Just have a lovely lunch in Bury st Edmunds Cote We go very often an never been let down . We were early for lunch today and noticed people eating late breakfast . It looked fabulous, we intend to go and try it very soon. Today we pushed the boat out and had “chateaubriand” We had to wait a little while but the waitress did tell use it would take a while . We were in no rush . Gosh , it was so worth waiting for , absolutely delicious. If you love rare fillet stake , you have to try it . Fabulous.
Excellent service. Delicious meal. Staff very polite and friendly. Had the choice of a table exactly where we wanted to be seated. A most enjoyable experience.
We regularly use this restaurant and are always happy but unfortunately tonight was a disappointment. Staff were struggling, orders not getting put through to kitchen and a general air of dissatisfied customers. It wouldn’t put me off of going again as I have had more good experiences then bad but a few of the staff need to be a bit more on the ball as people were leaving without ordering desserts and coffees as they couldn’t wait any longer.
Great food and great service. I’ve never had a bad meal at Côte in Bury St Edmunds. The staff cope very well even when it is very busy.
Four of us went for lunch on Sunday. We all had delicious food - mains and puddings for all. The service was excellent, just the right amount of interaction. We would definitely recommend and hope to return soon.
Another day in Bury St Edmunds and as usual lunch at Cote. We always enjoy a visit to Cote and again we were not disappointed . looking forward to the next time!.
Birthday lunch - chef and kitchen staff at Bury really know their stuff. Szilvester our waiter went above and beyond - he is the best of an overall excellent waiting crew, attentive yet unintrusive. Complimentary kir royale’s for the occasion. Why eat anywhere else? Loved it.
Service from Entering til leaving was Better than most. the wait staff were polite and very helpful answering questions about the menu, the food couldn't be faulted, we enjoyed the evening. thanks to all the staff we had an enjoyable evening.
Lovely food, ambience and staff. It was busy so after main courses service was a little slow but overall experience was wonderful and we will definitely return.
We have used Cote in the Midlands before and were delighted to be told in Birmingham that we had a branch in BSE. We are particularly fond of real French food and the service style and know that is just what we get a Cote. We went on this occasion to celebrate my husband's 77th birthday. We also introduced out daughter and fourteen year old grandson to Cote (they are both planning further visits!). We were , as usual, impressed by the wonderful service and being able to eat and enjoy the company at our own pace. Food was exceptional. Incidentally the site of Cote is "my old bank!"
Great all rounder. Smart yet casual, efficient service and great well cooked straightforward food. It's ambiance is bustling, busy and chatty so not so good for a quiet or romantic meal.
The restaurant was chosen for my wife's mothers day dinner and I have made a great choice. The food was exceptional. The service was top notch, and the pleasantries from the staff was all around wonderful. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anybody. Also, the crème caramel and crème brulee were the best we've had in England so far!
Nice atmosphere, good friendly service however the food was average.
Delicious birthday meal steak frites and crepe Suzette yum. Free elderflower gin and tonicMarch promotion and a complementary glass of fizz for my birthday lovely staff
Great service, tasty food, friendly staff, perfect Fathers Day breakfast
A very pleasant experience. We had an excellent meal of chicken from the standard early evening menu. Beautifully cooked and presented. The staff were attentive and friendly
My partner and I often visit this restaurant for lunch and we have never been disappointed. Good see, good ambience and great food, what Moore do you need.
Very poor service. 4 of us had starters & main course. Waitress left half way through. Not one member of staff asked if everything was ok until another waitress came with the card machine when it was time to pay. 2 hours before we were served our main. Not as I had expected.
Excellent service and food.Staff are very helpful ,Thank you for a lovely evening.
Very polite and friendly staff, food hot and delicious . Our favourite local restaurant.
As a repeat customer I'm happy to recommend Cote's Bury St Edmunds restaurant, having had a late lunch there on Sunday 7th April. Good venue, good food, good service, good atmosphere.
The food was lovely however food service was slow. We ordered dessert and the waitress seemed confused so we confirmed the order. The dessert cutlery came and mine was missing. The desserts came and mine was missing. By the time everyone had finished their desserts, mine came. When we paid, we asked for the 12.5% tip to be taken off the bill due to the mistake. They came with the card machine and we split the bill but, when we left we realized they had added £20 something extra that wasn’t on the bill. Really lovely food but, disappointed with the service.
Excellent food with friendly attentive service. Great value for money
Nice food, nice atmosphere, lovly staff and reasonably priced, a good night was had
We absolutely love it here. Excellent service and wonderful food.
Lovely birthday meal and good service.Would recommend this restaurant for lunch or evening meal. Went for birthday meal with family and friends and couldn’t have asked for better.
Second time we have eaten here and was as good as the first time. Food is excellent as is the service. Only gripe we have is having the service tip added to the bill.
Very efficient service, staff very friendly and helpful -this was the second time we had eaten here before going to theatre, and we will definitely come again!
We really enjoyed our visit to Cote. The only thing we would say is that whilst we understand the set menu is very reasonably priced and we shouldn't expect too much but it would be nice to have had for example some peas with my husband's steak and chips and I would have like some form of potato to be served with my bream and greens without having to spend extra on a side order and it would also have been very welcome to have some bread served with my husband's starter of bacon and egg salad and definitely some bread with my soup. Also a wafer and some sauce with my husband's ice cream and a small biscuit or wafer with my iced berries would have been much appreciated. The suggestions above would have made such a difference to our meal. We love coming to Cote for the service, atmosphere and great tasting food but find the portions served a little mean.
Meal, service, all good. Steak one of the most well done I have had for some time. Restaurant is becoming one of the best in Bury district.
This time, we were having a pre-theatre dinner. Rapid service was important to us, and the staff delivered. Not only were they attentive, but also absolutely charming. As usual, the food was wonderful - we were reminiscing over dinner and realised that in several years of dining at Bury St Edmunds Côte we have never been disappointed!
Fantastic Cote in the center of Bury St Edmunds, By far the best one we've ever visited. Beautiful room, great staff and excellent food. Will definitely return..
As we had planned a visit to Bury St Edmunds ,the obvious thing to do next was to book a table for two at our Go To restaurant - which is still Cote . We enjoyed a lovely meal including the complementary glass of Kir Royale.
Delicious food, very nice setting, attentive staff all had steak good quality would recommend, never had a bad meal. Had the blood orange cocktail and 2 glasses of red wine very nice.
This was our first visit and were warmly welcomed and shown to a choice of tables. The restaurant is very roomy and pleasant decor. The knowledge of the waiting staff is very good and different staff attended our table which was a pleasant change as it can be frustrating if your "allocated" server is particularly busy and less busy servers will not attend to you because it is not their "area/table" . The food was all excellent, the prawn starter, one of which tweaked to suit our palate. A beef and chicken main were both delicious and very well cooked. Once minor issue I had was the sugar syrup on the carrots, in my opinion not needed. A very good and varied selection of sweets made the choice very difficult, but the Lemon Tart and Crepe were very nice, perhaps a choice of ice cream rather than cream? An exceptional visit; good food, service and surroundings. We did not have to wait for our meal but the restaurant was not over busy. The meal was not cheap but we did not feel over priced for the quality of the food.
We had a lovely time there with our Friends. The Food was Wonderful and our waiter was extremely helpful and very friendly, will definitely be going again.
Food was delicious 😋 & matched by the staff. We were so well looked after on Friday night that I booked Saturday and it was even better, steak 🥩 on night 1, duck 🦆 on night 2, both cooked perfectly. Fantastic 👍
Love the warm Roquefort salad. Had a lovely meal and 2 gin and tonics which were so good. We both enjoyed the whole experience. Moule frites specially good.
Would recommend this restaurant as the staff are always very friendly creating a relaxing atmosphere & serve good food. Been a few times never been let down.
Lovely meal and enjoyed by my family Staff and food up to expectations at our favourite restaurant in bury st edmunds looking forward to our next visit and hope another free bottle of wine which was superb last night
Beautiful meal tonight. Every course was great and the staff were friendly and really professional. We travel from Colchester to eat here. Thanks Guys for a great evening.
Had a lovely breakfast. Extremely good value especially when we were treated to a complimentary cocktail for booking on line! Our Golden wedding is on Saturday so this was a really nice way to start “ anniversary “ week. Will highly recommend!
We had a nice late lunch, and experience, don’t mind booking again soon...
Service was good. The GF Fish Permentier was a bit too salty. My husband's Beef bourginon was not great. There was only one cubicle available in the ladies’ toilet - the other two were permanently locked causing a long queue. One toilet in a restaurant your size simply isn’t enough. I had exactly the same experience a couple of weeks ago.
We had a friendly greeting and chose where to sit, we enjoyed a glass each of blanc de blanc which was lovely. I ordered Poulet Grille with a side order of creamed spinach and glazed carrots and my friend ordered Haddock Goujons, we shared the side order of vegetables, both meals were delicious, hot and very tasty, will definitely be back again soon.
We enjoyed once again a lovely evening. The service was excellent so too the food. The whole experience was a real treat and we shall look forward to re-visiting.
Really good the staff were brilliant and helped my friend feel special on her birthday
Lovely night and delicious food. Waiter was very friendly and professional. The whole table was very glad to of been served by him.
Lovely venue and caring and efficient staff. Food was excellent too!
Friendly service and well presented dishes. Allowed plenty of time between courses and at the end of the meal.
