them full price, even though they had presented their voucher when they arrived, as per policy. Took them almost 15 minutes to get things sorted out.

Excellent food and atmosphere. Would highly recommend to anybody, a real hidden gem. The food was simply delicious and a welcome alternative to traditional indian food.

Can't fault the food, only real issue was that instead of being sat downstairs where the atmosphere was - we were ushered upstairs to the over spill area. This was even after making a reservation ahead of the meal....
