A unique dining concept in Edinburgh, Abida serves some of the area’s best Thai and Indian dishes, all under one roof. Since its establishment in 2009, the restaurant has seen a rapid growth in popularity, quickly managing to become one of the city’s most popular destinations for a spicy and exotic dinner. You’ll find this standout Asian restaurant on St John’s Road in Corstorphine, just down the street from Gyle Public Park and a stone’s throw from South Gyle station.
To experience the best of two separate cultures at once, one mustn't go any further than Abida on Edinburgh’s St John’s Road. Providing a unique dining concept that’s unlike any other in Corstorphine, Abida sets the bar high for both Indian and Thai cuisine, and restaurateur Mr Minto Rehman intends to keep it that way. Abida even offers a private function room, perfect for your next celebration, that’s as beautifully decorated as the rest of the restaurant.
No matter whether you’re a spice fiend or you prefer your food on the milder side, Edinburgh’s Abida provides diners with an array of options that are sure to please. Indian delights like the tandoori chicken, aubergine & mushroom jalfrezi and the Lahore sabzi karahi can be found on the menu alongside Thai specialities such as vegetables with cashew nuts, Thai green curry with duck, lamb with Thai chilli basil or tom yum soup – mix and match your appetiser, main and dessert for a truly Asian-fusion meal. As one of Corstorphine’s most popular restaurants, Abida is known to pack out. Reserving ahead is highly recommended.
Nice and quick with the food and service was good. Food was tasty and plenty of it. Staff are nice and friendly and has a nice atmosphere.
We had to re-arrange the booking time twice, the staff could not have been more helpful. Good, efficient service by friendly staff. Good portion size as well.
Excellent food and service in a comfortable and enjoyable environment, providing plenty of choice for all pallets with aa new menu offering along with traditional indian cuisine
The food was delicious and served in perfectly sized potions. Great vibe in the restaurant, don't know why it's not busier! Very good value for money
This restaurant has been recommended to me several times and can say that that our visit lived up the hype. The restaurant is tastefully decorated, staff were helpful and friendly but most importantly, the food was great. Everything ordered was delicious and piping hot. Perfect. Loved the fact that the Balti dishes, which food was served in, had lids to retain heat too. Looking at the menu, I notice the prices are a little higher than usual but I, personally, don't mind paying a bit more for quality fare and the portions are quite generous too. Only minor gripe for our party of four, was the nice looking cutlery was a little awkward in use. No problem recommending this restaurant
This is the second time I've dined at this restaurant and was not disappointed. Comfortable, pleasant surroundings and music at an appropriate level to talk, our table of four had a great evening. The food is very good and the portion size of the dishes were just right. Our guests for the evening were equally impressed, so no hesitation in recommending this establishment.
Great menu, good service. Every visit is good. The restaurant is well situated in Corstorphine and appears to be popular. Prices are competitive and the food is to be recommended.
Food and service fantastic as usual. Nothing is too much trouble, great portions and food quality brilliant. Definitely recommend, will be back soon. Take away also 1st class.
This was a last minute booking but a good choice, nice warm and friendly atmosphere and a good choice of Indian dishes, always doubtful about restraints that have mixed menus sushi as here with Indian and Thai so stYed safe and had a chicken curry very tasty it was so would recommended it.
Lovely food and great value but very quiet, only 1 other table was filled in the restaurant. It's a shame as the range and quality of the food was great.
