Difficult one this. Not impressed with some stuff but other bits were good. Question ? Why do u do this survey less than four hours after we leave the restaurant? Seem at little bit desperate to get some feedback.! Great to see you open with ok covid requirements. We ordered hordevers as a starter as didn’t want a starter. Half way though eating our mains arrived so we had them together. Partner asked a manager and he said this is normal as you only wait for someone to finish a starter normally before you serve mains. We both would have preferred to have finished before our mains arrived. My partner Seabream was excellent. My Steak was order medium to well done and when it arrived it looked a bit rare. I decided to try it out and found it undercooked to my taste. I took a photo as I wondered if I’m being a little bit finicky as I understand cooking steak can be subjective. Comparing that photo to some I’ve found on the internet they suggest it was rare. I have a dietary issue with uncooked meat and I found it difficult to finish the meal. Not wanting to complain as I had tried to eat about half of the more cooked areas of the steak I thought I’d just let it ride but my partner noticed my discomfort and did ask me about it. The cheese dessert was excellent but my partner suggested she would have liked a cracker option rather than just bread. The service was good with all the table servers being good and covid aware. I realise this was your first night open and realise it was very busy but cooking steak to medium well means to me no red in the centre and my photo shows you didn’t. If you want me to email the photo I will. This is why I have given you only 2 stars.. My partner would probably give the food 4 stars.. My partner asked about a NHS discount as she has been having a busy time recently but personal it gets to me bit that she does this so when your manager declined she wasn’t happy but I told her you’re had a hard time too so please let it drop. Perhaps you might want to have a policy /acceptable decline statement for your staff to be able to handle this. Overall the restaurant did well with front of house staff doing their best in weird times but my food wasn’t up to standard.

Fabulous overall. The only complaint was mums dessert (which she did not get charged for) apparently was cold and rubbery. I enjoyed it so much I have booked for tomorrow night for my husband and I to try the lobster. It's great to have cote open again.

Poor experience on arrival (Alex) claimed we hadn't booked properly so we couldn't have the free cocktails until we rebooked on our phones in the restaurant. Obviously didn't trust us !! Then proceeded to ignore us - we waited at the table patiently, but eventually had to summon a waiter to take our order. The manager ( Jeff?) took over looking after us and was excellent - he retrieved a bad situation. Why employ poor staff? you never used to - all our previous visits were very good. Probably will return, but nevertheless it was a disappointing evening.

This time, we were having a pre-theatre dinner. Rapid service was important to us, and the staff delivered. Not only were they attentive, but also absolutely charming. As usual, the food was wonderful - we were reminiscing over dinner and realised that in several years of dining at Bury St Edmunds Côte we have never been disappointed!

Excellent professional service and outstanding menu selection. The choice from three menus provides good value and the menu changes each month which makes it varied and interesting. Welcome and service is always delivered with a smile.

We took friends to enjoy a meal last evening and are pleased to say that they were most impressed. We knew that they were going to enjoy the whole experience as we are regular customers as a result of our own experiences. To make the evening start well the provision of complimentary G&Ts was impressive. The food, wine and service were just as we had hoped and all in all we had a most enjoyable time. Thank you, we shall be back quite soon!

We were completely satisfied with the food, service and ambience. All the staff who served us demonstrated a friendly and efficient attitude. No hesitation in recommending this restaurant.

A very busy restaurant meant some waiting, and reminding of staff for drinks etc, however this didn’t detract from a very enjoyable evening. We were a large table of 9 so had plenty to chat about in between courses, the squid starter was nicely cooked with a dip on the side. The monkfish main was tasty, but a little salty as were the chips. The chocolate mousse for pud, was perfect, deliciously chocolatey without being over sweet.

Fantastic welcome from the manager. Brilliant, warm, smiling server. Fab food. We were recognised from our previous visits which made it feel extra nice. They were happy to adapt one of the dishes to my wife’s taste. 😊

Good and service very good and food good also, One noisy birthday table which stops it being all gold stars, but I know that’s difficult for the restaurant to manage I guess we could have asked for another table but on arrival the restaurant was pretty busy although not by time we left but it’s a tricky one!

We booked a table for a quick, early dinner before a show and it was perfect. Plats rapide, some spinach and a bottle of wine and we were all set!

It was my Sons 21st birthday and the staff did everything to make sure we had a nice evening. Lovely atmosphere, attentive staff, good food and overall great experience.

Great service. The breakfast is incredible value. The vegetarian breakfast was delicious. Best veggie sausages ever. Elegant surroundings with proper napkins! I thoroughly recommend this restaurant.
