The food never disappoints, I always have the slow cooked beef and my husband and father-in-law had the steak pie, the meat just falls apart. My father-in-law loved the food and managed to fit in 3 courses.

Always excellent food and great service. The staff are always so attentive and friendly.

Lovely staff. Clean restaurant. Amazing food. Highly recommend the mac & cheese and add the black pudding and truffle fries on the side.

It was very good and the food was lovely. My only complaint would be the slow service. It wasn’t busy so there’s no excuse for that!

Had not been to Cooks for a while but will definitely be back .The slow cooked beef was melt in the mouth delicious and the steak pie was also delicious .The onion rings were huge and beautifully crisp .Made room for apple and cinnamon crumble and ice cream which was lovely .The staff were very pleasant and the prices are reasonable .All in all -a beautiful meal.

We used a Groupon voucher for the steak meal. It comes with 2 x glasses of wine. I chose the Rose. The steaks were cooked to perfection as usual. Service is great, staff very polite and friendly. Great value for money. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Haven't been in Cook's for a very long time and was very impressed. The waitress was charming and attentive, the food (breaded fish) was delicious and it was a cold day but the restaurant was cosy and welcoming Ax

We arrived at 12md, just as the restaurant opened. We virtually had the restaurant to ourselves throughout our lunch. But the waitress was lovely and we were made to feel very welcome

We had a lovely meal. Set lunch was very reasonably priced. The only complaint is that the diningroom was quite cold.

Food was good and plentiful. Servers were very attentive. The dining room could have done with being updated a little. Also, my wife found it a little cold, so maybe the heating could be looked at? Overall good.

Food was freshly prepared so did not mind waiting for meals.Pasta was one of the best my daughter has tasted and she said it was better than an Italian restaurant. We will visit again,thank you.

I had accidently booked for 30th instead of 29th Sept. When we turned up a day earlier they were very helpful and fitted us in although there were 8 adults, 2 toddlers and baby. Food and service was excellent. Would certainly go back.

Arrived a bit early, but was accepted and shown to our table, soon after and after reading through the menu we got to order our meals. They arrived and I have to say the standard of the food was excellent and also the staff, we were treated well and made to feel at home. I'm absolutely sure that we will be back again, we're well impressed, well done to all the staff, including the backroom that is often forgotten. Thanks and regards Richard

It’s been a while since my last visit but was as good as I remembered. I had my favourite dish of chicken katsu which as delicious. I did see other dishes that I might try next time. The restaurant decor is really nice so makes for a pleasant dinning experience.

Overall visit was good. Staff were all very pleasant, cheerful and efficient. Food on main course for two was fine that was fish and chips. The chicken curry not so good. Chicken was very dry . Desserts apple crumble and cheese cake were all very nice. Lovely background music

The main meals we had at Cooks were absolutely disgusting. The three people in our party has steak pie. The meat was so tough nobody could actually chew it. The vegetables were cold and brick hard and inedible. Another person in our party had the risotto. There were bits of hard rice, cold mushrooms and the chicken had so many sinew pieces it made the guest want to be sick. We left Cooks starving after paying £135 odds for the privilege. We could even make the excuse for them that they were busy, as we were the only ones in there at the time on a Sunday. This should have maybe been a red flag. Cooks is one place to avoid if you want a decent meal. .
