Bamboula Caribbean Restaurant - Brixton

The food was very well cooked and tasty. The restaurant is really nice and well decorated and it has a nice atmosphere. Reasonably priced too!

Even though they let us book the table, the restaurant was closed. They should tell the customers and definitely catch up with the Google timetables.

It wasn't open and not sure if it's a restaurant still in operation Phone line doesn't work and wasted journey Been there in the past and it was lovely. Not sure what's going on but customers shouldn't be allowed to book on these sites!

Great food. Owners are very kind and welcoming. Did not have time for desert but definitely will go back if I ever visit UK again.

This is my second visit to Bamboula and their culinary delights did not disappoint. The ackee and saltfish was exquisite, and the homemade ginger beer is the best I've ever tasted! Decidedly my restataurant of choice whenever I'm in Brixton going forward.

quirky little restaurant, food was really tasty and good value, staff friendly. kitchen area looked a bit tired and in need of re-decorating, some items on the menu were not available. i enjoyed the visit though, the rum cocktails were ace!

I came across Bamboula on the internet, whilst researching a location to take my sister for dinner, on her birthday. A mid point between us threw up Brixton. We met and made our way there. The setting is relaxed and has a unique charm. The service was prompt, the food was excellent and the price was right. I will go again.

Our server was really friendly and made some great recommendations! Food was really flavourful, really enjoyed it! The goat curry was delicious! The plantain fries and sauce - highly recommended! Great food, great atmosphere! Will be back for sure!

Food was nice but it took nearly 2 hours to get our food, so minus points for that. They did apologise, and gave us a free glass of wine, but I'd rather the food was on time, as we were all starving.

The food is good but the portions are very small and the service it is extremely slow...at the end we wanted a dessert but the kitchen was closed already only because we had to wait for about one hour before receiving our orders (and part of that order was missing). That was very sad because the food itself is nice.

Laid back vibe and chilled atmosphere! Felt that some of the food was mediocre, burnt chicken, overly sweet and small festivals. The curries were very tasty and delicious rum punch!

This restaurant has an authentic Caribbean vibe. It is cosy. The is delicious filling and well presented plus it is served in a timely manner. The staff were very friendly.

Bamboula - the food is faboula! Before I entered Bamboula I was feeling blue. One bite of the jerk chicken later, I was transported to my motherland Jamaica - it was great man.

The food is fantastic, but unfortunately service was very slow, and when the bill was brought over half of it was incorrect. It was all sorted out in the end, just a little disappointing!

Very attentive staff. Really nice chilled vibe within the restaurant even an outside seated area. Had several laughs with whom i think was the Restaurant Manager. Food was very well presented and the flavours were lovely. Melt in your mouth chicken was very memorable. Would definitely recommend and will visit again.

This is a little gem - the menu is concise and very well priced. All starters are £5 mains £10 and sides £3.50. The food is beautifully cooked and imaginatively presented. The portions are generous. We had a lovely evening here - the staff are friendly and attentive. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. Top tip - try a cocktail we had dark and stormys - wow!

The staff are the highlight. It's a small seemingly independent Caribbean restaurant serving a good small selection of standard Caribbean fare. But the staff are lovely smiling easy-going people. I'd go back to see them. The drinks selection is good too. It's a restaurant worth supporting.

Our waitress tried and therefore would say it that the Service was good. However the food wasn't authentic neither were Daiquiris. This is not worth the price. Only one waitress for a Saturday evening that I noted. Starters were overcooked. Curried chicken was like soup with chunks of Chicken with bones. Just not impressed and not worth the pricing.

Very friendly service. Waitress/Waiter were lovely and willing to explain any option. They were also willing to help with dietary requirements. Food was flavoursome and we'll portioned and the wait was not long despite what we previously heard. The menu is a little confusing but they are already working on this and bringing a new one in shortly.

Lovely visit, staff were very attentive and food superd. It was our perfect start to our evening out in Brixton. If would recommend and strongly advise the 'Brixton Mess' for dessert, delicious.

Can't say enough about Bamboula Caribbean Restaurant. The service was great and the food was AMAZING. My friends visiting from the States couldn't stop raving about it. Would definitely recommend.

I visited Bamboula for lunch with a friend and found it to be the perfect place if you want good food that is filling at an affordable price. The staff are very polite and the atmosphere is lovely. I would definitely recommend it.
