It would have been 6 stars if there wasn't a 12.5% "optional" service charge added. I do not agree with the customer having to ask for this to be removed if I want to leave a different amount. A gratuity should be at the discretion of the customer, then it is down to the restaurant to decide how it gets distributed amongst staff.

We had good service, good food and it was good to be back!

Well laid out to accommodate covid 19 requirements. Still the same good service, safely delivered whilst maintain a very pleasant atmosphere. Food of a high standard using good ingredients. Compliments to the chef. A very pleasant evening out.

First time back since start of Covid. We’ve been waiting for Côte to reopen so was really looking forward to today and would have gone with or without Eat Out Help Out. As always the service and food was really good. There was hand wash available and waiters kept their distance and wore visors. We had to wait a bit to get the bill because I think they had a change in shifts or it was break time so we kind of got forgotten about but it was easy enough to get someone’s attention.

Everything was fantastic on our visit, from the wonderful welcome, to the outstanding food that was served to us to the fine wine, everything was cooked to perfection. Will definitely recommend and be back soon.

Attentive service, good food delivered quickly - as reliable as ever

Food was delicious as always and we were looked after by David who was very attentive and friendly. Really glad Cote is open again. We’ll certainly be back soon, especially after David’s wine recommendation.

Great to be back. Team were friendly, professional and, as always, delivered great customer service. There was an issue with one of our meals and it was handled in a completely appropriate and speedy manner So pleased to be able to eat with you again.

Missed the Cote English breakfast so much! Friendly, efficient but unobtrusive service as ever. Wonderful experience!

Very enjoyable meal, Apart from the noise from the staff chatting because they had nothing to do, And, The lamb my wife had did have excess fat on it, could of been trimmed, Will be going back, hopefully this will not happen again.

Was great to return on Wednesday and we were delighted that the internal modifications made us feel extremely comfortable and safe and protected. We were surprised at the extent of the menu and pleased to say the the quality of service and the quality of the food were both first class on the evening. It was a delightful meal in a friendly pleasant environment which made us feel very safe that we could return at any time. Well done to the team for getting it right for their customers.

Back after a long time but it’s as if we had not been away, as usual everything was excellent especially the food and we felt relaxed and really enjoyed our meal.. We now look forward to the next time.

We had the crab mayonnaise for starter, we asked the waiter if the crab was fresh and after checking with his manager he said yes. The starter came and it turnout that it wasn’t fresh at all, very smelly and unbeatable at all. We had one child menu and ordered a croque Monsieur, which is infact a club sandwich or just toast with cheese. Extremely disappointed!

The whole experience was fantastic, the food was beautiful as always, the staff was lovely as always and we had a really lovely time. Obviously the ‘eat out’ scheme was the icing on the cake. It was like being back at home.... Shame there was no mussels on the menu!

We have had Côte at home throughout lockdown. Now you have re-opened in Basingstoke just loved the experience of dining out again. Please keep the Côte at home service it’s great for those who can’t get out. Such lovely food - well done.

Very friendly when arrived, quickly seated and served, but didn’t feel rushed at all.

AMAZING! We loved the food, I never thought I would enjoy a steak in Basingstoke more than at Miller and carter! You proved me wrong! And generally the service was very good. The only teeny thing is that we had a very lovely waiter who just... vanished. We then say there for so long with dirty plates I had to call someone over and ask where he had gone and was told oh I’ll be your waiter from now on.. just would have been nice to be told as it felt like we had been forgotten about... it’s hard to say if it’s value for money due to the government scheme, but it was worth the cost on the menu even though we didn’t pay it.

From the moment we arrived we were treated under the Covid guidelines. Staff wore masks, there was hand sanitiser on arrival. The food was delicious as always. The large patio doors were open so a gentle breeze came through the restaurant. Great service, friendly, polite and very welcoming

Good Food and pleasant environment. Went for my joint birthday meal with family when restaurant opened again after COVID. Utilised the Eat Out to help Scheme. Staff wore protective masks, sanitier around the restaurant. Were attentive but not in your face. Recommend to anyone to pay a visit.

We both had the Boeuf Bourgignon. Not absolutely the best BB we've ever had, but we both enjoyed it. We both enjoyed our dessert as well. Nice to have cold water on the table. Staff were very friendly and helpful. There are other things on the menu we'd enjoy so we'll come again. it's good that the food is relatively straightforward and not all kinds of things mixed up, drizzled with this and that and spoilt by having lots of other flavours added.
