Excellent food and great service. More vegetarian options on the Sunday lunch menu would be good. Also the desert menu didn't state which ones were vegetarian, better labelling of the menu required, but you can always ask.

As usual food was brilliant as was the service. Just a special eating out experience and ten minutes from home. What more can you want ?

A great Sunday lunch experience..... Warm welcome on stepping through door.....food and service first class. Would definitely recommend. 😀 It would have been nice if our coats had been taken to hang up rather than draped over chair back. 😟

Food was really lovely but service was slow, it took over 30 minutes for the starter to arrive and it was only bread and olives.

First visit for a while but will be returning soon. Excellent food and good service. As good as anywhere I've been recently so highly recommend it.

The menu was misleading and there was no attempt to explain the dishes. We were both surprised, although not too disappointed, with what appeared. Lovely touch was the serving of a couple of chocolates on a plate personally inscribed with chocolate drizzle to commemorate my partner's birthday that a member of staff happened to pick up on!

The staff were lovely and made us all feel very much at home. We were made welcome from start to finish. Thank you for a fabulous evening !

Long over due night out with friends. Atmosphere was good. Friendly reception on arrival. Food was great. Service was a little slow. But overall a fab night.

After giving us the separate menu for the chateaubriand when we arrived and explaining the only thing on the menu not available was something else. We had a drink thinking we will order the Chateaubriand when he next comes to our table. He arrived 20 mins later to tell us it's no longer available. There was nothing else on the very limited menu that we wanted and the waiter was very rude

Beautiful meal, pleasant staff. Highly commended. Best Lemon Posset ever...(posh name for lemon meringue pie....minus pastry) never fail us! Looking forward to our next visit!

Exceptional food with great service and a fantastic price for the quality. We will be coming back soon to enjoy more food and drinks at Chadwicks Inn.

Took our son here for dinner before he leaves for australia tomorrow. Beautiful food. Service good. Atmosphere relaxed Would recommend and will certainly go back.

Food was good but service slow bill not calculated properly. Said we couldn't be contacted to pre order so menu was restricted but none contacted me prior to our reservation

Nice venue, welcoming staff. Food good also. Had steak offer and this was good value. Steak slightly over cooked (requested rare and got medium rare) although was very good and I did not complain.

Fantastic meal at Chadwicks yesterday evening. Amazing menu choice, food was to die for. Staff were extremely warm and welcoming also and very accommodating. We will deffinately be returning and recommending to others!

Our meals were excellent and the wine we chose from a great choice was excellent too. Lovely surroundings and a nice warm feel to the restaurant. First class attention & service made our evening.

Nice restaurant and staff. Food produced to a very high standard. Some items were a little too fussy for us. One meal had to be returned as it was over cooked and dry. Replaced without quibble and not charged. Shame we spent our anniversary watching each other eat, not eating together. Hard to justify the pricing.

All I can say is the food is to die for thought I'd gone to heaven. Excellent meal in comfortable setting making you feel at home

Ambience nice , bar staff good , waiter quite charming. Had the set lunch menu , tasty enough but incredibly small portions which would have been fine on a five course menu but not three. Incredibly long wait between starters and mains. Overall very disappointing.

Thoroughly enjoyable Sunday lunch. Pleasant reception with good first course and beef as good as we have enjoyed when out on Sunday. There was a nice atmosphere and we were not rushed in any way.

Superb meal. We had two courses each. Unfortunately couldn't manage a dessert. Hubby had steak which he said was cooked to perfection (and he is fussy.) Staff were very pleasant and attentive. Nice atmosphere. Would highly recommend a visit.

Excellent food and service. Would definitely recommend !! The beef cheeks were amazing . My son had the steak which he said was excellent . I had cod which was really good. Good choice of wine to!!

Friendly and polite staff.Quickly shown to our table.Excellent varied menu,surprised to find no buttered potatoes available.Starters portions on the small size although exceedingly tasteful.Remaining food ordered no complaints more than acceptable.Enjoyable evening ,although queried why some tables had Xmas crackers etc..Our table for two probably would' have had room to accommodate them

Good food. Attention to detail. Reasonable price. We came and had a nice lunch and a dessert. Using the Quandoo booking or reservation service made things very easy for us.

One of the best places to eat in the north east! fantastic food, very accommodating staff and a really nice place to be inn. A favourite for me and my girlfriend!

Excellent food and very friendly service. We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening . Our guests were particularly impressed with the Whitby crab starter and the excellent chessboard although the chocolate fondant scored highly too.

The menu was lovely plenty of choice for everyone. We had a really good Sunday lunch. The starters were lovely. The beef was particularly tasty. The vegetables were superb.. Thank you.

2nd visit for lunch, all in £25 a head, excellent food, good value, no issues with anything. I like the way you aren't rushed. Will go back next time we visit my parents.

Hi was disapointed with our experience at Chadwicks on 19th November ,our booking was at 20 00, two of us decided to have Guinea fowl, and one person the lamb. Everything with the lamb was fine, and the service was professional and attentive, my complaint was with the description of the Guinea fowl , it was plainly described simply as guinea fowl, but Guinea fowl was not as it arrived on the two plates, what arrived was two pies! We did not order pies , we did not order Guinea fowl pies, we ordered Guinea fowl and that did not arrive at our table. We left Chadwicks disapointed with our experience, I did leave a five pound tip in cash as I thought that the staff where excellent .

Excellent venue, ambiance, staff and food. Will be regular visitors to Chadwicks for sure - both for food and drinks. Would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a lovely evening out. Staff can't do enough for you. Very deserving of the awards they've been given to date.

As ever staff excellent a perfect balance between professionalism and friendliness. The food was great not massive portions but very high quality products cooked to perfection. We have been to Chadwicks many times and always been impressed

Excellent variety of food offered across all price ranges although we opted for the bistro menu so that everyone was ordering off the same menu. Good service, pleasant surroundings.

Chardwicks presentation and food is excellent just disappointed with the quantity of the vegetables when the table is for 3/4 people I would re visit though.

we have had a few meals at chadwicks and really enjoy the food and service but I can only rate this a 4 as I disliked the crockery it was textured so it made a unpleasant scraping noise when eating, while waiting for desert we could also hear this noise from the other dinners plates it was a irritating sound like chalk on a blackboard.The desert bowels were not nice either with textured groves which our toffee sauce settled into making another annoying sound

I went with 4 friends on a Wednesday night 4 tried the steak as it was steak night, and one ate off the bistro menu. All our meals were very nice the service was very good and the place itself has a lovely ambience. We will all be going again.

Good experience . Staff very helpful and pleasant . We thought some of the items on the menu were a little pricey . Apart from that no problems , enjoyed the night .

My favourite restaurant. The food is sublime. The service is friendly, professional & competent. Lovely welcoming environment - especially now it's getting colder & the real fire appears. Excellent value for money because the food truly is the highest standards. Also special mention for the wine list. I drink & enjoy the house wines but raid the wine list for some real finds!
