Excellent food. Table for 2. Was not happy on being presented a bill with a 12.5% service charge!!! I was t given the choice if I wanted to leave a tip! I duely complained & had it removed from my bill. This was the only downside to a pleasant evening.

The food and staff were amazing as always at Amersham. However, we came for mother’s day Breakfast and felt a little rushed - plates were cleared when my mother was still eating and bill given without us asking for it. We realise it is a busy day but we booked for 10am and were out by 1050am. We feel longer needs to be allocated for bookings particularly as it was a special occasion.

staff were great and very helpful, food was OK too. I find Amersham layout (not much you can do about this ,sorry) poor with food coming in and out through the narrow walkway to the toilets-opposite our table, Was expecting to get a lapful of food any minute. Really noisy table behind us , great to see people enjoying them selves but they did 'take over' a little. Will come back

The staff were very efficient and helpful. Atmosphere good although we were grateful to be in the quieter area as it was a very busy and noisy lunchtime (Fathers Day). Thank you for making my mother’s 92nd birthday special with a birthday cake.

Food was excellent as usual. Service was poor today which is unusual for this restaurant, especially as it was a Monday lunhtime, when it wasn't too busy

Service was excellent - very polite and friendly. Food really very good for a set menu, though I would have preferred some bread with my whitebait. Wine also very good. We would recommend Cote highly and we will be back

Again another lovely meal, consistently good. My husband enjoyed the fish stew as always, and the crab starter went down a treat. No problem for the coeliac amongst us either with her own menu, and we were welcomed with a warm friendly smile, before being shown to our table. A special mention to our waitress too, for looking after us so well, and a little banter. Great job, welll done

Being in the hospitality industry myself it was my first time at cote brasserie, it was great, food was great, service was good and the restaurant layout was great, When we first arrived we were greeted by a very charming lady who made you feel welcome and show us to our table. I had two problems with this place and one was my chair, i should have asked for one without armrests but i was embarrassed as im a big guy. So we waited for the rest of our table to show when a waitress offered us some bread and olives while waiting which was great. Our guests arrive 10 minutes later and one of which was a pregnant lady and soon as they sat down then waitress pounced on to us asking if we were ready to order, we said we need a few minutes to have a look to which she didn't look to happy with. 5 minutes later she arrived again and she didn't look to happy to be there and took our order and left. From there on it was great, starter arrive promptly and after finishing them main arrived. Now ive been to a fair few restaurant and not once was a check back to see if everything was ok which i found odd, we ate and wait 10 minutes for a plate to be cleared, the restaurant was packed at this point which was great to see! The whole follow of the team working together was great. Our mains got cleared and we had another member of staff offer us dessert menus to look at, she was a happy member of staff. Our original waitress came back to take the order and looked disinterested. The pregnant woman on our table asked if we could get a refill on her water and the waitress said ok but didnt come back. She waited 10 minutes for water and our dessert came out, i asked another member of staff if we could get water and they did it with an instant. Our desserts were good and waited another 10 minutes for plates to be cleared. We asked for the bill and our original waitress came back to take payment not making any conversion with us or asked us how it was. To me that was strange but overall a great night, will definitely be going again!

This is the third time now that the table we had booked was given over to another party. my wife (whose birthday it was) is now inclined to give Cote a miss in future. Sad! Management should take a very hard look at how reservations are recorded . Vincent Morris

a great concept poorly executed by your staff. The chef could not cook eggs or toast. We had to return one meal and it was still not right when eggs were recooked. It meant that two of us out of the three had nearly finished before the other person had started. The toast almost all white (i.e. hardly toasted at all) This was clear to see but the staff still served it, probably hoping we wouldn't say anything. We noticed that another table had to return a meal as well. What a pity. Management is not working well.

My partner & I enjoyed our lunchtime experience at Cote. We have given 5 stars in 5 of the 6 categories & this reflects our satisfaction & enjoyment. The food courses were excellent. Value for money was the only category that we gave 5 out of 6 stars. This reflects that we felt we had to choose from the al a carte menus since we felt the choices on offer for the set menu were limited. We felt this was the only aspect where we think an improvement could be made.

We are regular visitors to Cote Brasserie in Amersham and last night we decided to start my Husband's 80th birthday celebrations there. As always all the staff were very attentive especially the lovely Manager Jo and Nick our waiter. The food as always was perfect, cannot praise the restaurant enough. Always exceptionally good and consistent and the staff are a delight. Highly recommended.

I asked the waitress specifically what is in the special dessert - plum tart and was assured it was just pastry and plums with cinnamon ice cream. I have an, albeit not life threatening, allergy to nuts where my mouth will swell up. I took one bite of the tart to discover that it was frangipane - almonds! When I brought this to the attention of the waitress she showed no concern other than to ask if I wanted another dessert and when told no, as my mouth was now swollen, she offered to take it off the bill. When the waiter brought the bill and I raised this, I was met with a casual 'Oh, these things happen' response. Stunning. Luckily my allergy is not life threatening, but still this showed staff are trained poorly - they don't know what is in the food to describe it, they don't know how to handle situations. It was stunning in this day and age. When the manager then came over, I was reprimanded for not disclosing my allergy - no real apology. I pointed out that it is not a life threatening allergy and I accept that mistakes are made, but what angered me was the response from the staff. Never again.

We came for a Sunday lunch wedding anniversary celebration gathering with friends from the local area. It was our first visit to this Cote and everyone was very welcoming. We had a spacious table and our hosts seemed friendly and interested, going above and beyond when one of our number started to exhibit an allergic reaction (not food related!). Our host also brought free celebratory fizz for all 6 which was unexpected and a delightful surprise. Later we were also given a lovely bunch of flowers - also unexpected. The food was delicious and everyone had such a good time that we easily spent a good 4 hours leisurely catching up and were not in any way made to feel hurried or rushed out. But the time we left folk were starting to a drive for early evening settings. All in all a great meal and a great spot to spend the afternoon reminiscing with both our party and our hosts. Thanks - we will return!

As usual the food, environment and waiter service was very good. However, we did have to wait rather a long time for the main course - 26 minutes in fact. When I enquired no explanation was forthcoming. A minor blip on an otherwise good lunch.

We have been visiting Cote in Amersham for the last few years but lately more and more. We love French food and wine and visit France as much as possible so it is a joy to have this French restaurant rather closer! The welcome is always delightful, (where do they find such lovely staff with so much personality?!) The food is consistently of excellent quality and presented very well and most importantly, delicious! Something unusual to Cote I think, are the monthly newsletters always containing an offer, usually in the form of a free cocktail, glass of wine or even a bottle of wine. This is such a fun idea as it kicks off an evening dining out in a really special way and is a real incentive for a visit. Thank you to you all at Cote for making so many of our evenings dining out so enjoyable.

Excellent service, considering how many people were in the restaurant. We have visited several Cote restaurants, and all have been of a similar high standard of food and service. It is important to me, being a coeliac, to feel confident that the food is completely gluten free, and Cote accreditation gives me that confidence.

The reception and the service really made my mother feel special. When we asked if they could put my mother’s duck in a bag, it was wrapped in silver paper in the shape of a duck- beyond expectations. The waiter was also extremely helpful and the food was top class. Overall a high end London restaurant couldn’t have produced a better experience. I’m really sorry I did not take the names, but the lady that showed us to our table was dressed in blue and our table was through the start of the restaurant on the left hand side. Hopefully you will be able to identify her and our waiter and let them know how well they did. The booking was @ 1.30 on the 31st

I prefer food served on plates rather than boards and glass pots. Also prefer table for four to be one rectangular table rather than two round tables.
