My wife's soup didn't come out with the starters. Server didn't mention the option of sauces to go with the steak. The steak lacked flavour. Management were really good.

I had booked a table for 6 and when we arrived there were only 5, we waited 45 minutes to get our first drink - 55 minutes to get our starters (of breads and olives) and as soon as we received the breads our mains were brought to the table - we sent the mains back and were questioned over what were our actual starters as we are only earning bread?! Too little staff on duty to service the customers.

Sadly our first visit was spoilt by the wrong main dish being delivered and then eating while my guest had finished. Also a member of the team gave us the wrong info about a dish saying it had sauce When iT didn’t do was very hard to eat. I like Cote and was delighted that you’ve gone to Basingstoke .,.. just need a little more finess.

Really nice breakfast, and very good value for money with the hot drink/juice/cooked dish deal. Service was a little slow at times, but we weren't in a rush so this wasn't an issue for us - and our waitress was absolutely lovely too!

I visited in February for dinner and March for breakfast both were great and I would highly recommend. I would advise booking in advance as it’s normally busy. I booked via the website which was quick and easy.

Never had a bad meal at Côte, mine and my Partners favourite place. Would recommend to anyone who wants decent food with a good atmosphere alongside good service.

Food and atmosphere were great but service poor and we were overcharged even though we had a voucher. Coffee took forever to arrive and we had to prompt the waitress to get it.

Set in Festival Place near to some rather loud and garish establishments, it has a much quieter atmosphere and ambience, the colours tastefully muted with a range of table setting, some in quiet bays. As the doors close, its quietness envelopes diners as they are met by attentive staff; we were shown to our table quickly and, from then, the evening flowed along memorably as the staff looked after our every need (and some we had not thought of). There is a range of menus, from the set two-course to à la carte with a food choice of wines or beers. We had a lovely, pre-film meal, unhurried and watched over by an attentive staff who knew when attentive meant staying away. I am please its business and reputation are growing, both well deserved. Our first meal there with friends was thoroughly enjoyable, our last by ourselves was equally enjoyable and we will be back. Looking forward to our next visit says everything about a restaurant.

Early Sunday morning breakfast. Arrived just as the restaurant opened, one of the waitresses raised her eyebrows and looked at another member of staff as if to say 'really, this early'! I asked if they were open and said I had seen her look when we arrived, she was embarrassed. She did not serve us during our visit, whether this was deliberate or not I don't know. Our service however was great, attentive without being intrusive.

There is a good atmosphere in restaurant- nice and open and staff all friendly and helpful. We had quite a wait for our food but the manager came over to explain what was happening and then offered us all free desserts. Food was excellent.

I booked prior to going as it can get busy. The food was good with a choice of 2 set: menu s as well as a la carte. The food was lovely - I ate off the prestige set menu - French onion soup, half rchicken ( very moist with beautiful crispy skin) with chips and a pole crumble to finish. All for under £19. Excellent value. The staff were eattentive from the moment we stepped through the door until we left. Well worth another visit. My favourite restaurant when shopping in Basingstoke.

The food was excellent and the choice was very good especially as one was gluten-free and one was vegetarian. Only issue was that the person who showed us to our table didn't seem to know that there was a separate vegetarian menu and my wife had to go looking for one. Apart from that the service was very good albeit a little slow.

Service ran very smoothy for mothers day. Food was fab, staff need more etiquette training(don't lean across to serve people! Should aways serve Ladies first as well) Phoebe made our visit, she served our desserts, had a lovely disposition and was professional at service.

Shame as decor was nice , food very good and people were lovely. needs to improve for me to return as not cheap.

Poor slow service. Had to wait a long time to even get a drink. food was variable, chicken parfait was good, prawns were not in the same sauce as per last visit. Duck was not as expected, it was very thinly sliced with no crispy skin and was served pink even though my guest asked for it well done, I suspect that it was only a fraction on the duck breast. The monkfish was cooked ok but the bacon was almost non existent the sauce underneath was cool not hot and was watery with canned slimy mushrooms. Dessert, I requested crepe in grand marnier, this was dreadful, the crepes were cold and the alcohol was still raw inedible. I was disappointed when I saw that my dessert was still on the bill. I will not be returning.
