When we arrived at the restaurant we weren’t sure it was the right place as the sign was missing outside. the only way I knew it was the old image on google maps. After being shown to our seats, drinks were ordered and the pompadoms were left. we then had to wait nearly one hour 15 minutes for our food to arrive. when it did we all said how disappointed we were with the food , we definitely won’t be going back .

Excellent restaurant. Nice surroundings. Very good service, and most importantly superb food. Myself and my friends would recommend Basmati for an evening of curry food, we left nothing on our plates ! Definitely the best in Petworth.

Great restraunt. Fantastic service as always, really superb food and a really affordable price too. Easily the best Indian in petworth. Have eaten there several times as takeaways before and always very happy but last night was the first time we'd eaten in before. Very impressed, will be eating there again for sure.

I used to come here all the time when I was younger visited today for the first time in ages, still the best Indian restaurant I've ever been too. It can't be beaten

Very varied and interesting menu choice, food served promptly and very good flavours. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The setting is most unusual in what looks like old wine cellars in the centre of town and conveniently near the main car park.

Food is always great here and we also had some good friends with us for a birthday celebration so had a wonderful evening. Never had a bad curry here, particularly recommend the Goan Fish Curry which is gorgeous.

Unique setting in cellar location. Warm welcome on arrival. Service was very good and the food was very tasty and reasonably priced. All in all a good experience.

Very nice food, obviously freshly prepared and great friendly service. Price was good too. We had the mixed tandoori starter, onion bhaji followed by chicken tikka masala with pilau rice, naan bread and spinach.

By far the best Bangladeshi restaurant I have been with. Food is authentic and staff are friendly and attentive. Would highly recommend it. Shame they aren’t based in London!

Good food and interesting location, combined with attentive service. The vegetable biriani, chicken dhansak and butter chicken, which our party ordered, were nicely cooked and flavoursome. Our only gripe was that there was a problem with the drinks fridge so no chilled bottles of beer were available.

Totally relaxed and friendly ombiounce and deliciously cooked fresh food. All staff go out of their way to help. Highly recommend and can’t wait to return.

Always recommend this restaurant to friends and we try to visit regularly. Friendly service, yummy food and not over priced. Would love" sizzle platter" food but due to fire regs , the restaurant is underground in caves, this is not done. Enjoy

We were early, so the restaurant was very quiet. We were served quickly and efficiently. The food was delicious and well-presented.. It was a cold night, so perhaps the restaurant could have been a little warmer to welcome diners.

Lovely experience. Had to book using a keypad from phone so couldn't get the actual time we wanted to be there. But great when we got there :)! Greeted well, delicious food, attentive service. Definitely go there again.

The food and surroundings are very good, and the service generally quite good also. It was just that they were not ready when we arrived.
