Why is the pork not with crackling all the rest of food brilliant

Never disappointed. Lovely atmosphere buzzing. Great attentive staff. Location perfect for The Millennium Theatre Cardiff. When choosing the wine and not sure which of the two we would prefer our waiter gave us a sample of both to try. Great service. Nothing is too much trouble.

Great ambience, busy hustle and bustle of a restaurant. Location was perfect, staff were friendly and very busy, we didn’t receive all our order due to the restaurant being so busy but the overall meal wasn’t ruined by this.

As usual food was excellent and good value for money. Service very good and staff very pleasant and helpful. Slight blip - my friend had the butternut squash dish with poached egg and she found the sauce too mustardy which spoilt it for her.

All of us really enjoyed all our courses, everything was cooked well and tasty plus the service was also fantastic, everyone serving us was friendly and helpful. Perfect!

All excellent except a delay to our main course in the kitchen meant we had to miss our dessert in order to get to the theatre on time.

The steaks we both had were so unevenly cooked, both asked for medium and was raw in some parts and over done in others, also both so fatty only able to eat half of it

The food was delicious, the four of us enjoyed the atmosphere, the service was Superb. The chocolate mousse was the perfect way to end a delicious meal.

This continues to be one of the best Cotes we have visited. Good food cooked well and excellent service. Enjoy it while you can before B____t finishes it off.

Excellent food and service as usual, wine by the glass is a bit pricey but that is indicative of the location unfortunately! Will definitely return and recommend to others

We had a really lovely meal. The food was really good and the staff were excellent, as usual, really friendly and attentive. Excellent!

Booked ahead. Restaurant was fully booked that evening, so was irritated to order food only to be told 3 times they had sold out. Did order some food that was pleasant and prompt,and accepted a glass of wine as gesture of good will without prompting, so handled well. Very noisy, and draughty by the window unfortunately. I felt it was pricey for 2 starters and 2 main courses, one drink and water.

First time dinning here but may well become our regular choice after the opera. Absolutely loved the ambience, and the very quiet jazz playing in the background was perfect. Staff very friendly and polite other than one slightly sultry waitress, but nothing major. We can all have a bad day. Excellent wine, and delicious food. All in all a wonderful dinning experience.

Very lively atmosphere as restaurant was full. Excellent food and service. Very flavoursome and the creme caramel dessert was amazing. Cardiff Bay restaurant very convenient for Wales Millennium Centre.

Had a problem with one of the starters but was very pleased it was not charged for. Otherwise it was a delicious meal

Really nice meal, nice ambience. Enjoyed the whole evening. Service was prompt, pleasant and efficient. Reasonably priced. Food was well cooked, fresh and hot. Service charge automatically added, but option to remove if you ask. However, we were happy to pay the additional.

Service was a little slow but otherwise great! My fillet steak was cooked to perfection, the best I've ever had, as was the beef bourguignon. Been here several times and the food is consistently properly cooked and tasty. I'll be back again soon. It's good to have a large gluten free menu to choose from.

Very disappointing experience. Every time we have been to cote it has been a lovely experience. This time it was as if we were in a rowdy pub. The rugby had been on and people were drunk and shouting and banging the table along with very loud singing. My boyfriend and I could not even have a conversation. I made it quite clear to the staff I was unhappy with the noise and they proceeded to do nothing. Our fillet steak was over done and the wrong pudding was brought out. We were told it was on the house and they would bring the right one. My boyfriend made a complaint and we were given 20% off the bill. To then work our that we were over charged. My boyfriend has emailed to complain and we hope that someone will reply as soon as possible. I am also debating not to visit cote at Cardiff bay for my graduation and booking somewhere else as the overall experience was awful.

Arrived at 6:30 to a lovely full restaurant, the atmosphere was great! We were greeted immediately by a lovely memeber of staff to showed us to our table and took our drinks order. Service was very speedy and food/drinks were delicious! However after the set menu deal finished at 7pm the restaurant quickly cleared out and service became increasingly slow - we waited a long time for our main courses. All in all a lovely night, great value for money.

I had been looking forward to this visit for quite some time. However it was exceptionally disappointing. Having arrived at the time our table was booked we were left waiting 25mins before our order was taken. Our starters were tasteless, especially considering we had chosen from the more expensive specials board. Once the main meals arrived it was clear they had been waiting under a hot lamp for quite some time. However we had also been waiting to have the starters cleared for some time also. We felt as though we couldn’t get the attention of any staff having finished our bottle of wine and unable to order more. I would understand if the restaurant was busy, but it was not. The only thing that came quickly was the bill, but even then it took some time for the server to come and take payment. It was only after we had waitied and then put our coats on to walk to a till that someone attended to us. They then scuttled off without moving the drinks bucket that was blocking myself in my seat. Although this restaurant is right around the corner from my home I surely won’t ever return. And certainly wouldn’t recommend.

Excellent food and service as usual , especially on a very busy day , we had one slight issue , my starter wasn’t hot , changed it without any fuss and then removed it from the bill . I offered to pay for it as the replacement was excellent .

Choose COTE after a previous visit a few years ago. Went for the Cardiff bay as opposed to central. Excellent service from the start, greeting was pleasant. Relaxed atmosphere, food was outstanding to taste and also to look at. Waiter and waitresses were extremely patient and engaging. Overall a great night for myself and my wife on a date night we will defo be returning. Well done and hats off too all.

Service was lovely. I am gluten free but it was no issue at all. Some restaurants make you feel like a burden but it was very easy and accommodating in Côte. Can’t wait to return

Booked as recommended by friend Food was good standard and good meal choices Service slow and poor however from all staff. No single member of staff was identified as dedicated to us. Constantly trying to attract attention but ignored. Not asked if we wanted dessert when we wanted this course and coffee. Waited a long time between first course and second. Disappointed as recommended by friend. Overall experience Food good Service - very poor

Very poor service long wait for all food and drink. When food arrived had to be sent back as cold. Didn’t check to make sure our food was satisfactory or ask if we required more drink.

Booking handled very well by the staff. Drinks, food and other small requests handled promptly and satisfactorily. It was my mum's 91 birthday and she had a wonderful time. We have eaten off the pre-theatre special menu and the full Al a carte menu, the food has always been lovely. Well recommended. Thank you.
