The food and the flavours at Bay of Bengal are as diverse as the cultures of India and Bangladesh, one of many reasons why this Portsmouth restaurant is so popular. Bay of Bengal occupies a lovely spot on Hayling Island’s Elm Grove, which is handy, because once you get stuck into the menu you won’t want to be leaving in any kind of hurry. Some Bay of Bengal specials that we wholeheartedly recommend include the haryali, a South Indian dish cooked with a creamy coconut sauce, or for those with more of a taste for fire, naga is aromatic and may just have you sweating.
The food was really lovely. The staff are very friendly. We will definitely be back and very soon.
An excellent dining experience. On this occasion we chose the new vegetarian thali platter option together with a bespoke prawn dish suggested by the ever obliging and charming waiting staff further to discussing my particular preferences. A superb assortment of beautifully spiced and flavoursome dishes. Highly recommended.
Excellent food and attention to detail and great prices and service. Great choices on menu and they changed my daughters dish without charge as she wasn't happy. Great place to celebrate. Outstanding poppadoms. Yummy. Thanks
