Food & wine very good as usual. Was very busy, so a bit slow, so they took our Champagne aperitif off the bill. You can rely on them to great and if they fall below usual standards, to make it up to you, by a complimentary item or two. Great place.
Always a good experience at Brasserie Vacherine. Nice friendly staff good service and a willingness to go the extra mile like accommodating special requirements the food is always good and that is why we keep going back. Highly recommend this eaterie.
Had a very nice lunch with my wife from the fixed price menu. The surroundings and vibe and of the restaurant is refined and relaxing. The food was excellent and represented good value. Service was friendly, efficient and non intrusive. Great experience.
Great foot and really impressive service - a great place to go out and have a first class evening meal. Recommended to anyone in Croydon.
One of the best breakfast I've ever eaten. Fresh high quality ingredients perfectly cooked. Would recommend and can't wait to go back for Eggs Benedict
Brasserie Vacherin never disappoints. The food is great, unfussy and flavourful, and the service is attentive without being intrusive. It has the perfect balance between being up-market and relaxed.
Very pleasant evening with accommodating staff, good service and great food. There were seven of us and a toddler with two requiring 'special' meals as needed to be gluten, wheat and dairy and garlic free!
Very good service. Food is very nicely presented and of good quality.. But very empty on a Wed lunchtime so no atmosphere. Probably over priced for the location.
Boyfriend and I loved it. Best restauarnt we have been to together. Ordered the squid and onion soup, followed by steak and frites. Cocktails are awesome too
Fantastic night out at the always reliable Brasserie Vacherin topped off by a conversation with the main man himself, Malcolm John. We'll be back soon. Tim
We were not allowed to swap chips for mash on one of the specials - very petty. Not good customer service and we will think twice before going back
Lovely food and lovely service. They were very accommodating! We had 2 courses each and shared a dessert- food came quite quickly and we were given lovely warm bread to keep us going. Espresso martinis were perfect!
Excellent menu. Excellent staff. A real Brasserie menu, beautifully cooked and impeckably served. Currently they are running a number of very good deals that includes Saturday and Sunday service
We all had a very enjoyable evening. The food was of a very high standard, the staff were lovely and we felt very relaxed. Altogether a great night out.
This restaurant was great. I was slightly early for our table, which wasn't a problem, and the waiting staff couldn't do enough for us. We ordered from the set menu but my friend wanted to swap something within it and we weren't charged extra. Definitely coming back here again.
Starter was not the usual high standard Really salty main course. Probably a different chef that night. It's usually brilliant there. The waitress you can't fault her, excellent.
A very enjoyable meal in pleasant surroundings . Service was excellent too. The opportunity to take your own wine without a corkage charge, which applies on Thursdays, makes it all the more affordable.
Had a meal here with 5 friends from work. We went for the Steak/Frites deal and a pudding. The food was cooked really well. Recommend this restaurant to couples or larger groups.
Excellent food and excellent service! Best dauphinois potatoes this side of Paris! Lovely table and great selection of drinks to accompany our meal. Highly recommended for a romantic evening.
Simply one of the best Brasseries in town, exciting, upbeat, straightforward and amicable. You want good food, smiley faces and Mayfair cocktails? Than this is the place to be right now! Well done!
The prix fixe menu is excellent value and the food is delicious. Service is good, staff are very attentive. Recommend the steak with bernaise sauce
An enjoyable Sunday lunch for two! Four courses (we shared the pudding and cheese) with apperatives and wine for a very reasonable price. Very good value.
Good value Sunday 3 course menu. Enjoyed my mussels and pumpkin ravioli. The salted caramel tart was a little too sweet. My wife fared better will mulled wine sorbet!
Excellent food, service & atmosphere. Great value for money. Always an enjoyable experience. Staff readily available to deal with any requests, looking forward to my next visit.
Came here as a group of four. Lovely atmosphere, great food and wine, and attentive service. The food we had included pork belly, scallops, lamb and steak which were all delicious. The snails were less good (sauce was not very tasty, and more difficult than usual to remove from their shell) but this really is the only criticism we have. Thank you for a lovely evening, we'll definitely be coming back!
Great food, fabulous range of cocktails, attentive staff and live music to add to the ambiance. Would recommend a visit, particularly to order the squid and a white russian!
Four of us visited the Brasserie Vacherin to celebrate my sister-in-law's birthday as it's one of her favourite restaurants. It was the first visit for me. We were greeted promptly and with a smile and chose a table by the window. They took our drinks order quickly and gave us some lovely bread with anchovy butter. We didn't have to wait long for the first course which all of us thoroughly enjoyed. The wild mushroom and chestnut pastry dish I had was delicious and perfectly cooked and my mum said she'd never tasted a better onion soup. Unfortunately after this things went awry. It took nearly an hour to bring the main course and nobody came to explain or apologise which is a shame as had they done so this would be a 6 point rating but that lack of good customer service really let the side down for all of us. The main courses were as excellent as the starters but we didn't bother with dessert because of the delay which was just as well as we also had difficulty in getting someone to take our payment. Perhaps this is the outcome of a restaurant including the service charge automatically as they know that no matter how they treat their customers it'll get paid anyway. Perhaps our experience isn't the norm and I would return as the food was so good but if the service is poor again that'll be the last time.
Another great visit to Brasserie Vacherin in Croydon. I recommend the scallops and black pudding start. Great wine and amazing Chateaubriand. Fantastic service as always. Will definitely by back.
Good value Sunday 3 course menu. Enjoyed my mussels and pumpkin ravioli. The salted caramel tart was a little too sweet. My wife fared better will mulled wine sorbet!
Poor service, Very expensive and to top it off the Lobster was very overcooked and rubbery we had to send it back! I wouldn't recommend it.
The food was not very nice. We also didn't like the fact, we had to wait for the main course 40 mins. I don't think we will be back there.
Fantastic as ever. Food wonderful. Staff attentive. Brilliant. Never disappointed in this restaurant. We have been here in large groups and they are fabby, we have been here in small groups and it is intimate and super!
Had a wonderful evening. The service was great and the dishes excellent. Highly recommend this restuarant if you are visiting South Croydon. Thanks for a fabulous evening.
It's always a pleasure to visit Brasserie Vacherin, either in Croydon or Sutton. The food is very good and always beautifully presented. The staff are friendly and helpful and there's a relaxed atmosphere. A little piece of France in South London.
We had a lovely meal with really friendly and attentive service. The portions were generous. Lots of choice in the menu too. Would go again!
A great winelist and an interesting menu with daily specials are skilfully translated into lovely dishes with great service, all with a dash of french flair.
Perfect for a relaxed late Sunday afternoon brunch. Laid back, unhurried atmosphere with good choice of quality food attentively served. Brasserie Vacherin is a credit to Croydon's dining scene.
Very attentive staff from the moment we arrived nothing was too much bother, great food and wine all together a very enjoyable evening. Will definitely return.
Excellent food and fantastic choices on brunch menu and great value Staff friendly as ever and even made off menu salad for friend, very much appreciated
BV has an excellent menu. Quality is dependent on whether or not Mr Malcolm John is cooking himself. It is measurably better when he does. Last night he wasn't and the tuna tartare had an excessive amount of chilli and the scallops and lobster were not as good as usual. Service levels were just as good as usual and we still enjoyed a nice meal. Our loyalty card made the experience very good value.
We were a party of four ladies on our fourth visit enjoying a two course meal. All the dishes were very tasty and well presented. Looking forward to another visit.
Excellent food, atmosphere and service as always. Quite expensive, but I think this is the best restaurant in Croydon and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
My husband and I enjoyed great food, great service and great ambience. We are regular diners and it's the same every time we visit. I cannot recommend highly enough.
Friendly service and a great ambience. The food was absolutely delicious - the Chateaubriand steak has to be tasted to be believed! Thoroughly recommend this restaurant; will definitely be going back.
Good service, nice food. Needed to check the bill carefully b
Attentive staff and excellent food, as always. We dined with 15% off the Prix fixe menu and it was excellent value for money. The only complaint is that the bar area was very cold and we wanted to have a drink before we ate.
I'd previously dined at the restaurant last year and praised the food but criticised the speed of service but this time both were absolutely spot on. I had the poached pear which came with the most delicious dressing. The ideal starter for those with smaller appetites who don't want to risk being full before the main course arrives. The duck confit was perfectly cooked and the meat fell of the bone easily. Highly recommended.
Not sure what to say other than good service, good music (jazz & Brazilain music and easy listening music ) and very good attentive service.
Food delicious, service as usual excellent. This is undoubtedly the best restaurant in Croydon. I really really love it and go there when ever I can afford it.
The food and service are very good and the staff are very welcoming. We've been to Brasserie Vacherin in Croydon a few times. Will recommend to anyone. The Hart Family
Always a pleasant experience. Set menu is good value. Our only slight complaint is the service was little slow, but otherwise fine and we enjoyed our meal.
