The good was nice but the service was amazingly slow even though the restaurant was about a quarter full. It took an hour (!) for our first food to arrive. It took a while to order desert and again to pay. It ruined what could have been a nice experience.
As always, excellent food, lovely service, great atmosphere. Definitely, my favourite place to eat.
Amazing food and staff as always. Love the November specials. Simply delicious.
Warm welcome and attentive service at Cote, Battersea Rise. We chose from the Christmas menu which was varied and excellent value. Topped off nicely with two complimentary bottles of delicious Cremant de Bourgogne. My only small complaint was that the duck, although beautifully cooked, was a little too salty and the accompanying vegetables could have been hotter. I have been to various branches of Cote on numerous occasions and have never been disappointed.
I am very disappointed with my recent visit to the Cote Brasserie - Battersea. The reservation was for 10.45am on a Sunday so when I arrived, the restaurant was not busy at all. While we were given the option of where to sit, the waiter then just walked away without presenting us with our menus or asking us whether we would like a drink. Within about 1 minute another waiter came to our table to ask whether we were ready to order. He didn’t say hello or at least come across in a friendly warm manner either at all. Seeing that we weren’t ready or hadn’t even looked at the menu we asked he return in a few minutes. When he returned to take our order a few minutes later he stood at our table looking at his ordering tablet without saying a word – he didn’t look up or prompt us with a smile or a word to say anything so it was a very strange and again cold exchange! I asked if I could have raspberry jam with my croissant and the waiter looked at me blankly – I said that I was sure the restaurant had some. Then when the food was presented the same waiter stood there without saying a word awkwardly pushing our things around on the table to place our food down. I was presented with 3 jams but no raspberry. By that time, I had given up on trying to exchange in a normal human way with our water so didn’t bother asking him for the raspberry jam. While we ate our brunch we weren’t asked whether everything was ok nor were we asked if we would like any more beverages. It took about 40 minutes for the waiter to come and clear our table despite him serving tables right next to ours and seeing that we had clearly finished. I had to ask him to take our dishes and for the bill. Clearing our table seemed to have been just as much of a struggle as it was placing the food down on our table – pushing plates over each other and tipping them over the edge and zero exchange of words. Of course, the bill didn’t show up so I got up and asked the manager at the till for the bill. Paying …. I had to back to the manager to pay and I explained that while I usually tip, I didn’t see any reason to tip on this occasion as our waiter and the service was severely lacking. She apologised and explained it was down to staff sicknesses, they were slightly short staffed – I felt that this was just a brush off. If someone chooses to work in the service industry (this being our waiter) then they need to be prepared to interact with people and complete, what I see as, a service standard set of steps to ensure your customer is happy – it’s really doesn’t take a lot. I usually go to the Cote Farnham and the service is by far much stronger there … and at least the waiters can exchange sentences with their customers and interact in a normal human way.
Was a girls lunch to celebrate my 60th birthday and we were looked after very well by the team, especially the Manager who made us Espresso Martinis! (Dark haired guy with glasses- didn’t get his name) He even organised a special dessert with a candle as a surprise! Really enjoyable
Very good food and service and good atmosphere. Will come again
The food and service and atmosphere excellent as usual. The staff in this branch are particularly good.
This is the nearest Cote Brasserie to where I live so I tend to visit it more often that the others. It also happens to be my favourite.
Once again an excellent lunch in pleasant surroundings. All good.
My favourite Cote Brasserie. Always excellent service, food and ambiance.
The food, service and atmosphere are always excellent. Good value for money.
Excellent food and service. The staff at this branch are particularly nice.
Excellent as always. Good food, good wine and excellent service.
Cannot fault it. Good food, good wine, good service and very pleasant staff.
Very nice restaurant - no noise problems. Good food and excellent service.
Great service , food & wine what more could you ask for .
A birthday dinner for an old friend and we had a lovely evening. Food was as great, service was average, but it didn’t impact on our evening.
Had a really lovely meal with friends. First class food at very reasonable prices.
Good food, great service and a relaxing environment. I would definitely come back again.
It was a quiet Sunday evening, the restaurant only had about 4 tables that needed to be waited on during our dinner. Despite this we were stood waiting at the door to be seated for a while. Once seated it took them about 15 mins before bringing some water for the table, considering it was empty better service was expected. It was also a slow wait until they took our order. The order came out quick once we had ordered. The starters were good but the main course was quite poor. The steak was close to being overdone and the mussels were terrible. The mussel sauce was lovely but the quality of the mussels themselves was really poor, the shells hadnt been cleaned so I bit some grit pieces as I was eating which was a poor experience. Some of the shells were cracked/not opened and some of them had poor quality mussel meat. The dessert was pleasant apart from the frozen berries and white chocolate sauce. The chocolate fondant and creme caramel were delicious. Overall I really expected a better quality considering how well maintained all of the other branches are. The service was average and food was not up to the standard of other branches
I took my guest to the restaurant. It was his first visit. We enjoyed excellent food, attentive service and a wonderful atmosphere. He was bowled over snd is looking forward to his next visit. He undrestands why this is my favourite place to eat.
Very nice place, great food and accomodating staff. Thank you!
Great evening, wonderful food and amazing atmosphere. Would definitely recommend
The food was excellent and the set menus are wonderful value for money. It’s a pleasure to eat in a restaurant where you can hear your dinner companions speaking without losing any atmosphere. We had a couple of unfortunate glitches in the service - the wrong main course was brought for one of our party which caused a delay while the correct one was cooked and served, and there was an item on the bill that shouldn’t have been. Both were resolved efficiently by the apologetic waitress. Overall, a good evening and I would definitely return.
Lovely brunch as always. Great kids activity pack to keep our toddler amused
I came here with my family to celebrate my 30th birthday. The staff, especially the manager, were brilliant! So attentive and thoughtful and made me feel extra special. Thank you so much! We’ll be back soon!
Attentive, polite and quick service, good food excellent value- a good visit
We were a large group of people but service was amazing, they looked after us and food was great
Service is always lovely, food is always great, thanks you :)
Great food, excellent service! Had a lovely 30th birthday meal here last night, the food was great and the service was spot on. One of my friends didn’t quite like the duck due to it being too pink for her personal taste but was happy to pay as it clearly stated on the menu it’s pink and they kindly took it off the bill :)
Excellent food, wine and service - highly recommend. A +++
Delicious food. Great atmosphere, reasonably priced. excellent. We are regulars.
Great food, good atmosphere. Delightful but slow service. Got the impression that it was busier than expected and so they were under staffed.
Charming atmosphere, good food as always from Cote. Initial service a little slow. Menus and wine arrived promptly but then waited about 15-20 mins before our order was taken which was a bit too long. Our initial waitress was also looking after a large group so eventually handed over to another member of the team and things improved.
Great service and food. Attentive staff and gave the two of us a booth as it wasn’t so busy. Nice touch. See all again soon.
Service was a little slow and hard to get the attention of waiting staff. When my medium rare steak came it was still mooing. This was addressed by staff in the restaurant but by the time a replacement was cooked the rest of my group had finished their meals.
I enjoyed a delicious gluten free full English breakfast> Food arrived promptly served by friendly and attentive staff.
Great service lovely food & atmosphere wonderful friendly staff & not over powering
We waited 50 minutes for the breakfast to arrive after ordering and when it did it was cold. I sent it back and it came 10 minutes later (hot but toast had gone cold by this point). My friend had already finished his breakfast.
