This restaurant’s namesake, Chettinad, is a small village in the Southern Tamil Nadu State of India. As a result, the team behind Chettinad Leicester pride themselves in running a laid-back diner which serves up authentic South Indian dishes that are truly the real deal. Choose from menu items such as crunchy muruku sticks made from roasted rice flour, lentils and Chettinad spices; Poricha Kolli also known as ‘Chicken 65’ a spicy, deep-fried chicken dish with ginger, garlic, red chillies and fresh squeezed lemon juice originating in Chennai or the Kannava Curry which is an unusual squid and gravy curry made by fishermen after long fishing trips. It’s really good place for nice meal. The service and the staff are amazing. The food is good and value for the money as well.
Two of us had the meat Thali, it was superb, so many lovely tastes on one plate. My husband said his curry was the best he's had and our friend had a fish main and thought it was gorgeous. Such good value and friendly staff, will go again soon.
Visited after a family celebration, friendly and efficient service, delicious food with a good range of vegetarian and meat options. Fantastic parathas to accompany my paneer dish. Really enjoyed the non alcoholic drinks as well. Very happy. Plenty of food and delightful staff. Will visit the London branch when we are able.
