Food wasn’t great. Onion rings were tasteless and came without a dip. We asked for a dip when we ordered them but didn’t get it. Asked when half way through eating them and were told we couldn’t get a garlic dip as didn’t have it but chef was able to give this in the end. Macaroni was tasteless and quite dry. Fish and chips was not enjoyable either

Would have top rated if it were not for an exceptionally loud English lady at the next table. She simply wanted the whole restaurant to know her whole conversation. I almost went to complain, however as we were nearly finished I decided not to creat a scene…

Second visit and had family with us and they enjoyed both the food and the service which was friendly. My daughter had the fish in reactions which was really crispy and tasty, I had the keys curry again and enjoyed it.

Food is fabulous and reasonably priced, clean and tasteful decor.

We have a lovely meal and I would recommend the katsu curry dish which I had and the chicken was really good. The servers are pleasant and the restaurant has a lovely atmosphere.

Waitress checked with the chef regarding gluten and dairy options for the grilled chicken with haggis. It was great to hear that our requirements could be met without compromising the meal. Well done Cooks for your flexibility in meal adjustment. We have had many restaurants advise it would be take it or leave it. Great to know there are still some places like Cooks, who can cater for the odd “awkward” customer.

Lovely food and excellent service from our two waitresses. Not too expensive, we choose the Festive menu option which seemed very good value, £24.95 for 3 courses and £19.95 for 2 courses. 2 larges glasses of wine, 2 cokes and a coffee, £88.00 all in. Worth the visit.

First time at your restaurant. Access for mobile impaired is not good down the stairs. Could not see another way in for the elderly lady.

Enjoyed our visit to Cooks Bar and Restaurant. Main course portions were perhaps not what I’d expect for the cost but the food itself was very good. What made our visit was the member of staff who took our order and waited on our table. She was excellent and made the unrequested effort to provide an extra special touch for my 95 year old aunt’s birthday.

My sister and I were taking Mum and Dad out for lunch to celebrate their diamond wedding anniversary. The meal was lovely and very reasonable. The waitress was very helpful and when we ordered coffees, she had gone to the trouble of designing a diamond shape on the cappuccinos for my Mum and Dad which was a really nice touch. Very kind and thoughtful of the waitress and it meant a lot to my Mum and Dad too ❤️

Been to this restaurant before and it was lovely but this visit food wasn’t that nice, one waitress decided to rearrange the tables, and move them across the floor while we were eating very annoying wont be back.
