Côte Chester

This restaurant is not suitable for anybody with a mobility problem. There are steps going down into the restaurant at the entrance with no ramp access. There are no toilet facilities on the ground floor with the only access either via a narrow, steep winding staircase without a proper handrail. The only other access is via an external ramp accessed by going along the street which is not acceptable in bad weather. If fact this restaurant fails miserably to offer access for all. Otherwise the staff are very pleasant and the food is good.

Meal, Staff, Location, Service was outstanding. Couldn't fault it. Would certainly go again. Downside, 12.5% service charge. ( Which we asked to be removed from Bill)

Food ambience and service were all very good. Wanted somewhere calm and quiet to catch up with a friend and this fitted the bill. A very enjoyable evening.

The crab and avocado pate with sourdough toast was excellent with the distinct flavours working well together. The fillet steak was well cooked but I'm pleased I had the tomato, shallot and basil side salad as an extra to bring the dish to life. Finally, the cheese plate was a perfect way to end the meal. Overall, a really good atmosphere, a definite flavour of France and good value.

Excellent food and service. Hopefully reputation will spread and get busier. Very good value for money. All in my party enjoyed their meal and drinks.

Greeted on arrival. Booking confirmed and given a wide option on seating choice. Excellent waiter, knowledgeable of all dishes and helpful answering queries. No rushed, totally relaxing lunch with lovey wine and last but not least good toilet facilities. Thank you !

Staff very pleasant and attentive. Ate from the set menu. Good value but smaller portions. Had the roast chicken breast as a main - a bit firm and chewy, so disappointing. Enjoyed the white wine - Muscadet de Sevre et Maine Sur Lie. Would give the place another go.

Impressed with the new venture in Chester. Staff training really pays dividends and shows, no matter where we have eaten the standard is always high. The new April menu is up to the usual standard expected at Cote.

An excellent restaurant with an interesting menu and very good service. The Cote Rewards scheme is good value. This is a nice addition to Chester eating.

The food was fantastic and the staff really helpful and friendly. The only slight negative was the food arrived too quickly and we didn't have time to enjoy our drinks so the whole experience was over too soon. The restaurant had several free tables even though it was a Saturday night so not sure why it was hurried. We also didn't like the 12.5 gratuity added, it said optional, but they obviously bank on customers not haggling over a small uplift on the traditional 10%

Our favourite restaurant in Chester. Must have a very talented chef. Superb food and very welcoming and helpful staff. We have been here 6 times in the 4 weeks it has been opened..

Cote NEVER disappoints - from the food, service and décor! Still can't believe we've finally got a Cote in Chester. Just need some sunshine now so we can dine al fresco!!!

We would definitely recommend this restaurant. The setting is beautiful, the food was amazing and the staff were very attentive and professional. We will certainly be going back and will recommend it to our family and friends

Service was a little slow & not happy about automatic tipping, happy to tip, which we did, but do not want to be billed as to what to tip

Good atmosphere with a warm welcome and attentive staff. The food was excellent though it would have been better had the crepes been warm when they arrived and if they had come before the coffee.

We had breakfast there on Sunday morning. It is a very pleasant restaurant, the breakfast choices are good and the food good quality although the portions were not very large, very friendly staff.

We love the menu at Cote and visit different branches. Chester didn't let us down. Food was up to standard and the staff were very attentive and friendly.

Excellent food and service, made for a pleasant evening. The waiter was brilliant and very helpful and knowledgeable about the food he was serving. Sorry didn't get a name it was September 17th in the evening. Cheers guys will be back when next in Chester.

The reception at the door, the interior of the restaurant and the service was excellent. The food up to its usual standards of service - warm and attentive - without too long a wait. A slight niggle was that the olives we ordered to be nibbling before our first course were rather long in coming and were too closely followed by the food. But they were delicious!!

The staff were fabulous, particularly Dean. Food was beautifully presented and great quality. The choices were ample, particularly as the four of us ate from the set menu. The complimentary glad of champagne was a nice touch. Will definitely visit again soon. This was our second visit.

the restaurant is well situated in the centre of the city, it is much larger than it appears from the outside. Excellent, friendly service, a reasonable selection of wines, food was very average.

Went on a Monday evening so quite quiet but the Maitre d' kindly advised beforehand that our main course would be 20-25 minutes. While we waited,my partner and I were treated to some Fougasse (french garlic bread) which was new to us both but was delicious. Our main courses of Poulet Grille and Fish Parmentier were exquisite. Freshly prepared and thoughtfully presented. All in all I would have hesitation in recommending this restaurant to other prospective customers.

We visited this restaurant on holiday in Chester. We chose it because we have always had good service and food at our local branch and we were not disappponted. The staff were helpful and the food was great.

Great food. Reasonably priced '10th anniversary'' menu. Very friendly, attentive staff. This was our 3rd visit and each time the menu has changed slightly but still of a high standard.

Great food and exceptional staff make this a great place to eat. As good as any cote restaurant in the country . Would recommend the Breton Chicken and crime caramel .

The waiter was extremely attentive without intrusion. The food was delicious and good quality. The atmosphere was calm and considerate. Everywhere was clean and tidy. We enjoyed the evening very much.

Great tasting food and very welcoming staff. Main course was a little slow to arrive hence not a six. The waitress was very apologetic and did keep us informed without being prompted. I presume it was an oversight in the kitchen which the waitress rectified for us. Complimentary coffees after the meal as a sorry.

Went for a early evening meal with the family after a day's shopping.... it was the ideal choice. A refreshing menu, lovely location, attentive staff and finally (but most importantly) great tasting food........ definitely heading back.

Really enjoyed the 10 year anniversary menu with the glass of champagne. The service as always made us feel very special. Looking forward to our next visit soon.

Quality of food was excellent and menu ideas are varied with lots of choice. Service today was a little haphazard. Although pleasant and polite our waitress got our order wrong and the bill was incorrect. They did give us a free coffee to negate this. We paid the service charge but were a little reluctant to.

Perfect location, excellent food, great value and good service - what could we want!! Will return very soon with my lovely but occasionally recalcitrant husband. Watch this space . . .

Booked a table for 4 at Chester Cote, we unfortunately got stuck in traffic, but a quick phone call to the restaurant pushed our table time back. On arriving at the restaurant we were delighted that our requested table on the rows had been kept available. Excellent food and excellent service yet again from this fantastic restaurant.
