Service was ridiculously slow!! For all courses the wait was just too long had to wait over 40 mins for lemon tart and cream brûlée
Great food and service and a lovely free bottle of wine. Our food was with us in no time as was any extras we asked for. Really pleasant atmosphere. The toilets are freezing though!
Food delicious as usual that’s the main reason for going plus free cocktails. Pleasant surroundings, A clean and tidy restaurant plus staff polite and professional.
Another very pleasant lunch at cote. Consistently good, in all respects!
The food was delicious and the service was excellent. There was some confusion with the bill and we were charged incorrectly for two items. They rectified the issue quickly once we pointed it out and that’s the only reason we deducted one star.
What a fantastic evening. Food was wonderful. Staff amazing. Alanis was brilliant a real credit to your restaurant. Would highly recommend. Looking forward to coming back later in the month.
We usually eat at your Bury St Edmunds Branch so it was nice to have a change at Bishop’s Stortford. The staff were courteous and helpful. We enjoyed the Kir Royales beforehand and the food was good.
Staff very friendly helpful and curteous, although the starters were late , we had an apology and an adjustment to the bill without asking. thank you Cotes Stortford Paul Sexton

A lovely meal and great service. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Will come again and would recommend this place. Easy walking distance from all car parks in Bishops Stortford
Lovely meal as always, great service, friendly staff. Will visit again Thanks
All five of us really enjoyed out meal and time spent in the Bishops Stortford Cote yesterday. The restaurant was very busy but the service as always was very good.
Good service and great food. Will keep coming back. John
It is always a treat to have a meal at Cote Brasserie. We wanted to celebrate a birthday and also to enjoy the Chateaubriand which was on for a special. Everything from the booking, the welcome and the meal itself worked very well and although the restaurant was busy for a Tuesday night, the friendly and efficient staff produced a 100% satisfactory experience. And although we felt we dined like royalty with a bottle of big name red wine, the bill was very modest. We shall certainly hope to be repeating the experience soon. Highly recommended!
Lovely food, great service and very family friendly but also would suit for a romantic meal and parties for adults. Took my daughter as a valentines treat with her friend. Both kids and I enjoyed. Refreshing to see gluten free diet well catered for too.
Beautiful meal courteous service! We always like visiting Cote in Bishop’s Stortford.. Our family party all enjoyed themselves and agree with my comments.
another enjoyable visit with attentive staff, great for a Mother's Day celebration. Breakfast as usual was lovely and the whole group had a good time.
It was our first time we couldn’t have what we wanted on the lunch time set menu, as they had run out of that choice. So a bit disappointed, however we did enjoy what we had instead.
Friendly service, efficient service, all round good experience and good food
Lovely lunch as always and great drinks and service too. Lovely lunch as always and great drinks and service too. Lovely lunch as always and great drinks and service too.
Very good food and nice choice. Good gluten free menu. Waiters brought wrong beer asked for low alcohol and gave us normal good thing we noticed. Complementary cocktails on arrival were lovely.
Great service, made mum and I feel very welcome for lunch. Tasty food and a good selection. Cote has proved itself a reliable option in the local town, I use regularly.
A great place fo for a quiet meal with family and friends. Attentive staff who were happy to indulge and talk to my young daughter. Had a query on the starter, which was rectified quickky without fuss.
Good food, good service. All staff very pleasant and helpful nice and friendly. The atmosphere was buzzy without being too noisy. On a cold night, it was lovely and warm inside.
Lovely food , the service was very good very friendly. Would definitely recommended this Restaurant and will be going back soon. Christina
Nice relaxed bistro, nice location. Sadly, moule frites was very disappointing and had to be returned. Mussels were absolutely tiny and 3/4 of shells were empty. That being said, the restaurant happily exchanged this for the poulet grille and didn't charge for mussels or replacement dish. Poulet grille was absolutely amazing! Sauce, herbs, mushrooms, seasoning all very much on point. We will definitely visit again.
service and food was very good. My husband and I enjoyed our mussels and desserts and our friends enjoyed their special meals for starters and mains.
Great food, good wine, great service as always! Be back again soon!
All very nice - food, service, ambiance, comfort, etc. Cote is one of our favourite restaurants. It isn't cheap but good value. Thank you very much!
Fabulous food as always. Great staff attentive but not intrusive . Great service and relaxing atmosphere
Great meal and and staff outstanding. A special meal for us at Easter and not disappointed. It is our special place and shall return very soon, Pav a great manager.
A regular venue for pre-theatre dinners. All works well. Thank you
Always good quality food and a nice atmosphere for a very reasonable price. Service polite if a little bit slow on this particular evening when awaiting main course, hence only 5 out of 6. But overall very good value.
only excepting pre booked due to flood in kitchen ! They should have cancelled everyone. Zero atmosphere and poor food. Waste of our money and time.
The welcome drink was nice. Salmon starter was good as was the prawn starter from the regular meu. The sea bass was enjoyable but the duck was the standout dish as ever. We were disappointed that the monkfish was finished though. The house white wine was also pretty nice.Service was ok, staff seem to have changed and whilst ok a bit less attentative than previously. This remains a good dining option at a reasonable price for Boshop’s Stortford. The duck alone is worth it!!!!
Great food and service every time. That's why we keep coming back.
Service was very very slow in spite of restaurant not being full and others receiving their food more quickly we had to ask where ours were. My sister had the minute steak which was over cooked and tough. There was no garnish either. When she ordered a salad this was wilted and past it’s sell by date!
Very average Had to wait a while to be seated even though an empty restaurant Staff pleasant No obvious sign of restaurant manager Which just shows I had a willing but nervous waiter Boudin noir and mussels not available mwhivb was a shame We had a lovely cocktail to Start but confusion with our wine order The atmosphere was not familiar . I'm a local and that familiarity and welcoming feel is no longer there The wait was not long to be served dinner from point of order but it was a pretty average dining experience I'm sorry to say this and I say it with a lot of regret .
Our first time at Cote Brasserie in Bishops Stortford (normally go to St Albans) and we weren't disappointed. I had booked a table for 4 at 3:00pm on Mothers day. On our arrival we were informed by a person that I believe to be the manager, that our table was not ready. He apologised, gave us a complimentary bottle of Champagne and asked us if we would mind sitting in the garden until our table was ready, This was not a problem as the patio heating was on full blast and it was a pleasant afternoon. No sooner had we sat down, a waitress appeared with the Champagne and glasses, popped the cork and we settled in for the afternoon. Within minutes we were then told that our table was ready and we transferred back into the restaurant and had a wonderful meal. The customer service comfortably met our expectations and more. Well done to all the staff at Bishops Stortford.
