By day, this Plover Road hotspot turns out a high-quality selection of breakfast, lunch and dinner options, with a la carte dining available from noon. By night, Bistro Eighteen64 transforms into a top drinking (and dining spot), with fine wines and cocktails set to a soundtrack of ambient, funk and soul.

The day begins bright and early at Bistro Eighteen64, letting some Mediterranean sun into Lindley locals’ lives down Plover Road with their delicious breakfast menu served between 8am and 11am. Danish pastries and Dark Woods coffee or Canton Co. tea in a VonShef pot is the way to go for a simple petit dejeuner in this historic quarter of Huddersfield, but you can go big with the Eighteen64 House Breakfast that includes locally-sourced sausage plus the works on toasted ciabatta. Lunch is long – from 11am until 5pm – and it’s during these hours that you can get your hands on gourmet sandwiches like the Spanish chicken wrap, ribeye steak sandwich or Mediterranean roasted vegetable ciabatta.

Come the evening, Bistro Eighteen64 really begins to shine, opening up its full bar selection as the crowds begin to arrive at Lindley’s gorgeous Wellington Mills heritage exchange building. Bistro Eighteen64 stocks a few surprises, including Estrella’s limited edition Inedit beer, created by elBulli patron Ferran Adria and his sommelier team that’s a surefire hit with Huddersfield’s hop heads. Vodka, gin, rum, whisky and brandy cocktails are the major drawcard here, but Eighteen64 does a fine line in wine, too, with many an international vintage to keep the vibe going well into the night.
