About Aegean Restaurant

Dear diners, please be aware that bookings of 8 or more people, must contact the restaurant to pay a deposit and pre-order. Thank you for your understanding.

Inspired by his upbringing in Greece, when he would accompany his grandfather on trips to catch fish in the Aegean Sea, which was then cooked up by his grandmother and then sold in their own taverna, Aegean Restaurant’s owner Lefteris aims to bring a little piece of his native land to Cardiff. Located on Whitchurch Road, Aegean Restaurant is the place to go to experience home-style Greek cuisine, made using time-honoured recipes that have been passed down through the generations in Lefteris’ family. From small meze plates to mouthwatering meats like kleftiko and souvlaki, hearty vegetable moussaka and of course an array of the freshest fish and seafood, there’s something for everyone on the menu. Great food with a relaxed atmosphere and welcoming staff. As a couple, we ordered courgette patties, dolmedes, staphado and kleftiko, all of which were delicious.

Always welcoming and amazing food. We have been many times and always enjoy it. The staff are wonderful and make every effort for your evening to be an enjoyable one, which I must say they do very well.

As always, outstanding service and delicious food. We both ordered the Greek Village Sausage and Seafood Platter, and they did not disappoint. Lefteris was "the host with the most", and worked hard to ensure we were happy. A fantastic experience all round.

Lovely restaurant serving authenic greek food. Very friendly owner, who loves to have a little chat to you. Good selection of food on the menu, really enjoyed the 4 course meze which included stuffed vine leaves, meatballs, spinach and cheese parcels, sausages, salad, dips, bread, squid, marinated chicken and stiphado. The owner explained all the courses to us and what each dish was. Won't hesitate to return

Lovely visit to this place. Real traditional Greek feel to it and the staff were very attentive to us. It was for my partners surprise meal and we had a ball with friends and family. The gent waiting on us was brilliant and couldn't do enough. Food was lovely also. Would definitely come back to this lovely restaurant.

Had an enjoyable Valentines meal at the Aegean. Liked the set menu idea and being able to choose 8 meals to share was a good way of trying something new as well as having lots of favourites. the portion sizes looked small but were clearly well planned as it was more than enough food for both of us. The live music was a nice touch as well.

We arrived at 6 PM and restaurant was empty. This very quickly changed when large group of dinners and number of smaller groups arrived. We had the Mezze which was a selection of starters/appetizers and the main. The service was responsive and quick given how busy the place was.
