First class food and service, a real taste of Spain. The range of Tapas was excellent and the main courses were just the right size.

Food is pretty abismal and very expensive for what you get. I ordered octopus in a paprika on a bed of potatoes- it wasn't paprika, more like hot so pretty tasteless and the potatoes were drenched in olive oil making them soggy. Atmosphere is nice though.

Lovely food, nice atmosphere and surroundings. Service was good the only thing I didn't like was the feeling of almost being rushed out of the restaurant at 30 minutes into my booking when the waitress pointed out we only had a 2 hour booking.

Ate here for valentines day and was told only on arrival that they were not doing rice dishes. Only tapas then. Chose 6 tapas tat came out as starters and mains for some reason complete with different cutlery. Squid, not cooked properly and the accompanying aioli had no garlic. Prawns were in a sauce and not sauteed as per the menu and again, lacked flavour considering it was meant to be chili, garlic, olive oil and white wine. Was more of a white sauce than any other flavours. Patatas Bravas were ok but some of the potatoes were burnt. Our "mains" then arrived. Bean stew with chorizo, bacon and black pudding. THe website has a picture of this and it was nothing like what we were served. Had to send them back as it was watery, no meat in it (Waitress tried to explain that its a slow cook so they had dissolved away - honestly?). Spinach and "Blue Cheese" croquettes - had no blue cheese unless it was as bland as mozzerella. Black pudding parcels - undercooked, shame really as they sounded nice. Had free wine and they took 50% off the bill but still a shame as if we had known about the rice we would've gone elsewhere. I've been to Spain many times and not just to the costas. Perhaps a revision of what Spanish food is these days and how its evolved from the typical squid rings etc would be a good idea. WOuldnt call Amantia authentic to say the least, the decor is too modern. I've been a chef for over 16 years and i can only assume there was a shortage on the garlic. A real shame as we were looking forward to this.

Food and waitress service was excellent. Only let down, the first three things I asked for they hadn't got. Spanish restaurant with no San Miguel, no paella, and no mussels. Apart from this the steak and pork was beautiful.

Very very good and authentic food. What is good about tapas is you can have as little or as much as you want, from just a snack to a table filled extravaganza, which is what we did.. it was our wedding anniversary.. The service was just as you want, appearing as needed without having to spend ages trying to catch someones eye. We went mad with the menu and the bill was £85, but could be as little as £30 for two, great value and we will go again

Amazing cocktails (£8)! 2 Tapas (£5-8 each) and a paella (£14pp) between two of us left us completely stuffed. A little pricier than some chain restaurants but for an independent place with lovely atmosphere and great food, would definitely recommend. They do living social vouchers and a good lunch deal as well if cost is a consideration.

The restaurant was fairly busy and there were only 2 front of house staff, but they were lovely and the food was delicious. I was a little concerned that we would be waiting for a long time as I noticed there were only two members of staff, but we were served quickly. I am gluten intolerant and when I made the booking online I left a note to tell them this, someone rang me and told me that they have a gluten free menu which was great. Lovely meal and lovely hard working staff.

Food was exceptional but the service not so good! One of the meals turned up much later than the others, a drink was forgotten! When we arrived a table was pointed at with the words 'you're over there', coats not taken, no goodbye as we left at the end! Little things that could have made us feel a bit more special!

Fantastic restaurant with really lovely attentive staff, who knew about the menu and wines and left us to enjoy a fun afternoon. The restaurant was quiet due to the mid afternoon booking, but it still felt vibrant as everyone dining sat in the front area. Food was beautiful, and plenty of it, having a mixture of mains and tapas. Highly recommended!

Such a lovely restaurant. They were really helpful when a delayed train made us late for our booking, and accepted our voucher even though we were not eating at the time covered by it. The food was great and service too - attentive, but not obtrusive. Great addition to Birmingham's restaurants.
