The food and the flavours at Bay of Bengal are as diverse as the cultures of India and Bangladesh, one of many reasons why this Portsmouth restaurant is so popular. Bay of Bengal occupies a lovely spot on Hayling Island’s Elm Grove, which is handy, because once you get stuck into the menu you won’t want to be leaving in any kind of hurry. Some Bay of Bengal specials that we wholeheartedly recommend include the haryali, a South Indian dish cooked with a creamy coconut sauce, or for those with more of a taste for fire, naga is aromatic and may just have you sweating.
We had another good evening here . The four of us all enjoyed our food. The staff are always very friendly and helpful . We will be back ,!
Very friendly welcoming staff. Always enjoy the food and never feel rushed. Even when busy the staff are good at keeping you informed at the progress of your order.
I had a lovely meal with my eldest daughter last night. We have eaten here a number of times now and it thoroughly deserves its excellent rating. The staff are always friendly and attentive without being pushy and we both really enjoyed our meals. I'd recommend the Mix Kebab starter and the Chicken Balti.
I recently visited for a family meal, party of 7, the food was lovely as always, the staff are very friendly and can’t help you enough, service amazing, I highly recommend this place, best curry
My first time eating Indian food was a great experiance, thanks to the guys at Bay of Bengal. They explained the menu card and gave good advise. My friend and I had a lovely meal and a nice evening. Thanks and so you again soon!
Small family run restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere. Staff very polite and friendly but not over attentive. I don't often eat out for Indian cuisine, however the food was excellent and very reasonably priced. If you're local or just stopping by the area, this restaurant is well worth considering.
Best Indian restaurant on Hayling in my view. Flavourfilled dishes. Great service. Definitely a cut above your average Indian meal. The unassuming shop frontage conceals a hidden gem.
Nice decor, very good and varied menu. The staff were very helpful in explaining menu options and service was efficient, but not rushed - an excellent evening.
