Great restaurant,lovely setting,absolutely amazing meal we had a lovely time,definitely be back.

I had accidently booked for 30th instead of 29th Sept. When we turned up a day earlier they were very helpful and fitted us in although there were 8 adults, 2 toddlers and baby. Food and service was excellent. Would certainly go back.

Arrived a bit early, but was accepted and shown to our table, soon after and after reading through the menu we got to order our meals. They arrived and I have to say the standard of the food was excellent and also the staff, we were treated well and made to feel at home. I'm absolutely sure that we will be back again, we're well impressed, well done to all the staff, including the backroom that is often forgotten. Thanks and regards Richard

It’s been a while since my last visit but was as good as I remembered. I had my favourite dish of chicken katsu which as delicious. I did see other dishes that I might try next time. The restaurant decor is really nice so makes for a pleasant dinning experience.

Overall visit was good. Staff were all very pleasant, cheerful and efficient. Food on main course for two was fine that was fish and chips. The chicken curry not so good. Chicken was very dry . Desserts apple crumble and cheese cake were all very nice. Lovely background music

The main meals we had at Cooks were absolutely disgusting. The three people in our party has steak pie. The meat was so tough nobody could actually chew it. The vegetables were cold and brick hard and inedible. Another person in our party had the risotto. There were bits of hard rice, cold mushrooms and the chicken had so many sinew pieces it made the guest want to be sick. We left Cooks starving after paying £135 odds for the privilege. We could even make the excuse for them that they were busy, as we were the only ones in there at the time on a Sunday. This should have maybe been a red flag. Cooks is one place to avoid if you want a decent meal. .

We used a Groupon voucher for the steak meal with 2 glasses of wine. The steak was cooked to perfection as usual. Wine was lovely. Service is great, staff very polite and friendly. Great value for money. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Our waitress was lovely and friendly. I think she was under pressure but she still had a smile on her face. My food was not warm enough especially the chips although the food tasted good I would go again it didn’t put me off that much

Food was good but very slow to arrive....nearly an hour for our meal. Even desserts took nearly 30 mins to arrive. Weren't able to have separate bills but could pay separately. Other places seem to manage this so presumably the technology is available. Staff friendly and cheerful.

My friends and I dined at Cooks on Friday. We opted for their express menu and found it offered a varied choice of options and was exceptional value for money. The food was very tasty and great quality. The service was fantastic, the ladies who looked after us were first class. Can’t fault this restaurant for staff, food and value for money.

All three of us enjoyed a Sunday roast. Waitress was lovely. Dessert was too. Nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Thank you

Another huge disappointment. As a first time visit to the premises and being the only diners initially on the premises, the food was tasteless and decidedly average and somewhat overpriced. My son did like his Cajun chicken pasta however. My special of the day as a starter of garlic and chilli king prawns at £7.95 was in actual fact probably 4 pre shelled and frozen king prawns with a cheap sweet chilli sauce on a small piece of toasted bread. No flavour whatsoever, the piri piri chicken salad and sweet potato fries was equally low cost to prepare and equally flavourless. The steak pie was beef stew with a puff pastry disc added to it and some barely cooked and uninspired veg. Having been to several places locally recently this is unfortunately another place we will avoid in the future.
